We stayed here for my birthday trip last week. When we arrived I checked out the room and discovered it was very dirty, so we asked to be moved. We had to move twice - even after that every single room was dirty and I had to spend time cleaning it up. There was hair all over the sink, shower, toilet, and floor including someone's pubic hair. I reached out to management expecting I would receive some sort of reimbursement for how bad it was there - but received a message denying my claims although I had photo evidence. "The hotel manager, Namaste Stayton, informed me that the hotel has undergone a remodel costing $4 million, and it is neither dirty nor filthy, contrary to your comments. He stands by his decision on this matter. I understand that you may feel upset about the hotel manager's response, but we cannot override his decision from our end. Please note that as IHG is not involved in the daily operations of this independently owned and franchised hotel." Bad management and rude staff. Breakfast was the only good thing. We won't be back.

Our stay was part of a greater tour around the Olympic Peninsula. The location was very convenient, right off the highway. No one helped us from our car but trolleys were available curbside which we used. The staff was very warm and friendly. The room was clean and basic. Linens were mediocre, with average rough towels and basic bedding. The pillows were hard. We had one lightbulb that was out and the shower was a little confusing to use, apparently, you have to turn it around 360 degrees twice to get warm water. There were no luggage racks which was very annoying and meant our luggage had to be opened on the floor. Breakfast options were basic but ample for the average person, but nothing organic. The rooftop patio was lovely and a real gem for the property. The lobby bathrooms were very clean and quiet. The thermostat worked well. There was a Black Bear Restaurant right across the parking lot. Parking was ample. The location is somewhat isolated, think cows across the road. Overall it was a good BASIC stay with room for improvement. -- TIP: Visit The Oak Table Cafe in Sequim. It was the best breakfast I've ever had. -- TIP 2: The lavender farms in Sequim were not yet in bloom as of June 2. -- TIP 3: The Lodge (not the rooms) at Lake Crescent was such a delight. Great dinner, good drinks, roaring fireplace, and spectacular lakefront views. Open to anyone, not just those staying at the Lodge. Must visit! -- TIP 4: Apparently you pronounce Sequim "Squim"

Choose this hotel because of the reason that it's just next to Tesla supercharger station. The room was pretty clean , and the bed was kind of comfortable . However the AC was extremely noisy that you may need a ear plug .

Breakfast. Bummed that not self service, but you know, COVID and all...

Meh. For being a Holiday Inn Express, I wasn't too impressed. It appears to be an old hotel, with minimal updates. Carpets are stained, furniture is magic markered, and wall stains questionable. Staff were polite, but didn't offer too much information. Basically when I checked in, I was given my room key, told where the elevator was, what time breakfast was, and where the pool was. I had to later go back down and ask where the workout room was (not very impressive, didn't use) and for a map of the town. You would expect to find brochures about Sequim in the walkway into the hotel, but nope. The closest thing I found was a guide to the Lavender farms circa 2020 (but guides aplenty for Arlington and Seattle, why?!). The good: Water temperature was superb. I didn't have to wait for hot water, nor did it run out. I wanted to spend forever in the shower. Parking was ample and you could basically park so you could see your car from your room. Close proximity to Black Bear Diner - you literally walk across the parking lot and are there. Breakfast was delicious - cinnamon rolls were flaky and gooey, and biscuits/gravy were yum. Coffee okay. Serving staff were polite (still during COVID, so bummed that I could not serve myself). Other options at breakfast included eggs, sausage, French toast, oranges, bananas, oatmeal (make yourself), bagels, English muffins, muffins (which were surprisingly good for most likely being frozen and chocked full of preservatives - chocolate, banana nut, and cream cheese?), juice, and the usual array of spreads. The bed was nice and comfy, and linens were great. There is a rooftop deck, which is pretty nice/quaint. Would have used if the weather would have been a little warmer. The not so good: Furniture was pretty banged up - magic markered in lots of spots. Various stains on carpets/walls/even ceilings. There was no place to hang a hand towel in the bathroom - I had to get creative. It was super strange. I had to do a double take in the shower because it looked like someone had an "accident" - turns out it was just rust. But really?! Not up to Holiday Inn Express standards in my mind. There was tons of mold in the window sill. The faucet seemed to be a replacement, as it only cleared about 1.5 inches from the side of the sink. I kept hitting the sink whenever I tried to wash my hands/brush my teeth. Uck. There is nothing in the room - no books, guides, paper pads, pens, nothing. I was a little befuddled when they slid the bill under my door to sign and I had nothing to sign with. Is this because of COVID? I was just super confused why there wasn't even a quick one pager to remind guests of breakfast hours, pool times, etc. I had to retrieve a pen from my car to sign. So would I recommend? I guess - just don't get your expectations too high.

She asked me what was important to me and I said Leadership! Fabulous quote from the fabulous Dolly!

$279 for a room?! No thank you. I'd rather go to wdym or red lion for those prices. They are similarly $$ but nicer.

We first met the owner, Keith, at the Field Arts and Events Hall Wedding Expo. He was personable, helpful, and very accommodating. He had several suggestions--while open to all of our ideas--for where we could hold the ceremony and how we could arrange seating. He was also open to us returning in the evening so we could have amazing photos taken during the "golden hour" lighting. And to top it off, he even supplied the lavender for our wedding reception centerpieces! And as a side note, there was ample parking for our 100 guests. In the end, we can't imagine how our wedding could have turned out any better! If you're getting married on the Olympic Peninsula, you should definitely take a good look at Flatiron Fields. We could not be any happier with our experience. --CB and Edwina Bell

Because the individuals have only written one Yelp review, and it happens to be negative, they don't show up on Fern Hollow's main page. Fern Hollow is a beautiful venue for a wedding. The grounds are meticulously kept, and are truly breathtaking. Sadly, that's where my praise for the venue ends. My husband and I celebrated our wedding there a couple weeks ago. While the grounds are some of the most beautiful around, the same can't be said about the owners. I have a lot of feedback that I could share, but I feel like my experience with the owners, and their lack of hospitality, can be summed up with the following, unfortunate example: Sequim experienced HEAVY rains the day of our wedding. Heavy. Around 2pm, our pastor and his wife pulled up to Fern Hollow, to prepare for our 3pm ceremony. Myself and my bridesmaids rented Fern Hollow for lodging, and three of our cars were parked on the property, as is permitted. There were many parking spaces left available. Upon seeing our cars, our pastor pulled onto the venue and was abruptly stopped by the one of the venue owners. My pastor said, "Hi, I'm the pastor performing the ceremony this afternoon, and I happen to be a double amputee. Can my wife and I park on the property with the other cars here?" The owner replied, "I'm a double knee replacement, what's the big deal?" The owner had my pastor, and his wife, park across the street, walk through two gravel lots through the rain to get to our ceremony. I didn't hear about this until we had dinner at his house this week, and I am appalled. My husband and I, as well as my guests didn't have the best experiences with the owners, but we were going to sweep it under the rug... Until I heard this. I'm sorry to share such a negative review, but I honestly feel like it's my responsibility, after hearing the way my pastor was treated. The owner made my 86 year old grandmother, and my husband's 76 and 75 grandmothers do the same when they asked if they could park on the property, in the parking lot. The owner didn't even allow them to be dropped off on the property. They too had to walk across a busy road, through gravel lots, in the rain, with their canes, to get to our wedding. Disappointing.

"A" for effort! I hadn't gotten embroiled in the political side of things since I don't live in the…read morearea and I flew to Washington primarily based on this festival (I'm from Hawaii). I know there's some kind of feud going on between the flower factions of this-and-that but it didn't stop me from going. There's not a whole amount of information out there about the Lavender Festival so I had to do some digging before I went (mainly via Youtube) but I was pretty amazed at the collaboration and effort that goes into making this festival a reality. This is a large-scale operation that involves not only the main town but the outskirts as well: The main festival is located in downtown in Sequim. Parking is tight as the other reviewers have mentioned but I pulled into the heart of it and paid a $10 fee in a private dirt lot. When you are limited on time, you just gotta pay. It was very hot and I wasn't sure if I'd be buying a lot of things and didn't want to lug them down several blocks, so I paid for the convenience, which I didn't mind. There are a lot of vendors: food, drink, rocks, lavender stuff, flea market junk, hippie new-age stuff, crystals, plants, clothing, etc. It's like your typical farm fair. FOOD: I was really hoping to try a bunch of exotic lavender-flavored items since I've read about their lavender flavored shrimp in year's past but all I encountered were some lavender cocktails (delish) and lavender ice cream from Olympic Mountain (blew my socks off). As far as real food was concerned, it was a wash. I ordered a veggie plate from a local "Thai" vendor and it was terrible. Seating was very limited in the shade around the food stations. There was a lot of seating in and around the booze tent but it was under the hot sun, no thanks. The kid and I ended up sitting on a bunch of hay bales under a tree eating our ice cream. The kid had to wait outside of the tent while I sucked down my French Connection ($8). Toilets were porta potties scattered about the premises. The other half of the festival is on the outskirts of Sequim and some of it overlapping into Port Angeles in the various lavender farms that participate during the festival. I found out which farms were free by snagging a free periodical left in the hotel lobby and decided to visit them during the festival. Due to limited time, I couldn't visit all the festivals I had desired, so I stopped at strategic ones along the way (they deserve their own ratings). No matter if you are visiting the farms or the festival downtown itself, be sure to slather on the sun screen, take a bunch of cash, water, wet wipes and plan on meeting at common spot if anyone gets lost. I'll be coming back that's for sure. Despite whatever is going on between the War of the Lavenders, I'm grateful that this festival lives on and I am hoping it won't go away any time soon. I can imagine this festival means a lot to the economy of Sequim and its surrounding towns and I'd hate to see it dissolve due to disagreements on how it should be run. Long Live Lavender!!

"An alluringly scented festival showcasing everything handmade, unique, and lavender."…read more Sequim home to the annual Lavender Festival and draws hundreds if not thousands of crowds. Lavender farms around the area are open for tours (some require an entrance fee) and sells bundles of freshly cut lavenders and other novelty items. Each farm is different and the uniqueness definitely adds to the character of each location. Make sure to grab a Lavender Festival guide map for a detailed list of farms around the area. The Street Fair is located in downtown Sequim on Fir street. Parking can be tricky and I suggest early attendance to secure a reasonable spot. Admission is free and the fair does allow dogs on the premises. Food options are decent and the live entertainment is a nice touch. Here are the farms we visited in our quest to see the lavenders: Graysmarsh - Cash only. Options of lavender and raspberry picking. Pets not allowed. Abundance in parking however no gift shop. Fat Cat Farm - Diverse gift shop and very friendly service. Only $5.00 for u-pick lavenders and the farm grounds are simply picturesque. Dogs are allowed however mind the free roaming chickens. Cards accepted and minimum of $10 purchase. Lavender connection - Smaller gift shop however they offer a "create your own scent." There are some seating areas for tired travelers. The owners were very ice and personable. Oliver's Lavender Farm- Not as much of a crowd compared to other farms. Small gift shop located in the back of the main house and offers a good selection of various lavender products. Martha's Lane - Ice cream shop features lavender flavors. I tried the white chocolate raspberry lavender ice cream. The texture was simply amazing and the taste was a perfect marriage of raspberries, sweetness, and lavender. They also offer various types of lavenders and each row is labeled for convenience. No pets allowed as this farm is organic certified. They have a fantastic gift shop with an abundance of lavender themed items. Beware as this shop can inspire sudden gift giving. Victor's Farm - Parking was full and the farm is very popular. There were more items in the gift shop and visitors can view the process of drying out the bunches of lavenders. Make sure to walk around to the back of the farm. Live music, lavender lemonade, and seating areas makes this a wonderful pit stop. The lavender festival is a good tourist/weekend activity for all ages. Excellent community and the staff from all of the farms were helpful and pleasant.
