I just had THE BEST New York Strip Steak I've ever had in my 23 years on this earth. The sides (Mac and Cheese and mashed potatoes) were also exceptional. The servers were super friendly and attentive. This is also one of the coolest places I've ever been...it's a remodeled Pizza Hut! It's super Nice inside. The young man that greeted us was very friendly and welcoming. Once seated our waitress was quick to get our drink order. She was very friendly and welcoming as well. I ordered the Hot Ham and Cheese Sandwich with onion rings. The sandwich had plenty of ham, cheese, lettuce and tomatoes. She brought the Italian dressing on the side. The waitress also asked if I wanted mayo, to which I said "yes." I cut the sandwich in half and put the dressing on one half and the mayo on the other. The dressing half was very good, but I like mayo and enjoyed the mayo a little more. The onion rings were good too. Calhoun's is a simple restaurant with a great staff and real good food. read more

Excellent food and service driving through from out of town decided to stop here had about a 20 min wait Saturday night food was flavored well and priced well we got feta dip for appetizer it was excellent steaks were cooked perfect and seasoned very good baked potatoes a little on the small side but still tasted good. I gave this restaurant another try and it's now become one of my favorites in town. I never went back after it first opened because I'm a vegetarian, but after trying it again, I learned that I can get a vegetable plate there if I ask the server. They just ring it up as the hamburger steak meal and let you get three or four vegetables from the side menu. They have really good stirfry vegetables, creamed corn, mashed potatoes, baked potatoes, mac & cheese, green beans, etc. The feta cheese dip is amazing. I also love the Greek salad. It has an open and airy feel. It's a great place to go to relax and have a meal with a friend or family member. read more

This was more of a noisy mess hall / cafeteria than a fine dining experience, although the food was reasonably priced and tasted ok too. We had a cheeseburger, and a steak and some fries. First time visiting this location where I had lunch with a friend. The service was excellent and our server was friendly and very helpful. They have quite a few Lunch Specials options as well as their regular menu. Food came out quickly, even during the lunch rush period, and was hot and very tasty. We was invited to go with some friends . I was skeptical since it was in the old Pizza Hut building. We was greeted by some very friendly host. Our server (Holly) was very friendly and on top of things. ( I recommend her she is awesome). The restaurant is clean and not crowded. In some steak houses you feel like you're on top of other people. Now the food was spectacular. Well prepared and delicious. I will be going back soon . On the plus side & the only reason I gave 2 stars: we ordered onion rings (which were NOT on the menu) & they were hot & tasty. As my friend said our food was late & barely warm. Two tables who came in after we did received their steak dinners before us & when we asked about our food our waitress went to check on ours & an another guy brought ours out finally. My steak was warm but I asked for a loaded baked potato & received a small plastic container of butter & another of sour cream. The container of butter was enough for the potato but not enough for our roll. Any additional condiments were brought out in these single tiny plastic containers. We asked for extra napkins & got two napkins each. My friend asked the guy who brought out our food for another dinner roll & never got it. I don't fault our waitress but lay the entire bad experience at the owner's poor leadership & management skills. Had he come out and greeted us kind words or an apologetic tone & maybe offered a desert or something (more than $2.50 off on my friend's ticket)...it would have gone along way in making things right. The place was relatively clean but under our table a piece of toilet paper or napkin was under my feet. The waitress pleaded with us to come back & not let this experience taint our opinion re: this place...but, it will be hard for us to return and/or give a good rating because of the way this owner handled this bad experience & lacked the common decency to treat his customers like he would want to be treated. read more

Our food was late and when it came out the steaks were lukewarm and the baked potatoes were cold. Our waitress said she would report our experience to the owner who was back in the kitchen. The owner never bothered to come out and speak to us about our concerns. Instead, he cowardly sent the waitress out to offer us a huge 10% discount. The whole situation was mishandled. With just a small amount of effort by management, two unhappy customers could have been salvaged. Instead, our future business will go somewhere else. read more

This place was recommended to me by family that lives near by. I'm from Texas just retired after 52 years in the beef business. Decided to try the family recipé of spicy feta dip. But had a failure to communicate (covid era masks) so didn't see that. The salmon was quite good. Large serving, flaky and cooked just right.
