OMG it was horrible, I ordered the kids chicken finger plate, I asked her how many does it come with? She's says depends on the size of them. I paid 14.67 for this. We had Express Steak for dinner. I had the cheeseburger combo, and cut it in half before I remembered to take a picture lol. Benilda had the lemon pepper wing combo. My burger was cooked perfectly, tasted fresh, and was juicy. One of my favorite burgers! Benilda reported that the wings were crispy on the outside and moist and tender on the inside with seasoning that was just right. The staff were very friendly and attentive. This is been the best place to eat of all time when I am in gadsden al. The stake is fresh and juicy, the fries will be the best you ever ate in your entire life. This is a great place to eat for lunch and the service is always friendly and fast. It's counter service - so you order and they do the rest. I think they have one of the best burgers in town and their wings are a hidden gem on the menu. But you really can't go wrong with anything you order. Well, I'm not one to typically criticize on a meal, but I'm afraid this one was far from what we had hoped and expected. I trusted yelp and the comments listed beforehand, but unfortunately we didn't receive a pleasant experience from this restaurant. (FYI- we were staying at a hotel and I've never heard of this place until today, so with that in mind-) For starters, when I called to place my order for delivery the little lady on the phone wasn't very polite, she wasn't rude necessarily, but her phone etiquette could use some work. Secondly, the gentleman that delivered my order seemed rather clueless, he didn't know how much the order was and didn't really say anything, just handed me the bag and took a step back from the door. My immediate thought was that maybe he was shy or something, no less, I tipped him anyway. And thirdly, and above all else, the food was not good. Not even a little. For $60 in food I expected something with more flavor, and to at least be correct. For my husbands meal, he ordered a ribeye steak sandwich with a baked potato, and some buffalo wings. The sandwich was rather bland, and the buffalo wings were so spicy he couldn't eat more than a couple of bites (he eats spicy food regularly, so I was very shocked by this) but the smell of them alone gave me heart burn so I knew they were spicy. I wish that it had been stated on the menu, or the lady on the phone had mentioned how hot they were. I simply expected regular everyday buffalo wings (like those maybe from Buffalo Wild Wings). Worst of all- I ordered a kids chicken strip/tender for my son (a toddler, so mom's can understand how picky he is), they came in burnt. So burnt that they were bitter. So, of course, he didn't eat them. As for me- I ordered a double cheese burger with a baked potato and a side salad. I didn't get a potato, but fries instead, and the cheeseburger was excruciatingly bland. And quite frankly just yuck. It had absolutely no flavor, and tasted as if someone took plain ground meat, pattied it together, and slapped it on a grill. No salt, pepper, or any other seasoning-bland. The ranch dressing for the salad had an odd taste to it, but when it comes to ranch I'm rather picky- so that's not on them. I have no complaints about the baked potato my husband had, he enjoyed it. And delivery was very prompt (thus the reason for 2 stars and not 1). After having read previous comments on here I expected far FAR better results, and furthermore for the price we paid I expected something of much better quality than we received. I apologize to the restaurant owner for what (in my thoughts) is a horrendous review, but it truly was a very unpleasant experience. read more

What a find! A great little gem hidden away in a strip center. Don't let the location put you off, go try it and you'll be so glad you did. My wife had a hamburger and said it was the best one she has ever eaten out. I had the philly cheese steak. The steak part was cooked to perfection and exactly as I had ordered. The grilled onions that came on it were grilled perfectly as well. Excellent cheese choice made it one of the best philly cheese steak sandwiches I have ever had in a restaurant. Both sandwiches came with fries which were hot and cooked properly, not undercooked as these thicker "steak fries " often are it seems. A great meal from place run by a caring owner with a friendly and caring staff. What more could you want? We both HIGHLY recommend this place and look forward to eating here again soon! read more

Thursday was my mom's birthday so I decided to take her lunch at work. I asked her what she wanted and she said express steak. We have been eating there for years and we both love it and have never had a problem with the food. So I ordered the cheeseburger combo and and got my mom the philly steak combo (which she loves). I picked up the food, met my mom and we sat down to eat. On like my moms 2nd bite, she noticed something odd and didn't complete the bite. She laid out the sandwich on the styrofoam lid of the container and cooked in between the cuts of meet was a long black hair. Gross! I was extremely disappointed. On my moms bday! She gets a hair in her food. I called them they apologized and offered my money back or to cook me another. They gave me no hassle on this. When I got back to the restaurant I showed an employee the photo I took to see if they may know who the hair belonged to. They assured me that all cooks wear hairnets and that the owner had been in the kitchen and had cooked for herself and that could have been what happened. To that I say, the owner should know better than anyone else to wear a hairnet! If only for example of how to properly work. Do I think they have great food. Yes! I have been eating at express steak ever since they opened. Well they have a new staff and we got a delivery order, The girl who took the order was very under trained, she did not get our order right, and in her words "she assumed we wanted our food this way" rather than the way we ordered it. I know the owner and we speak every time we see each other, So i call him and tell him that my $40.00 order (along with a 8 dollar tip to the driver) was incorrect. Well after being put on hold( or so he thought , we heard the lady who took our order tell him lie after lie and she said we were lying by the way) he returns to the phone with a "sorry "and begans to basically call me a liar, and he refused to make it right. So he treats a loyal customer of 12+ years like this?I'm sorry but I am done , I was charged for $40.00 worth of food and I received not even half that. Shame on you for choosing, a measly 20 dollars worth of food rather than a customer and I thought friend for 12+ years. It saddens me to say I will not return. The sad part too and the main reason I will not return is my wife is pregnant and was craving this food, but because we both got kids meals instead of what we ordered, I will be eating a sandwich tonight. BEWARE If you do eat there and you get your food to go or delivered check it there, If not it will not be fixed or replaced, even for someone who knows the owner, and his family , I never thought they would pick money over what I thought was a friendship, I was wrong. read more
