Came into the Brea Red Lobster with my family for the first time in a long time. We heard they had brought back endless shrimp and wanted to give it a chance. It turned out that the promotion was temporary, and had actually ended the week before, but were informed over the phone that it is available as a weekly special on Monday's, which that day happened to be. Upon arriving, we were quickly sat and introduced to our waiter Wes who was very attentive and friendly. We found that the endless shrimp on Monday's is actually $5 more than the promotion they had been running, but two of the three of us ordered it anyways. My sister ordered fish and chips. The service was great. Wes was quick to get us refills and was very helpful with navigating the endless shrimp. We were also interested in trying the new "Marry Me" variation of shrimp, which although it wasn't printed anywhere in their menu he informed us they still have. We covered pretty much every variety of shrimp they offer between the two of us, along with cole slaw and rice pilaf. As far as the shrimp goes, the quality feels worse than I remember. The breading on our Walt's favorite was soggy and falling apart even when fresh and hot. The rice pilaf was borderline inedible. It tasted old but there were also a ton of pieces of rice, pilaf, or something else that were incredibly firm to the point where you couldn't really chew it. The alfredo and scampi were the most enjoyable. The marry me shrimp was borderline inedible. The sauce, rather than what is typical of the trending recipe, tastes almost exactly like marinara sauce mixed with alfredo sauce. That wouldn't have been too much of a problem had it been executed well. The sauce had some sort of film over the top, even though there was no cheese. It was just a dry layer of skin over the sauce. The milk solids within the sauce also seemed to have separated, leaving the shrimp in a pool of what appeared to be some sort of milk curds, water, and oil. The issue is that we had to be finished with almost all of our plate to get another and try what we hadn't yet. I ended up not being able to put a dent in that second plate as the food was so heavy I wasn't feeling good. From what I heard, the fish and chips were decent, though the fries were disappointing. I think you would be better off ordering a shrimp dish a la carte from the normal menu, where the preparation is probably a little more dedicated. Don't recommend.
Red Lobster was okay overall, but I wouldn't say it was a place I'd be excited to visit again. We came here because we had a gift certificate, so we decided to give it a try. The food was decent, served hot, and the portions were good, but nothing really stood out or impressed us. The main downside was the service. Everything started fine, but after the food was served, it felt like our server was not checking on us as much as expected. We had to wait longer than we wanted for assistance, especially when we were ready for the check and needed a to-go box. Overall, it wasn't a bad experience, but it was pretty average. The food was fine, the service could have been better, and personally I don't think I would come back a second time.
Saw people posting on social about the endless shrimp deal being back for a limited time. I thought that was the reason why Red Lobster filed for bankruptcy. Anyhow, never tried this and had to. So after a long hike, the hubby and I thought we would try it on a Saturday at 3 pm. We are old people who like to have early dinner and it always works out because it's never crowded at this time. Host was nice and got us seated within 5 mins at a booth. Place was clean. We lucked out with server Marvin. The best server ever!! Very friendly, attentive, great personally and never rushed us through anything! He explained the endless shrimp deal to us when I asked if it was available. It was a $30 deal where you can pick 3 different shrimps and a side. Afterwards, you can pick 2 shrimps at a time as the refill. Not bad. When the food came out, dang!! I was shocked how lovely everything was plated. I kept reading bad reviews so I was a bit nervous but food was not over salted and everything was hot and fresh. My favorites were the alfredo and coconut shrimp. The sauce that came with the coconut shrimps was delicious. Baked potato was on point. We just finished our shrimps when Marvin came back just in time to get our second order. Like I said, so attentive. People nowadays don't have the same customer service as they did back in the day. But Marvin...he provided amazing customer service. By the end, I was so full. I had a total of 30 shrimps. Husband ate 3 cheddar bay biscuits. I was just too full to try it even though that's what they're known for.
Came in to red lobster with my girlfriend for dinner on a Saturday night. Location is on the perimeter road for the brea mall. Easy access and a fairly large parking lot with potential overflow parking in the mall lot across the perimeter road. Parking lot was fairly full for almost 8PM on a Saturday night. The restaurant was over half empty. We were seated immediately after walking in. Ambiance is a nautical theme common to red lobster and many seafood restaurants. Dark stained wood paneling, pictures of seafood, fishing, and harbor scenes, and other motif items like ship steering wheels, fishing nets, shellfish traps and the like on the walls and hung from the ceiling around the restaurant. Our server was Zach, and came up quickly with biscuits took our drink orders, and promised to return soon to take our order. He returned with our drinks several minutes later and took our orders. Checked in about 10 minutes later, offered to refill the biscuits and my soda and told us that our food would be out soon. Zach returned with the biscuits and again let us know that our food is coming right up, he again said he will refill my soda. Our food came out about 5 minutes later my soda a minute or 2 earlier. Food temperature was nice and hot. The plates looked great and we dug in to our meals. The dinners tasted good and the portions were generous. I have a strange relationship with snow crab , while it's my favorite crab taste wise, the small legs and therefore amount of work to get my fill is time consuming. My girlfriend enjoyed her lobster tail and salmon. She ate about half of the grilled shrimp and brought the rest along with her shrimp fettuccine to go. Unfortunately Zach was sort of missing in action after the food was served. We were ready for the check and wanted a to go container for my girlfriend's leftovers but waited quite a while for him to return and check in on us. Overall the food and initial wait time to be seated were both good. The wait for our meals and for the waiter after the meals arrived were quite a bit longer than expected, especially considering that the restaurant was not even half full. I may or may not return.
We came in for the all you can eat shrimp and we definitely felt like we got our moneys worth. Service was spot on & the restaurant for a Wednesday afternoon was lively. They were very intentional about making sure they offered our shrimp refills for the endless meal frequently.
Came here for lunch, and you honestly can never go wrong with Red Lobster. I absolutely love coming here -- the food is always so good and consistent. I usually order the Choose Two Shrimp meal, and it never disappoints. Everything comes out fresh, hot, and full of flavor. For drinks, I ordered a piña colada with a strawberry mix (can't remember the exact name), and it was so refreshing and delicious -- definitely a perfect pairing with the meal. Of course, the warm cheddar bay biscuits were a highlight as always. The coconut shrimp was amazing and such a great choice for an appetizer -- crispy, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. The service was great as well. Our server was friendly, attentive, and made sure we were taken care of throughout the meal. The ambiance was also really nice -- comfortable, relaxed, and perfect for a casual lunch or dinner. Overall, it was a really enjoyable experience, and I'll definitely continue coming back!
Had another great visit at Brea Red Lobster! My daughter, her friend and I all enjoyed the calamari appetizer, and our entrees. He said the chicken breast entree was delicious and it looked breaded and fried to perfection. Decent portion for a big eater also. My daughter enjoyed her steak and lobster entree and the biscuits. I really loved my shrimp and lobster linguine. Great portion and great taste! Service was very good as well. Only thing they need to bring back is soup or salad with every entree.
Better experience this time. Ordered for delivery though. They deliver through Doordash. I wanted something that I hadn't had in a while. Red Lobster was the pick. Food arrived warm still. We were missing a couple items though, missing side of broccoli and lobster bisque were not in the bag. Bummer. I did request a refund through Door dash since those items were missing. Seaside shrimp trio 10/10 This was great! Also, not a bad price for all the shrimp you get. I love popcorn shrimp, so that was my favorite. The garlic shrimps were very buttery and delicious. The shrimp with pasta was my least favorite. The sauce didn't have much flavor. It tasted just like buttery noodles lol For $22 this was a great value. Cheddar bay biscuits 10/10 Love these so much! They are cheesy and filling. Love the hint of garlic and butter. Very good biscuits. We ordered a dozen of them lol Hush puppies 10/10 The hush puppies have a special place in my heart. I love these corn bread tasting balls! So yummy. They had little pieces of corn inside them too. Stuffed mushrooms 10/10 My husband ordered these and loved them. They were stuffed with lots of filling. He said he enjoyed them. I like mushrooms, but not that much lol I didn't touch those. Overall, everything we ordered was really good. We were just missing a couple items. Could have been a 4 star, if they didn't forget the soup and broccoli lol
I spent much of today traveling to Ramona and the Oasis Camel Dairy. It's now 6:43pm and I need nourishment. My go to for delicious food and outstanding service is Red Lobster. Marvin, you did not disappoint. How gracious you were going over the menu with me. At no time did you make me feel as if I were taking up too much of your time. Great smile! Great personality. You're a keeper!! See you soon.
I've been to this red lobster on countless occasions throughout the year and have experienced the small changes they've been doing. It had been a while since we had been here and I got the meal for the bday dessert. My bf and I decided to visit and bring our own wine. One of the best things from them was the no corkage fee since they don't really have a wine selection. This is family friendly casual restaurant with a wide variety of seafood dishes. They were pretty empty with only about 3-4 tables total. We decided to order the Brussels sprouts as a starter and one of their seafood combos to share since I wasn't too hungry. My bf also added the loaded baked potato. We waited 30 mins after ordering and NOTHING. Eventually they told us that they no longer accept wine from outside, not even for a fee because they no longer pay for that type of licence. This was disappointing since the tried telling us that the had never accepted it and we know that's a lie. Eventually the showed up to our table with a different tables food. We think our waitress mixed tables and potentially never got our order in. We waited 20 more mins from that moment to even get our food. The food tasted really good as it was really fresh off the kitchen. We have never gotten our food so freshly cooked before which just adds up to them not inputting it in the system. Sadly because the experience had already been so bad, we didn't get to enjoy the food as much. Now the reason I came in, my bday dessert. The waitress tried to tell me that I was limited as to which one I could get and that would've been fine, but I'm the type of person who reads the small print and that's not what the email said. I took the time to log into my account and I was right. It was a bit of a back and forth, but I eventually got my dessert which again was really good, but the experience wasn't. After this experience, I doubt we will be back. The only reason it is a 2 star is because after the 2.5 hrs lunch ordeal, the food actually tasted good.
Haven't dined in probably in a couple of decades, but the experience was just as good as I remembered. They have a lot of specials these days and I wanted to get the shrimp trio. We also got the fish and chips for the Friday deal and everything was great! Wasn't busy and service was good. Would definitely come back
I ordered the margarita flight, crab queso, Tito's Strawberry Lemonade, Top Sirlion with Lobster plate, and Sailors Boil The Tito's Strawberry Lemonade was very very sweet and has a syrup taste to it. I wouldn't recommend this unless you don't mind super super sweet drinks. The Crab Queso was a bit salty but overall good flavor when it's nice and hot and it's a nice shareable size. The chips were very tasty as well. I would recommend to order this. The Top Sirloin was okay, the best thing about it was it being a medium rare like I requested. The flavor was okay but it was a bit chewy, I wish there was more of a sear on it, I would recommend to upgrade to the filet mignon. The Lobster tail is always very good, I've had lobster at various places and this one is always almost just as good. I would highly recommend the lobster here. The Sailors Boil was comparable in taste to most seafood boil places. I would recommend to Shake the bag when you get it so the flavor gets a better spread. The spicy sausage was the best, shrimp was okay, like most boils the flavor isn't great, mostly just bland. The only bad thing was the corn, it was very soggy. I personally wouldn't order this again, but if you're really into boils this one is good for the price. The flight of margaritas was good I would recommend to get them. The service was nice and fast with friendly staff, the ambiance is quiet and a bit outdated. I gave it a 4 star because the food has been a whole lot better ever since the CEO change, if you haven't been in a while I would definitely recommend to give it another shot.
Today Ethan showed what true hospitality is for me and my family, making Red Lobster and exceptional experience. Food was great. Condiments were great. Great family dinner. Appreciated. I couldn't have spent my birthday in a better place. It's a great dining experience for people of all ages and back-rounds! 10/10

This Red Lobster is located in the parking lot of the Brea Mall. That being said, it's not exactly 5-star dining, nor is it going to rock the socks off of your date if you're looking to impress them. But...it will do in a pinch. My boyfriend and I were inexplicably craving seafood one night, and we decided to stop in only to be pleasantly surprised that we managed to catch the tail end of lobster fest (really, no pun intended). We started off with some Lobster-Crab-and-Seafood-Stuffed Mushrooms, which were very rich, but tasty. As a main entree, I ordered the Ultimate Feast, which came with garlic shrimp scampi, steamed Maine lobster tail, Walt's Favorite Shrimp (breaded), steamed snow crab, and your choice of potato for $26.99. My boyfriend ordered a dish with garlic-steamed shrimp, a split main lobster tail, and steamed broccoli over a bed of rice pilaf. Both dishes were extremely filling and flavorful. After leaving the restaurant, we rushed home to put on our pajamas because our pants were digging into our gluttonous waistlines. Pretty sure I was in a seafood coma for the rest of the night. All-in-all, the bill came out to about $60-something, which wasn't too bad considering we ordered an appetizer and cocktails. As an unexpected (and surely unintentional) surprise, they forgot to add my boyfriend's drink to the bill, which probably saved us eight or nine clams (bazinga!). Seriously, though, if you don't mind chain restaurant seafood, Red Lobster isn't a bad way to go. I'm sure if you go during lunch, you can score some tasty specials for much cheaper than they offer on their dinner menu. Also, be prepared for a wait during peak dinner hours and on the weekends. As a side note, I wouldn't even step foot in this place during the holiday season (this includes not only Christmas, but also any major commercial holiday or "celebratory season" aka Mother's Day, Father's Day, graduation season, etc.). The parking and the wait time can be atrocious. read more

This place is pretty good. Every time I have been there within this year, our service has been great and fast. They always cook the lobster and other fishies great. My only problem with Red Lobster, and that is Red Lobster as a whole, is that their side dishes always taste like crap. I would think if you can make really yummy dishes with fish, which can be hard to cook right, that side dishes wouldn't be a problem. I've had their steamed vegetables, green beans, mashed potatoes and rice...and they are all yucky! If they took the time to work out their sides and make them taste as good as the main dishes, then I would be happy to give them 5 stars. But when I pay $90 for a meal for 2, I expect EVERYTHING to be on point, not just the main dish. Also...just a note, the Lobster Bisque and the Clam Chowder are super delicious!!!!!!!! read more

As a kid I remembered not wanting to go to Red Lobster because I thought it was not 'real' seafood. Now as an 'adult' (haha) I have come to appreciate this place more. Ok, it's not literally caught at the ocean and brought to your table but the food gets the job done. Came here with my folks and we ordered a plethora of dishes. Grilled shrimp, garlic shrimp, grilled lobster, cooked lobster, seasoned salmon, lobster pizza, lobster truffle Mac and cheese, clam chowder, and salad. It was a lot of food. Yea some food is a bit salty and creamy and yea I can imagine for some hipsters this isn't part of their bookmarks of the latest 'modern' food cuisine. Well, I grew up with not much and I've come to appreciate this place especially with the company I was eating with. Service here is good and the staffers are friendly. Came at lunch hour so there was a lot of open seating. There was a private dining area where I saw a group of cute old grandmas having a party. It was nice to see. Oh yea, there cheddar biscuits are free and you can get as much as you like. Nice. read more

The cheese biscuits...so flaky, so cheesy, so light and crispy...and so damn salty. Ahh, I love it, I love it, love it!!! It's called Red Lobster but should really be called Red Shrimp or something. Almost every entree has shrimp. I wanted a clam dish but didn't see any. Ordered the white wine and garlic mussels and a side of roasted vegetable medley. Roasted vegetable medley: kid's size roasted onions, cucumbers (?) tomatoes and squash. Didn't eat it, looked ok though. Was the last thing to arrive. Mussels: unbelievably small, sauce was very rich but very salty. It came with four slices of slightly toasted bread. Bread was perfectly toasty and great to dip in the sauce. Excerpt that it was salted too much. All in all, it was almost great. The mussels were the smallest I've ever seen, the sauce and bread was very salty. But it has a very rich lemony taste. Funny, didn't taste the garlic or white wine. The aquarium of lobsters in the waiting area was kinda depressing, lobsters were very minuscule - almost like it was farm raised. :/ read more

Updated review 2/4/17. We went back tonight to celebrate another birthday. We had a bit of a wait (13 people) so the service manager Constance was amazing. She spent time with our kids and took out lobsters for them to see up close and spent time teaching them about lobsters. She even told us a story about how last week she had a pregnant lobster that she sent back to Maine to be put back in the ocean so she could have her babies. We offed similar food and it was still excellent. Jonah was our sever this time and he was very patient with our kids and super nice. Seriously you can't go wrong at this Red Lobster. Customer service is top notch. We love it here!! read more

Our server was friendly but not very knowledgable about the menu. The pina colada was very good; at $9, it better taste good. The restaurant is beautiful as well. However, that's where the good ends. we ordered the endless shrimp and it was absolutely terrible. Firstly, we placed our endless shrimp order and our server didn't let us know that we were able to choose three types of shrimp to start with. Instead we received three orders of the same thing. Later on, we receive the biscuits, and i ask if the the endless shrimp come with salad. He goes oh yeah And is about to leave, without inquiring what type of salad I want. I stop him before he leaves and tells him I want ranch. After a hefty 30-35 minutes of waiting, our shrimp arrives..what a disappointment. The shrimp is so small, you can't really taste the shrimp. This is even more true in the popcorn and coconut shrimp. All you taste is the batter because the shrimp is so small. To my dismay, the shrimp linguini Alfredo had even smaller shrimp(didn't think it was possible) read more

General manager is extremely rude. He yelled at us when we asked that online order comes with 12 biscuits. Wasn't able to help us. So disappointed. Dinner was totally ruined by this location and the general manager. On top of it, delivery was late and soup wasn't delivered. read more

Amazing food! I would give this 5 stars but unfortunately there were some downsides to my visit. While me and my family were eating, there was an Ant on our table. I know it's not too big of a deal, but i most definitely did not want one crawling around my food. One of my forks also had a small piece of food still stuck to it, hard to miss but I most definitely don't want someone's previous meal in mine. Last I would just like to talk about the environment in general, the lamps are VERY dusty. They are right above us and our tables and I don't need any of that in my food. Honestly I think that's it , just need to work on a cleaner restaurant. read more

Absolutely perfect dinner. My girlfriend and I had the special - two, four course meals for $15 each, which was surprising. The amount of food delivered for $15 was very impressive, though they go a little heavy on the mashed potatoes. Everything is clean and well maintained. The layout is a bit sparse, but my guess is that's a corporate thing and the location has little say in how they decorate. The food was absolutely perfect. I had the chicken and shrimp, my girlfriend had the coconut shrimp plate. Both were cooked to near perfection. The mashed potatoes were especially great. The only minor thing would be that I had to ask for cocktail sauce, which is odd seeing as how I had shrimp. Other than that minor concern, though everything was perfect. Our server was Bree, and she went well out of her way to put the "serve" back in "server". She was Johnny-on-the-spot with drinks, second course and entree, and was prompt to handle any out-of-the-ordinary requests (though we are generally pretty undemanding patrons). "Service with a smile" is an understatement - she had personality to spare and made the dining experience very enjoyable. We were both very impressed with the service and the food and would highly recommend this location. We will definitely be going back. read more

Service was great on a Thursday evening. We were seated immediately, were provided drinks, and order was taken right away, & food was served fresh. There was a delay with my daughter's meal, but we were told it was redone because the original plate had overdone fish. So I appreciate our server being honest with us about the reason. I wouldn't knock off stars for that. As always, the cheddar bay biscuits were soft, buttery, and melt in your mouth perfect. The place is clean, and we all enjoyed our food (lobster bisque, lobster pizza, fish tacos, & kid's fried fish with orange wedges). If I'm ever in the area, I'd gladly return to this location. read more
