LOVED this little hotel. They had snackies galore and so many yummy breakfast options. The staff was super nice, the room was well kept and clean, the pool/spa were lovely, and they even had bike rentals we would have loved to try if we had a longer stay. This hotel is a gem! The flowers around the property made it feel warm and inviting. We arrived about an hour early and our room was not quite ready so we sad on their beautiful outdooor patio with lots of flowers around, and had some snacks while we waiting. They provide free snacks, snacks, and more snacks in the lobby, as well as coffee available all the times. The pool is warm and they even provided life jackets and floaties for the kids. The pool area has a bathroom and a hot tub too. Everything was super clean. The staff were super welcoming. The breakfast was delicious and more than just grab and go food. They had a waffle station, build your own omelette station (cook top is similiar to a waffle maker), scrambled eggs, sausage, yogurt station and oatmeal station, along with other pre-made breakfast items like granola bars, etc. I would highly recommend this place for any stay! read more

Excellent budget stay. I woukd compare this hotel to a Best Western or LaQuinta Inn. Is it the most up-to-date and modern, no, but it was a clean, safe, quiet stay and what the hotel lacks in moderness, they makeup for it in perks and customer service. The beds were actually awesome. Pillows and mattress were firm yet supportive. I travel a lot, usually with Marriott and Sheraton, but I have stayed at pretty much all brands before, but I will say out of all those stay, this hotel was #3 in terms of most comfy beds I have ever stayed ever. I wished I had booked another night just to sleep! Parking was easy and free, breakfast was bountiful and included. They have a pool and hot tub that look very well maintained. Hotel overall needed some TLC, but they have been painting and you can tell the franchaise owner actuallt cares about their hotel. They are also pet friendly, but I did not have my pet with me, but I always take note when I stay somewhere that is. Location is great and there are lots of great places to eat nearby. The pool is teeny but clean, the hot tub is great, and there's an adult only time from 10-12-such a great idea! Location is wonderful too. Kimberly at the front desk was an absolute doll. She was so kind and helpful--give that woman a raise! Also there are free snacks and drinks for everyone who stays, they're always replenished. We had such a great time at Red Lion in Sequim!!! Free snacks in the front lobby 24/7, and as a mom you know that's a win! Kids life jackets to use in the pool area was amazing as well, I've never seen a pool have life jackets in case you forgot yours. The continental breakfast was perfect, we all loved it. The rooms were clean and decent. And the price was amazing! Just don't go to the Mexican restaurant next door, service was terrible and after an hour and a half of waiting for food we paid for our drinks and left, went to Westside Pizza and had some of the best pizza we've ever had. I used to stay at Red Lion properties often when I was traveling on business. It was a very upscale chain. Predictable. Clean. Excellent staff. Priced on the high end but for business travel cost is usually not a huge concern. Retired now and travel for pleasure. Hadn't stayed in a Red Lion for a few years. Booked a room at a Red Lion in southern Oregon not long ago and to be kind, it was horrible. Obscenely priced but everything about the hotel was just plain awful. I figured it was just a rare clunker in an otherwise dependable chain. Booked a room at the Sequim Red Lion months in advance. We have a tight travel schedule so everything was booked and paid for well in advance. So we get an e-mail 5 days before our arrival date informing us that the boiler at the hotel broke so there's no hot water. We were asked if we wanted to keep our reservation and were offered a 20% discount if we did. I'm guessing that Red Lion is now managed by people who have no earthly clue how to run a hospitality business. Hey, Red Lion: if we wanted to stay at a place with no hot water, we'd do it on the cheap and go camping! Oh, wait! Except for the most primitive camp sites, most all campgrounds have hot water. That aside, a 20% discount is completely inadequate for not being able to take a shower in the morning. So this meant that we needed to scramble to find other accommodations... not the easiest thing to do in the middle of Summer on very short notice. Thanks a lot Red Lion! Now I'll admit to not knowing anything about the hotel business but do hotels only have one boiler? One boiler makes enough hot water for a couple of hundred guests plus whatever else needs hot water on the property? Like the laundry for example? So does the 20% discount also cover having to sleep on dirty sheets? Dirty towels? And 5+ days to fix this boiler?!?!?! Where are the parts coming from? Pluto? Obviously we will never be staying at this place in the future. And we will be letting our AAA travel advisor about this experience so they won't be sending customers there either. With me, two strikes and you are out. The once fabulous Red Lion brand is now radioactively toxic as far as I'm concerned. They have put themselves at the very bottom of the list when it comes to choosing a place to stay. Then there's the matter of getting a refund since this room was paid for well in advance. We were told "it will take a while" to credit our account with a refund". Depending on how long "a while" turns out to be, further complaints to various appropriate entities may be forthcoming. If you choose to book a room at this place anyway, that's entirely up to you. But you've been warned.... UPDATE: It's been over a month and we're still waiting for a refund from Red Lion. Filed a fraud complaint with the BBB and got an almost instantaneous response from the hotel. Their response? "It was someone else's fault". Really? This un-response tells you everything you ever wanted to know about this hotel's attitudes toward it's customers. Avoid this dump and these crooked operators! BTW... STILL waiting for the refund even though we paid in full MANY months ago! read more

There are a few options for places to stay in Sequim, this place does it's best to look attractive despite an older building. It has lovely places to sit outside and enjoy the warm sun or eat breakfast. Complimentary water bottles, juice boxes, and snacks are out all day. The breakfast had a variety of your standard options. The beds were comfortable and the rooms were nice. The only reason this is not a better review is because the cleaning supervisor was constantly visible and almost "lurking" or "watching" but not friendly or speaking to anyone but the employees. The would be up and down the hotel halls just standing and watching the guests, around the pool area starring into the windows, and in the hallway by breakfast watching. It seemed more of a "creeper" vibe instead of a friendly hotel staff member. I did not observe him at anytime talking or speaking to guests but did witness him micromanaging his cleaning crew and being very rude to them. The hotel itself is a great stop in a small town where we stopped to smell and appreciate the lavender but not sure if I would want to stay again and be watched. read more

This has to be one of the most ghetto hotels I've ever stayed in. The lights flicker consistently and the shower made a loud whistling noise when I tried to use it so I just took a bath instead. The bed was hard as a rock so I got no sleep from it. I don't recommend staying at this hotel. read more

Check in is strictly after 3:00pm. The front desk didn't even bother to check if there were any rooms available when I arrived at 2:30pm. When I got to the room, I noticed light stains on the bedsheets so I requested new sheets. The ladies were very quick to remedy the bedsheet issue which I appreciated. It was interesting that they served frozen hot pockets, Jimmy dean breakfast sandwiches and burritos for you to heat up yourself for breakfast. Our stay was good for Sequim but upon checkout, I overheard another guest was approved for late checkout at 1:00pm (2 hours later) whereas I wasn't even allowed to check in half hour early. read more

We had another fabulous time staying in Sequim at the beautiful Red Lion. They have really done an amazing job on their landscaping. There are flowers everywhere and they are gorgeous. It is very impressive to see how much work they have done and how beautiful the property looks. Once again the staff was amazing. Big shout out to Kimberly, Liz and Hayley. All of these ladies were professional, personal and went out of their way to be accommodating. The staff here is the very best. We are always impressed. The continental breakfast was again delightful. They now have waffles. What's more is they have cinnamon roll flavored waffles and mini waffles. We love this hotel and will be back again soon. I was really upset when I arrived for a 2 night stay and my room had already been charged to the card I gave them for the reservation! I had no chance to claim my AAA discount or to split it with my friend as was the plan. I've stayed in many hotels and have always been given the choice of paying at check in. I also was very afraid of falling in the pool area on the very slick tiles! They also need to install hand rails in the tub/shower. I do want to commend all the staff for being very courteous and helpful. read more

The location was great, hotel was easy to find, staff was SO friendly & helpful. This is a mid-range hotel. Grounds were clean & the 5 star review was because the Pet Friendly room did NOT have carpet!!!! That is such a plus for us!!! Breakfast was modified but good, our room had easy access to the outside pet area. The hotel is very family friendly too but being in a pet friendly room means being on the 1st floor & the rooms are always noisy from the people overhead. The only negative thing I saw was some guests NOT PICKING UP AFTER THEIR PETS!! This is disgusting & not the hotel's fault. Red Lion provides a pet area, disposal bags and a trash can and yet daily I would have to dodge big dog poop! The bed was comfortable, the hotel was comfortable & close to everything. I'm giving this 5-stars because of the room renovations. They're really nice. Sure, this hotel isn't a luxury resort, but for what it is, a nice budget hotel, it was excellent. I travel a lot for work. I stay in business oriented hotels, and it was on par with those. I read down below that it was a former Days Inn, which makes more sense now. Definitely not at luxurious as other Red Lions. Our king size room with jacuzzi tub in room was clean but a bit small. The staff was kind and attentive. I forgot my phone charger plug-in and asked if there was one in lost and found I could borrow and the head house keeper found one for me. She was surprised I returned it too! Continental breakfast from 6:30-9:30 was basic and good, waffle station, eggs, sausage, cereal, yogurt, fruit, etc. Complimentary Bikes were available for guests to ride into town, I thought that was a pretty neat idea! The hotel soaps and lotion were much nicer than I thought they would be, I was pleasantly surprised. The jacuzzi tub sat 2 adults comfortably and was quite large. read more

Kudos to the new management and staff at the Red Lion Inn & Suites in Sequim, WA. My wife and I stayed there for three nights this summer as we love visiting the peninsula and Sequim. Of particular note was the cleanliness of the entire property. Everything was spotless and the staff extremely accommodating. We loved the new garden and seating area out in front of the property where we enjoyed, each morning, the complimentary coffee, breakfast and newspaper. The complimentary 'rental' bicycles were a highlight of our visit as the Olympic Discovery Trail skirts the hotel; we took a 24 mile bike ride through some of the most amazing landscape and views of the Olympic Mountains. To arrive back at the hotel and enjoy the indoor pool and hot tub made our visit all the more pleasurable - and eased the pain associated with walking all the way to the lighthouse on the Dungeness Spit (10 mile round trip 'hike') and our 'marathon' bike ride. Of special mention are the following individuals that we met, or assisted us, during our stay - Breakfast/Front Desk Staff: Becca, Kai, Liz and Steve, Manager: Kim, Housekeeping Staff: Hailey, Daniel, Diana, Elijah & Hanna, and finally, the Maintenance Dynamic Duo of Peter and Randy. The staff were awesome and very accommodating to the point they helped us put chains on the car. They extended checkout times and breakfast hours due to the snow. I stay here for business because it is pet friendly but I just can't do it anymore. Last month we booked a king bed but they didn't have any so we were given a room with 2 queen beds. One of the pillows had poop on it. Needless to say we slept on the other bed. This month, I go to take a shower and find the previous guest's used soap and dirty washcloth in the shower. Also the previous guest left their echo dot. I don't assume that any hotel is super clean but I'm content in my ignorance until gross neglect forces me to think otherwise. Do not stay here. They do not clean the rooms well, if at all. I will take my business to a different town with pet friendly hotels so to never stay here again. read more

If you have a four legged family member, Look to Red Lion hotel and staff for a warm and welcoming stay. My 'doggie room' was super modern with all the included features, such as a great lamp with USB/power outlet, super black out curtains and hemp and various herbal shampoos and lotions. My only criticism is the breakfast buffet. While in the bathroom, I saw a sticker encouraging me to be green and limit my use of towels, yet at the breakfast table, it was like a barbeque in the park with plastic silverware, plastic cups, which made the OJ taste hella weird, and styrofoam plates and bowls... oh no. Please consider using alternatives. This style of breakfast was not congruent with the rest of the hotel. I say 5 stars for hospitality, Shout out to the friendly 'Midwest is the best' staff! And I really enjoyed the dog friendly and clean environment. After a day of biking, I enjoyed the hot Jacuzzi and a swim in a heated pool. Wonderful!!! Did I mention Red Lion is super Dog friendly?!! My kid and I thank you for being part of making our Christmas vacation turn out so lovely and unforgettable. read more

Red Lion, Sequim, is conveniently located on the main drag coming into town. The hotel facility is nice enough, and the check-in lady was also Pleasant - once she got there. Strangely the front desk was largely absent of staff in the evening and morning hours. You have to wait around wondering if anybody will come. The setup was very strange. When you walk in the front door, where a lobby normally is, you instead have a clutter of tables and chairs for the breakfast area. the breakfast started half an hour later than the scheduled time, and the coffee was spectacularly bad. Scrambled eggs did not come out until also half an hour after the scheduled time. The morning desk person was very strange indeed. She came right up to us without a greeting and only barely acknowledged us when we said good morning. This happened on three separate occasions with three different family members. It just seems strange to come up to a person in the morning without acknowledgement or even a good morning. Maybe warmth and Hospitality are not part of the hospitality industry in Sequim. read more

I booked a room here for myself and my husband through a third party and got a pretty good deal, around $65. For that price the room was fine. Some things you should know: 1) This hotel was formerly a Days Inn. It is currently undergoing renovations. The rooms are currently in the same condition as they were previously, so you are basically staying at a Days Inn. Most of the second floor is closed off because of the renovations. Perhaps the rooms will look very nice once they are done, but it is nothing special right now. 2) No elevator. No gym. Continental breakfast was bare minimum, bite size muffins, bowl of fruit, low quality bread. No cold cereal, no yogurt. Coffee only available in lobby during breakfast. They begin construction in the morning at 9 am. 3) There is no road side sign, and it is easy to drive right by it. Our stay was fine. There were some loud people next to us, so they moved us to a quieter room. The staff was friendly and the room was comfortable. The room could have been cleaner, there was hair in our tub. The bathroom soaps are very nice quality, in room coffee was nothing special but good. If I could get the $65 price I would stay here again, but at the normal price of over $100, I'd spend my money at the Holiday Inn. read more

The bed was comfortable. We had a second floor room and there is no elevator!! The cleanliness of our room was ok. Poorly dusted, bathroom floor was dirty behind the bathroom door, and drawers needed wiped out before we could use them. Next, there were two wrapped plastic cups in the bathroom. Really? There are two queen beds, room for 4, but amenities for two? And towels for 3 in the bathroom. Lastly on room amenities, two plastic wrapped coffee cups, but no coffee pot!? I guess you could carry the coffee cup down to the breakfast area in the a.m. Breakfast was nothing "special", from the report I got. ( I did not partake in the choices.)Scrambled eggs, sausage links, fruit, yogurt, waffle batter & waffle iron. Sweets and cereal too. Parking lot is downhill from the building, you can drive up to unload, if other guests aren't blocking the narrow drive!! Park below after, then steps up or sloping drive. A bed so crooked we had to sleep ACROSS it, bathroom door wouldn't close, the paint on the bottom of the pool is peeling off in hand sizes pieces that just float there. Dozens of very large paint chips. The floor of the pool room is not suitable for wetness and we saw several people slip just casually walking. We stayed here last weekend mainly due to the indoor pool and the pet friendly rooms though the pool could only be reserved for 30 minute intervals so we were not able to utilize it as much as the kids would have liked. The room which was a pet friendly room had a very strong urine odor upon arrival and we advised the front desk person of this after checking into our room and although our complaint was acknowledged nothing was done to remedy the odor. The odor could not have been from our dog as we noticed it upon our arrival and we NEVER left our dog unattended in the room, she is potty trained and never has accidents inside. We have stayed in other pet friendly rooms and never have we stayed in one that smelled like this one, it made me question the cleanliness of our room as well. I have read some of the other reviews and am surprised that there were several that gave this hotel such high ratings after our experience. The Management even indicated in response to another review that there have been some fraudulent bad reviews...my hunch is that the only fraudulent reviews are those posted by Management (or friends of theirs) to bolster their ratings. My advice is to avoid this hotel and stay somewhere else! read more

My boyfriend and I checked into this hotel unfortunately it was one of few other options. When We reserved the room in advance they had an option with two queen beds and then later upgraded us to a room with one king which made more sense. Got to the hotel the cleanliness is questionable and our upgraded room was given away. Whatever we will live. In the morning someone walked right into our room no knocking I don't even think it was room service. So that's concerning as well. Basically don't stay at the red Lion here unless you have to. I don't like to write negative reviews but I must share this. We stayed at the Sequim Red Lion Hotel late last year and we were very disappointed. We had stayed at the Red Lion in Port Angeles and were happy with our stay and especially the view so I had assumed that this place would be just as nice. I was wrong. The bathroom attached to our room had mold growing on the ceiling and around the fixtures. The pool area had rust forming on many child-level surfaces which could have lead to an injury involving a tetanus shot. The door leading to the exterior of the building was propped open and not shut securely which could have led to a lawsuit if any person, or child, had wandered in and gotten hurt. I believe, by law, that this was a violation of a building with a swimming pool. I complained to the Manager of the problems and she seemed defensive. I am not sure how you could be defensive of safety violations, but she was. She did comp our room but after the experience and what we had seen, it hardly seemed sufficient. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone especially if they are traveling with small children until the Hotel remedies these issues. read more

It must have been a popular weekend as many places were booked already. Our room here was more than fine though. The parking is in front and down a steep walk so you do have a bit of a short walk down and up. The staff were friendly and helpful. Not fancy at all. The rooms were clean and appointed well. Nice shower/bath - all clean with deluxe towels and toiletries. Flat screen TV if you need that. Our room was quiet on the second floor but you could hear the shower in a room nearby. No rowdy quests. We got a room with two queens which was fine. New mattresses and pillows. We were happy to stay here and would come back if we needed. read more
