Flickering lights and dirty waitress-had horrible experience. Our young working daughter wanted to take us out for her dad's birthday. she worked hard to be able to pay for it too. she went in earlier asking if they did birthday celebrations - like with dessert and sing or anything. they said we got you- she was happy to create a surprise him. the waitress comes loudly into the room saying that this man brought himself here and got the london broil to celebrate his birthday. Went with the fam for Father's Day, of course he picked red lobster. It was really good though! Decently priced I suppose, we shared these two feasts I think they're called, it was all really good tbh except the steak was a little less cooked than ordered (I liked it though). Do not come to this Red Lobster. We sat for 20 minutes before being seen by a waitress. When seen she wanted to take our entire order including the appetizer (which came out at the same time as our meal). The restaurant was dirty with food on the floor. Soooo..... hadn't had red lobster in a while... talking 7-9years ago and for some reason was craving it for the cheesy biscuits. Idk why I had such a good memory in my mind of red lobster. Now I wonder if it was just due to company with friends that made the food better. Lunch time was fairly slow on Saturday. Service was good. But then again would be worried if they didn't have good service since it was a slow lunch. Host and waitress were good, no complaints. Food is where it gets dicey. We got the calamari to start. The squid was chewy, the batter fell off the squid before you even out in your mouth. Not crunchy, seems like there was an issue with the frying portion. It was falling apart before you even dipped it in anything. Got the fish and chips which was not exciting. Seemed like it was frozen and reheated. The coconut shrimp was also a disappointment. Expensive, with lots of shrimps but again, frying was off. The sauces were good but that's the only redeeming factor of the meal. Unfortunately we had a craving for some odd reason and it was a wasted meal. Will not be back at anymore red lobsters. The cheesy bread they are known for was also cold and dry when served. We were in the restaurant on 10/5/25 and to say it was horrible is a understatement! Our waiter (Tommy) was incredibly condescending and very rude. I wanted to order the shrimp trio but change the shrimp scampi for additional fried shrimp (the scampi always makes me physically ill) and he just said that he can't and they stopped doing that (very rude-like it was a big effort to take our order). I ordered a baked potato. My friend ordered coconut shrimp and wanted a salad (for a side), and very rudely was told it was an additional charge which was fine. But when he brought the salad, the lettuce was all brown (not just a couple pieces) so she said she would like another salad. Tommy said well, if you don't like the looks of that lettuce you're not going to like the replacement salad!! He was not only RUDE, but he never asked if he could bring something in place of the salad. I don't get to Red Lobster very often and was looking forward to it. But next time we'll find a local restaurant (there are lots in Appleton WI) where the staff is at least cordial to the diners. To say that we were upset is quite the understatement! read more

I normally don't hit up chain restaurants, but one of my girlfriend's was in town and she had never had lobster before, so of course, red lobster was brought up. Atmosphere: The inside is dark and just feels dated. The lamp above our table was splattered with some type of brown sauce. Service: We went to the hostess station and were greeted (barely) by the kid behind the desk with no smile, no hello, just a "how many". THIS IS WHAT I HATE ABOUT CHAIN RESTAURANTS. It's a bunch of highschoolers with a part time job that just don't care about what they are doing. Our waiter brought our drinks, took our orders, brought our food, and then we didn't see him for a good 10 or 15 min, which sucked because I needed napkins and more lime wedges since they give you 1 lime wedge per 3 tacos. What? Food: The biscuits were not bad. I would eat those any day. The caesar salad had a ton of par-rotted lettuce that I had to pick through. I ordered the southwestern lobster tacos. They should be called, cabbage tacos. The ratio was this: 10% lobster, 15% corn tortilla, 60% raw cabbage, and 25% corn and old brown avocado mush. I left a good majority of my food on my plate. $15 for 3 tacos, that is insanity considering I can get $1 tacos at most local restaurants a day or two a week, and they use quality fresh ingredients. One of the tacos had 5 little pieces of lobster, another had 4 and another had 3.....I do not call that ratio of ingredients, a lobster taco. And brown avocado corn goop? Yuck, avoid this dish at all costs. I just feel sad that places like this are so busy, and local restaurants owned by families are being neglected, to eat subpar overadvertised food. read more

My husband and I were fondly reminiscing about our first (and best) memories of Red Lobster. My first time was in Florida, 1975. Shortly thereafter, Red Lobster came to Green Bay and I went there often with my parents and brother in the late 1970's. My husband remembers Red Lobster in Lexington, KY--you always had to wait for a table, it was hugely popular and so good! Fast forward to 2024. We decided to give good ol' RL a try in Appleton, WI. We had heard it wasn't the same--maybe it had even gone downhill in the ensuing years. After all, RL's are closing across the country, but boy, we were blown away by the service and food both! We were pleasantly greeted and seated upon our arrival. Our waitress was prompt and efficient. I ordered the flounder with baked potato and an additional side salad. My husband had fish and chips (cod) with an additional Caesar salad. The portions were generous--we couldn't eat it all--and the flavor and plating were spot on! The music track was also perfect for a clientele that has mostly been raised in the 1960's and 1970's. I actually remarked that RL seems to have upped their game. We were so excited to encounter such quality food at reasonable prices. It positively completed our combined nostalgic memories of a great place to eat! I'm afraid the Appleton RL may close as there were very few people dining there at lunch time, but maybe this review will bring a few more customers in! read more

I've been to several Red Lobsters in the Midwest and I like the one in Appleton most. Although it's always busy, if you go early when they just open, you will definitely get a seat. During the warmer months, they open doors for you when you enter and exit. Since we always have a smaller party, the times I've went we were always seated promptly. I've only had to wait 15 minute once. The service is ok. It's not spectacular. The time I went, the manager - I believe - came to check in with us several times through our meal to make sure we got the right order and to make sure everything was ok. Our server took her time explaining the specials and gave us enough time to look through their new menu. She didn't seemed rushed like the other servers I've experienced at other Red Lobsters. Our food came in a good time as well and the cheddar biscuits were warm with the cheese inside still melted. Divine! I enjoyed my meal; the Shrimp Trio. My husband thought that the lobster tail was a tad overcooked as it was more chewy but he thoroughly enjoyed it. This was the first time he didn't order his usual. We don't order cocktails as it is over an hour drive for us to return home but I will try that next time. The ones that came to our neighbor's table looked absolutely delicious. read more

My fiancé and I were so excited to go. I was craving fresh crab and him salmon. The crab was awful. You could tell it wasn't fresh. At least 3 flies landed on my food and there was green on my crab. My wife and I stopped for dinner tonight. The restaurant was clean, and we were welcomed by the staff as soon as we walked in. After a short wait we were taken to our table. Our waitress Rachel was extremely warm and welcoming to us. She made several suggestions for our meal and really seemed happy to be helping us. This is a poorly managed Red Lobster. The bar & bar-tender is overwhelmed and there should be a 2nd bar-tender at all times. They have the ridiculous practice of sending ALL drink glasses to the bar for washing. They set all these glasses at the end of the bar and there were a bunch of these dirty glasses. Ridiculous thing is - it's the bar-tenders job to wash these glasses. Why? Why not send them to the back for the dishwasher to take care of?? Instead, the whole end of the bar is littered with used glasses. I took a picture of it!!! The clueless manager is seen walking around doing nothing!! And she is unaware of the state of the bar, or else she just doesn't care. Service is slow at the bar due to the lack of a second bar-tender. Food is mediocre at best and drinks are weak and blah!! Food was great as always! The service however, not so much. When we arrived there was an hour wait (which is pretty much expected on a Saturday night) but we found out they now have "call ahead seating". Something they never offered before. So it's great that they offer it now, it just would have been nice to know ahead of time. After our order was taken, our waiter brought our drinks, bread, and salads very quickly. He was very friendly and everything started off great. When we got our salads we also ordered a drink. We never did get that drink. Then we seemed to wait quite a bit for everything after that. We ordered the endless shrimp (our favorite!) and the dishes started to pile up. It was not just the waiter. When a food runner brought a order of coconut shrimp, she had to move empty dishes out of the way just so it would fit on the table. She did not clear off any of the dishes either. One whole side of the table was full of empty dishes. It wasn't until I asked the waiter to take some of them, that he finally took one pile of them. We also asked for another basket of bread for our kids while we waited for our shrimp. We never saw that either. We did finally get refills on our drinks, but not before they were empty for a while, and we had to ask for them. All in all the food was great, but we'll think twice before going again due to the lack of service read more

I called more than an hour before we planned to arrive, and made a reservation for 4 people. We arrived at the time of our reservation and were told our table wasn't ready yet. After a couple minutes, the host told us our table was ready. We followed him into the dining area, where he wandered around, turned around and mumbled something, and began walking back to the waiting area. I questioned what we were doing. He said someone told him our table was ready, but there were people at it so he didn't know what to do with us. I questioned why they accept reservations, if they aren't going to honor them. He just shrugged and said "We're full". I asked how much longer it would be, he didn't answer the question and walked away. There were many people there, but they weren't swamped.
