The long one-lane drive can be tricky if there is oncoming traffic (luckily we didn't encounter any). We recommend only travel during daylight. Pack essentials such as drinking water. The rooms are clean. The layout is a bit awkward. Not enough lighting to do much after dark. This can be a problem when the days are shorter. Part of the second bedroom has very low ceiling (under 5 feet), and you bump your head walking around the bed. Don't know why the bed is not placed on the opposite wall which would solve the problem.

They have several units to choose from, but we chose the "Perch", which was the largest. It didn't disappoint! We didn't even use half the space! Currently, check-in is anytime after 2:00pm. We checked ourselves in and upon entering, found a spacious "home"! Divided by a set of stairs, there is a murphy bed (sleeps 2), bath & shower, dining area and full kitchen to the left. On the dining table was a lovely note addressed to us by the hosts Craig & Michelle, accompanied by a bottle of wine and a bowl of granola bars. Then, in the refrigerator, there was a nicely adjourned box nestled with yogurts, orange juice, hard boiled eggs, fresh fruit, a small bottle of Prosecco (for mimosas) and chocolate! We turned around and on the kitchen counter was a plate of local pastries! In the room on the other side of the stairs is another bedroom (sleeping 2-3), king bed, full bath and sitting area with coffee maker and coffee pods. Downstairs by the front door is a living room with TV, comfy couch & chair, wet bar, small fridge and washer/dryer! As everyone knows, with a home or business, there will always be times of repair and/or construction. Currently, the upper deck is being repaired, so we weren't able to take advantage of that. Instead, we took a long walk along the water, watched the eagles soar overhead, waved at people passing by and enjoyed the fresh sea air! Eating at local restaurants is always a plus and enjoying wine in the evenings watching the sun lower gently on the horizon out of sight made this trip, along with our fabulous hosts, Craig & Michelle, all worthwhile. Thank you for making our local getaway a special one!

People are saying it's expensive but that's just supply and demand. I feel like for the ample rinky dink accommodations outside the National Park you would get far more rinky dink rooms for the same amount. You can borrow kitchen supplies too. It's got it all. Would recommend for a more economical but still good stay for ONP.

This room was booked for me at the last minute, and there are not a lot of choices in Port Angeles,…read moreso I'm grateful they had a room for me with a clean, comfortable enough bed. The hotel has a beautiful view, and the gentleman at check-in was very friendly. However, this is where I get very confused reading prior reviews. The hotel is very, very dated. Please note that the rooms open up right to the outside, and in my case, to an alley, which tbh, seemed a little sketchy, especially without a deadbolt. Also, the room had a horrible stale smell, like a combination of thrift store and grandma's attic. Despite what is written in their listing on booking websites, (free continental breakfast), there isn't one. I was not told that they stopped serving breakfast at the end of October upon check in. My bad, I guess I should have either asked or consulted the hotel website. In the morning, I was just told, "there's no breakfast." I was only offered a yogurt, but with words to the effect that it should still be good. Umm, no thanks. Airing out the rooms and updating the listing on booking sites should be some easy fixes.

As an underpaid young adult my life is all about getting by on as little money as possible. I like…read morea good bargain, and when I find it I never forget. Today was one of those days. It's valentines and my partner and I were searching for a romantic getaway apart from the phoney overpriced dinner reservations and other typical "spend money for love" experiences that Patagonia wearing Seattle-ites expect on this holiday. However, we did want to do something special. For us that meant a trip to the peninsula, complete with day hikes and a few nights of camping (which is our typical three day weekend go-to). In this case we wanted to find a motel with a kitchenette to have a romantic dinner/night in. After failed attempts of booking the goatel (on 101 and hwy 20) we landed in PA at sportsmen. The brother and sister who checked us in were lovely. The room was a perfect size for two people, with a glorious little kitchen and full size fridge. It's on the east side of the city with a long walk downtown, but we weren't interested in spending a night in town anyways. The price was cheap (off season) and the room was clean with a nice firm mattress and even a TV if you're into that! We will definitely remember this spot and revisit it in the future!

For some, it may just be a normal size, but places I typically stay do not have enough room for a couch and coffee table, especially if there is also a desk and another table with chairs! I tend to steadily unpack everything from my suitcase as I need it and leave everything out on all available surfaces rather than put them away, so this setup with all these extra surfaces was perfect for me lol! Breakfast options were extensive and included waffles and pancakes from machines that grilled them up fresh; breakfast sausage, scrambled eggs, and biscuits; yogurt and Greek yogurt; milk and OJ; bread, bagels, and pastries (as well as a toaster); coffee, cream, syrup; oatmeal and a few cereals; and I might even be missing more. Breakfast is available 6-10am. They have what seems like a perfect amount of parking for the number of rooms, because I swear that each time I peeked out the window late at night I spotted a few open stalls. The location is great because it's just off the highway on a main street with quick access to things a lot of people might want, e.g., Costco and Walmart.

You can hear activity but it died off around bedtime. Price was a bit more expensive than I like, but it was in the middle of high season in the summer and was similar with other hotels around it. No welcoming smile, unlocked the door and didn't even hold it open for us. Not sure if he even knew much English... "sign". We go out to find the room, looking around the lot, he just pointed up; our rooms were above the office. Helpful info he could have imparted on check in. Very scraggly slippery stairs up. Someone could prolly get a big payoff tumbling down. Room was freezing; no problem. Turn on heat at "Heater". Nothing. The other white unit not labeled heater actually got it going. The pics speak for the condition of the place. I will say the bathroom was decent seemed freshly painted. In the pics you see that tv setup. It speaks for itself. Worst part is it didn't work! Neither did my sons next door. Likes: nice big fridge and micro! 2 Cafs and real cream at the coffee maker. Wood floors. Don't get me wrong I'm not some kind of snob. This place was really cheap. But we had stayed the night before at an Econolodge in Jackpot Nevada that was perfect for that same price. The rude clerk started the whole thing off, and the condition of this place reflected the attitude. Some ppl should not be in hospitality! Oh one last thing-a real key. Hadn't seen one in 20 years. I did not go inside but instead went back to my car and called for them to help with the situation. They told me the only thing I could do was go inside while on the phone with them, because they lived too far to come check the place out for me. There was no attendant available and I didn't feel that was a very safe thing to do but I locked the door behind me to check the place out & make sure all was clear. I was alone and it was late at night. No bears or axe murderers! They didn't have any other rooms available to offer me. I got roughly 4 hours of sleep because of the smell kept me tossing and turning. The next morning, the two cleaning ladies admitted to leaving the door unlocked for the other one and forgot to close it. They were both aware of the smell and stated they needed to go behind the building to see if there was an animal that got in underneath. The place was tidy but was a horrid animal smell. I was told that I could get half a refund back but when I called Vacasa customer service, they told me I'd get $54 refunded, which is less than half of what I paid for 1 night. A few minutes after the call, I received a text that said correction only $29 would be refunded instead. That was just wrong and upset me. I called back and after several transfers, spoke to the team leader and was able to get the $54 refund. It's too bad the place was not so great because their customer service is right on top of things and decently easy to get a live person. But when they tell you one amount then text you and say oops sorry it's actually less than what you'd already said on the phone... that is poor customer service. I'm happy that I will be getting the $54 refund. I am currently watching for it to come through. 6/9/26
