The food was excellent. The service was good. The cleanliness was not so good. Red lobster needs to go in and do a good clean on their restaurants. The bathroom when you flush the commode water spewed out of the pop in the back of the commode had a bad smell in that bathroom the floors look like they could use a good scrubbing the walls you can see food for somebody put it there But other than that, the food was excellent. A landmark of Gadsden, we ate there this week and was impressed with the food and staff. We eat at RL all over the southeast and there are good ones and not so good ones, As a chain each one is represented by its management and staff and it dictates the food quality, service and how you feel when you walk out after dropping a hundred bucks. Food was fresh, hot and cold where it need to be, served by a very nice and attentive server with a genuine we are glad to have you attitude. Expect to wait 30+ minutes at any point of the day. Came by here around 1:30pm on a Tuesday, and we were told 35 minutes. Came by on Friday at 4:15pm and we were told 45 minutes when there was less than 10 cars in the parking lot and less than 10 people in the waiting room. 388 room capacity, but the hostesses told us that only 3 servers were on the schedule today. Imagine running an operation this large, on the busiest road in Gadsden/Rainbow city, and you schedule 3 servers on your busiest shift... management problems across the board, it will be a miracle if this location can stay open. read more

Tonight my Wife decided to eat here for our date . I had never been to any Red Lobster before and she wanted me to try it . I'm not very big on seafood so I got on here to look at the reviews which wasn't too good . When we first arrived we was told it would be about 45 minutes to an hour for us to be seated . My first thought was dang those reviews must be right but still my wife wanted me to try it . We went out to the car to wait and within 15 minutes we got the call that we can be seated. Our waitress was very nice and very quick . My glass was never empty , she answered any questions my wife had(which is a lot) , and recommended stuff for me to try . It wasn't very loud nor was there people acting crazy . There was however a few waitresses gossiping loudly and acting like kids but it didn't personally effect our date . Our food came out fairly quick and was soon followed by a manager asking if everyone was happy and pleased with our meals . He addressed anything that we had brought up . My wife had ordered a meal that included a steak . When the steak came out it was so rare you could still hear it moo . I also ordered a steak and it came out well done with minimal seasoning I didn't complain about it because it wasn't bad . My wife's steak was replaced quickly and throughly . I give it a 4/5 due too 1) the over/under cooked food .2) the waitresses arguing over who cleans what table ( while people are being told 45/60 minute wait times) and gossiping about guest, sex life and other employees. 3) looking at the air vents you can clearly see a lack of cleaning . My wife and I went on Sunday and had a great experience. The food was great but the service was even better. Our waiter was Brandon H and he was spectacular. He was very knowledgeable and polite. Yes, this location is a little dated and the dirty lobster tank in the lobby is a bit disconcerting but the food is always spot on. My daughter and I really like to come during crabfest or endless shrimp. My usual plate is the Seaside Trio which comes with a generous sampling of fried shrimp, hand-crafted garlic shrimp scampi and creamy shrimp linguini Alfredo. The manager who has only been their 8 months hired me for back of the house and I was to be making biscuits and help with really everything BOH which I did everything asked. They hadn't had a biscuit maker in a month prior to me. I will never allow myself to work somewhere where I am not allowed to have or voice my opinion on what I feel like. And when I had a problem with the cleanliness and so forth I was told to let him manage his store. With that being said I left and told him good luck you will never have good employees. I don't recommend this place and feel bad for anyone who comes and has a bad experience. Always check reviews. Because this place seems to have a pattern of not too good ones. Needless to say along with operation come cleanliness and they don't have that. And I was wrong for addressing the situation and told to let him run his store. We had not been to this location in awhile, but decided to go today. The service was absolutely horrible. We were there around 1:40, and there were only a few other customers, but our waitress would disappear for 15-20 minutes at a time. We were seated for about 30 minutes before we ever got our salads. Whenever the waitress showed up, she would only focus on one table at a time, and would not even look at any other table. She did not take away empty bowls/plates or ask if we needed anything. All of our drink glasses were empty, and she did not even notice that we needed refills. We finally had to ask the hostess for more tea. When our main course finally arrived after about an hour, I did not get the side I ordered. Instead of apologizing, the waitress argued and said I had not ordered it. I finally told her to just leave it off the ticket. When she came back for the last time, she slammed the ticket on the table without a word. I am traveling for work and have to mention what amazing service I received from Vanessa. She's funny and extremely thoughtful. Since I eat out a lot, it's easy to notice the good from the bad. She's a smart girl and knows how to treat people as she would want to be treated. The biscuits were the best I've ever had at a red lobster and the food was hearty and tasty, with enough left over for at least two more meals, (if you like leftovers). Where to begin? This was about as bad an experience as you can have going out to eat. In all fairness the wait to get seated was probably the best part of the night. It actually kind of makes you feel like you're about to be getting something really good. We arrived with our party @ about 6:45 and were seated a little before 7:30. The tea and water came out about 10 minutes later, the beer we had to ask for 2 more times and came about the same time as our food (not app our food). At least she brought out an extra water while we waited. That being said the beer had sat so long at the bar it was totally warm. The food was an entirely different story. Apps came out in about 10 minutes, and were ok. The food orders took about 30 minutes and didn't come out at the same time. Our friend ordered the all you could eat shrimp and decided to put in an order for more when the food finally came out so that he would get it hopefully not too long after his first order was gone. I went with the steak and lobster. Hands down the worst lobster I have ever had in my life. Tough and chewy and butter didn't help in any way at all. The steak was mediocre at best. Very disappointed at the price point that Red Lobster is at. Poor service, poor quality of food, meal took over 2 hours by the time we were done, and nobody was happy. Oh my goodness. There were three of us, and as soon as we walked in we were greeted by a nice little lady who was very sweet and accommodating. I'm a large lady and needed a table - something they don't have, other than a booth/2 chair combo. Our waitress came and she was just as nice as she could be. Very attentive, not rude, a nice clean lady. We ordered the mussels in wine & garlic sauce as an appetizer. Something we all wanted to try, and it was very fresh and tasty. Those cheddar garlic biscuits - just as good as I remember too! I ordered surf & turf which came with a filet mignon, cooked a perfect medium rare as I asked and it was so tender, melt in your mouth yummy... I also had a rock lobster tail, fresh asparagus, a side salad with bleu cheese, and mashed potatoes. I didn't eat the mashed potatoes - I took a bite and they were good, but it isn't what I was there for! Everything was so good! My step mom built her own plate and had coconut shrimp, some pasta, baked potato, salad. She gave me a coconut shrimp to try and it was pretty good. We all enjoyed the food, the service, and the cleanliness of the restaurant. *the ladies bathroom was clean too! Me an my husband love seafood an it's been a while since I been to red lobster so I wanted to go the last one I went to was amazing so we went as soon as we walked in we weren't greeted the lady was standing there talking with a server I thought maybe it was the Togo section so I asked because she hadn't said a word to us come to find out she's the hostess (worst hostess I've ever met ) then we got seated the server was such a sweetheart but brought our appetizers an entrees an never brought us silverware we had to wait to eat our food an it got cold fast on top of that the fish had absolutely no seasoning I had asked for some an was denied and told to use only garlic butter my lobster also had nothing on it an was cold due to us waiting for our silverware the fish still had bones in it it I had a few pieces an stopped eating so I wouldn't choke on some of the bones at the end we were just ready to go Maria asked if we wanted dessert that was definitely a no an she showed us how to check out so we did, she left an we forgot to ask her for a to go box for my sons chicken tenders so my husband asked another waitress that snapped yes with a attitude I don't know what is up with this place but the staff was the worse Maria was the only sweet one I tipped her 30 an she is the only reason they get one star an this took place Sunday 12/18/22 at around 7 pm I will never go back there ever again read more

Second Review: This review is based off of my visit on November 30, 2013. I have always said that this restaurant was either a hit or miss.. most of them being misses and well, this time was a miss, a total miss to be exact. First off what what my girlfriend ordered came back to us completely wrong. She ordered The Bar Harbor Lobster Bake which is a pasta dinner with lobster, mussels, shrimp and scallops. What she did receive was a baked lobster, skewered shrimp and shrimp scampi.. I'm not sure what dinner that is but its definitely not what she ordered. As for my meal I again as the first review ordered the admiral's feast; which is a unhealthy festival of fried foods. The shrimp was overcooked, the clam strips were so brittle that they crumbled and the smaller slices of grouper were dried out.. Also we had a coupon for $10 ($5.00 per person) off the baked dinner meals and the waitress would not apply the coupon to our dinner because she made the mistake of putting the order in.. And what my girlfriend received wasn't covered by the coupon.. although it did say "lobster dinners" and her dinner had lobster on it.. This restaurant definitely needs to update their chef.. Their are many more decent restaurants in the Gadsden area that are way less expensive and well.. those have won my loyalty and my business.. I won't be back to this awful restaurant. As for the food, everything was fine except for the clam strips; they were overcooked badly to the point that most of them were hard and just snapped apart. No real complaints though other than that. The waitress we had was a little on the sarcastic side, which doesn't bother me at all. She kept our glasses full and tended to us at a steady rate, there are no complaints about her.
