Came to see the grandmother-in-law and went to this restaurant. Very down-to-earth and casual. Didn't need reservations on a Friday night. The liver and onions was great, the spaghetti was good, but didn't have meatballs.

This was more of a noisy mess hall / cafeteria than a fine dining experience, although the food was reasonably priced and tasted ok too. We had a cheeseburger, and a steak and some fries. Folks were friendly and service was quick. Place was clean. Plenty of parking outside although we walked here from the hotel nearby.

Guys honestly if you've still got your teeth then save your time. Unseasoned food for old white people.

Good food, decent price. They always make sure you have plenty. It is a steak house, but the pastas are really good also.

As a first timer, I found their menu to be slightly confusing. I ended up with the rocket burger snack ( add bacon & tomato, no rocket sauce). It came with fries. My guest had the chicken finger basket. It came with fries and you could also pick baked beans, slaw or more fries. They opted for fries and slaw. Our food took a long time but like I stated , they were veryyyyyyy busy! We enjoyed our meal pretty well. The Rocket has been around since 1958, so it was pretty cool to have visited here while in town. Only knock , music too loud that it's hard to hear your number called. The staff were all really nice!

My latest "Rocket" burger was comprised of broken patties covered in too much lettuce and ketchup, and the onion rings (not beer battered because they were out) were bready and unedible. We spent $30 on burgers for two, and it was just awful overall (including the static-filled country music radio station playing loudly in the background). Add to that the long waits I have ALWAYS experienced regardless of the time of day or day of week, and I'm so done with this place. I think people have some nostalgic love for The Rocket, but it's time to realize that it no longer represents good food or service in our area.

Convenient parking, very friendly staff. We were seated right away while at the same time another waiter got started with our drinks. It's a very homie, relaxed ambiance with a couple of TVs playing sports. Now to the best part. We shared a Rib Plate and a Pulled Pork Plate with a side of Mac & Cheese, Cole Slaw and Corn Bread. They are not lying when they say the ribs are fall-of-the-bone and seasoned to perfection ribs. 110% recommended. After we got all our orders, a staff member stopped by our table to ask if everything was good. I loved that. He then asked if we were trying their famous pie? We said no. He emphasized we must try it. So we did. WOW! It was gone in the blink of an eye. We had it with shrimp and totally recommend it. Everything was delicious and priced fairly. It was our first time in the area. I hope to be back soon. I apologize for the pictures. It was so good I forgot to take pictures before eating.

From the moment we…read morestepped in, we were greeted with that warm, small-town charm that's so rare to find anymore. The historic vibe of the building adds something truly special. (If you're curious, this restaurant is located in a structure with roots dating back to the early 1800's--look up the history; it's fascinating to see how it's been preserved and transformed.) The dining room was buzzing with conversation, laughter, and a genuine sense of community. Black-and-white tile floors, exposed brick walls, vintage decor, and soft lighting make the ambiance cozy and nostalgic--like stepping into a different era. Dinner? Fantastic. Service? Even better. The staff was friendly and attentive without being intrusive. Everything from the drinks to dessert hit the mark. This is more than a meal--it's an experience.
