Eggs Benedict in bed. Enough said!
Janet A.

I can't say enough about what a treasure this lodge is. I'm compelled to write another review after Dwight was kind enough to suggest staying in the Creekside Suite. It was private but best of all was the fireplace seen from your bed and the deep soaking tub! An extraordinarily large bathroom suite with a shower that would hold 6 people! An adjoining sitting area overlooks the lush surroundings and has access to a large deck. The breakfast are superb and that is no exaggeration! I've stayed many times and it feels like home...no other place compared so don't look any farther!

Main bedroom area of the "Hideaway on Quail Lake" suite.

Visited the first week of August 2014. Had a great three day stay. This is more of a Bed & Breakfast operation than a lodge. We stayed in the "Hideaway on Quail Lake" suite. It has a very large bedroom with lots of windows looking out on the beautiful grounds. Two sets of French doors open up and let the breezes in. A comfortable window seat looks out over the lake. The suite also had a small kitchen with a microwave. The Lodge serves breakfast each morning. A very good breakfast. It became something we looked forward to. Bed was very comfortable with nice sheets. Large bathroom with hot tub. Small cheapie shower that looked out of place. Plenty of towels. Free and fast WiFi. Our suite was a short walk from the main lodge building. We saw no rain during our one week trip to the area. If it was rainy it might be nice to stay in the main building. Lots of good restaurants are a short drive away in Sequim. We drove to Olympic National Parks Hurricane Ridge and several other scenic areas. I would visit this place again. Our suite was a bit pricey, but worth it for a splurge.

Dungeness Bay Cottages - Carport nice for warmer weather with table/chairs.

Dungeness Bay Cottages

I'd give a 4 but our bed frame was so noisy we were praying each time we got in/out or rolled over…read moreit wouldn't collapse! We were in cottage #3 in the middle of the 6 units. Our room was the smallest I believe at $175 a night, kinda pricey but you are facing the awesome bay views and can walk the beach with the stair access right across the street. They allowed dogs $35 per night extra so that was another perk. It was all self contained with kitchen but the fridge was an inconvenient mini fridge yet a full size stove/oven & microwave. The queen bed is also in the small room. Bathroom was tight with no shelves to unpack makeup/personals, no tub just shower. It did have a carport with bench and table/chairs for warmer weather. It did have a huge nice tv although tricky to use. There was a none big lawn area behind the cottages that offered hot tub, toys, bbqs, fire pits and kayaks etc to rent w/ life jackets. We were basically alone for the 4 nights, only saw one staff member on first day. Internet worked fine. They include a kierig w/ k-cups which was nice. I was wishing I'd brought paper plates as they just had 2 heavy ceramic plates but had most basic necessities for cooking and eating, even spices, paper towels, dish and hand soap plus toothbrushes. Overall it was pleasant stay, just tight quarters, a bit pricey and noisy bed.

Dungeness Bay Motel gets 5 stars from me ... filled in and glittered over with a kiss on top…read more I've been a guest for several years. Although there are many newer, more luxurious, and more amenity-rich properties in Sequim and Dungeness, the simple charm of this property and the kindness of the hosts (John and Karin) keep me coming back. Situated like sets of side-by-side duplexes, the guest rooms are cozy and super clean. There are televisions, free wi-fi, and full kitchens but no telephones. Each cottage has its own parking space and carport for your car and bicycles. There is a pasture behind the property where cows currently graze amid the backdrop of the Olympic mountains. The front of the property are panoramic views of incredible sunsets, the bay, the Dungeness Spit, the Strait of Juan de Fuca, British Columbia, the San Juan Islands, and on and on. There is a nice bbq on the property that's available for guests to share. At night, it's pitch black and dead silent. The beauty of this respite from urban assaults on the senses can take getting used to by folks who have forgotten how magical this type of stillness is. I love nighttime walks with flashlight looking for deer. Deer are everywhere, literally, day and night. John and Karin are excellent resources for places to go and things to do if you're new to the area. They're honest and discriminating and won't steer you to a place just because it's popularly touristy; if it's not good, they'll tell you so and give better recommendations. I love this place!

Unit was clean, nicely appointed, and as a bonus had a great TV lounge and private patio outside in the backyard (great for happy hours). It was fun watching the deers stroll by and seeing the greenhouse and veggies they tend. Highly recommend.

They have several units to choose from, but we chose the "Perch", which was the largest. It didn't disappoint! We didn't even use half the space! Currently, check-in is anytime after 2:00pm. We checked ourselves in and upon entering, found a spacious "home"! Divided by a set of stairs, there is a murphy bed (sleeps 2), bath & shower, dining area and full kitchen to the left. On the dining table was a lovely note addressed to us by the hosts Craig & Michelle, accompanied by a bottle of wine and a bowl of granola bars. Then, in the refrigerator, there was a nicely adjourned box nestled with yogurts, orange juice, hard boiled eggs, fresh fruit, a small bottle of Prosecco (for mimosas) and chocolate! We turned around and on the kitchen counter was a plate of local pastries! In the room on the other side of the stairs is another bedroom (sleeping 2-3), king bed, full bath and sitting area with coffee maker and coffee pods. Downstairs by the front door is a living room with TV, comfy couch & chair, wet bar, small fridge and washer/dryer! As everyone knows, with a home or business, there will always be times of repair and/or construction. Currently, the upper deck is being repaired, so we weren't able to take advantage of that. Instead, we took a long walk along the water, watched the eagles soar overhead, waved at people passing by and enjoyed the fresh sea air! Eating at local restaurants is always a plus and enjoying wine in the evenings watching the sun lower gently on the horizon out of sight made this trip, along with our fabulous hosts, Craig & Michelle, all worthwhile. Thank you for making our local getaway a special one!
