Great customer service. Steak was overcooked and rice tasted like dishwater. Mashed Potatoes and Bread was delicious.

Good food, nice servers. Busy on weekend nights, so don't be starving when you go in.

Traveled all day and looked for a place to eat and get drinks. We happened on a jewel! The steaks…read morewere the best we had in a long time 8oz Filet cooked to perfection; we have eaten at fine steak houses before and this was one of the very best! The lady that waited on us, Heather, could not have been more pleasant and efficient. What a pleasant way to end a long driving experiece. Barney's Roadhouse is a gem off the beaten path.

I came in here with higher than average expectations, and right out of the gate I was already going…read morefor four stars. But man, this is the south. And for one of the very rare times, I wish I could add a sixth star to this place. I think my bartender was Erica, nice older woman. At least that's what it was on my ticket. Top notch hospitality. Place was super clean, they had sports playing on one TV, and had enlightening music playing on the other. This is the way all of America should be. I'm on my no carb kick, so I ordered two grilled pork chops with a side of their signature Brussels, and turnip greens. Hold on for a second, I just got done eating about a half an hour ago, and I just had to wipe the saliva off of my mouth while writing this. First of all, my entire meal was under $18. How these Alabama restaurants give you insane portion sizes, and still make a profit is beyond me. The rest of these restaurants in the country need to take note. My plate was huge, and even though it was my only meal of the day, I was still able to take a portion of my second pork chop back to the truck to enjoy tomorrow with my breakfast. The bartender told me that they hired her son as a cook. If this kid keeps slinging these skillets the way that he is, No doubt he will end up being legendary. My brussel sprouts were super good, my turnip greens were OFF.THE.CHAIN. I make collards at home, and this is the very first time I've actually had greens better than my own. I'm actually considering going in there and buying a quart to have on the truck with me. My pork chops? mannnn, If you know me, you know I cook, and these pork chops were nothing short of amazing. Crisp and crunchy on the outside, super super juicy on the inside, seasoned to perfection. This is the food that dreams are made of ladies and gentlemen. I wasn't going to have supper here tonight, because I still have leftovers from last night, but this is the south. If you have a little bit of intuition, you got to go all in, and then thank yourself later. One of the best meals literally that I've had, since early May. I hope this place keeps cranking out the caliber service and food they have, and I certainly hope I'm back in this part of Bama, Because I will definitely be returning. Five stars, just isn't enough. ***DISCLAIMER*** This pure, uncut, honest review is federally protected under Federal Law by way of Bill #EO14149. An exceptionally rainy day broke just long enough for us to sprint from our car to the cover of…read moreAtomic Johnny's. Neither of us had eaten here before, but both had been wanting to try this place out. First and foremost, don't come out in your Sunday's finest, this place is the true definition of Dive Bar. Come as casual as you want and you'll feel comfortable. Only one other person in the place we were able to grab any seat we wanted. The bartender was quick to our table to get drink orders and give us menus. I went for one of the four Grenades they offered - no not a drink it's one of their signature dishes. Think Nachos but with French fries instead of chips. They had a steak offering as well as ground beef, chicken and pork. I went for the Fresh Prince which came piled with steak, grilled onions and bell peppers and queso (added some pico on the side). Really good dish. Flavor of the steak was that of a classic philly cheese steak. Generous portion for the price. Hard to go wrong here, really the hardest decision is which of the four to order. My fiance had the Porky - which simply put was a loaded burger, but it was oh so much more. Topped with slaw and smoked pork, smothered in bourbon BBQ add some cheddar, lettuce, tomato and fried onion straws and you're in burger heaven. Again, the portion was more then generous and full of flavor. Prices are right on point. Service was good and even though they got busier the longer we stayed, we continued to get checked on through the meal. While you wait for your food, the pool was free (not sure if it's that way all the time - but Saturday afternoon it is). We wouldn't hesitate to come back and try this place out and some of the other menu items. Really great food. Great Staff. Great Prices.

The order showed up with a double cheeseburger and fries, a fried pickle burger, kids' tenders with onion rings, and a salad. Credit where it's due--the cheeseburger was solid, the fries were hot, and the kid who ordered the fried pickle burger attacked it with the enthusiasm of a Labrador finding an unattended steak. The little one cleaned her plate too, so the tenders passed the toughest food critics in America. The salad, however, looked like someone whispered the word "vegetables" over a bowl of lettuce and tossed in a little shredded cheese for moral support. It wasn't bad--it just wasn't much of a salad. Then came the part that made me wonder if common sense had taken the night off. French fries arrived without ketchup. That's not an oversight; that's a misdemeanor in at least twelve Southern states. A burger without mayo is enough to have St. Peter squinting suspiciously at your résumé. But the real masterpiece? They sent a salad...and not one plastic fork. Now, I don't know who they think orders salads through DoorDash. Maybe they assume we're all carrying silverware in the glove compartment next to the jumper cables. Perhaps they envision us spearing lettuce with a pocketknife like Daniel Boone. The food itself was mostly good, and I'd order again. But somewhere between the kitchen and the delivery bag, somebody forgot that people generally need utensils to eat a salad and condiments to enjoy fries. Those little details are the difference between "pretty good" and "I'll be back tomorrow."

Very pleasant surprise! Really there are only a few things that bring this down a star. As far as…read morefriendly staff and amazing quality of smoky bbq it's going to be hard to beat the offerings they have. We had an order of the open face pork bbq sandwich with a baked potato (fully loaded) on the side. The pork came out piled high, and relatively fat free. Great flavor with or without adding bbq. Same with the potato, a very generous portion of pork heaped high on top. So, here is where part of the minus a star comes from. Both dishes were pork, because they were out of rib tips, and when we tried to order nachos, which were on the menu, we were told they were a special events only dish. We would have liked to have tried something else, but I guess we can do that next time. The only other addition to the downgrade is the fact that the restrooms were not kept supplied and after asking, nobody went out to take care of that for us. But, even so, they had great food and we would return to hopefully be able to try the rib tips next time.

My wife and I got their 2 BBQ Sandwich specials, and it was okay, but not worth the money we spent. We wanted slaw on our sandwiches, and they charged us for two sides and put very little slaw on our sandwiches. They had the BBQ sauce all over the bun, and wrapper, which was everywhere. The Crinkle Fries were mushy, I wanted the Fried Green Tomatoes, but they did not have any. For almost $40, It should have been the best samich around, but it wasn't even close.
