Fern Hollow was indeed sold in January of 2019. My husband and I bought it and have rebranded it "Creekside Haven". We just opened up the rooms on Airbnb and plan on working through the county process to get approved for events as well (previous owners didn't do this). Before you read my review, I would like to bring your attention to three reviews written below. You must scroll down to read them. Because the individuals have only written one Yelp review, and it happens to be negative, they don't show up on Fern Hollow's main page. Fern Hollow is a beautiful venue for a wedding. The grounds are meticulously kept, and are truly breathtaking. Sadly, that's where my praise for the venue ends. My husband and I celebrated our wedding there a couple weeks ago. While the grounds are some of the most beautiful around, the same can't be said about the owners. I have a lot of feedback that I could share, but I feel like my experience with the owners, and their lack of hospitality, can be summed up with the following, unfortunate example: Sequim experienced HEAVY rains the day of our wedding. Heavy. Around 2pm, our pastor and his wife pulled up to Fern Hollow, to prepare for our 3pm ceremony. Myself and my bridesmaids rented Fern Hollow for lodging, and three of our cars were parked on the property, as is permitted. There were many parking spaces left available. Upon seeing our cars, our pastor pulled onto the venue and was abruptly stopped by the one of the venue owners. My pastor said, "Hi, I'm the pastor performing the ceremony this afternoon, and I happen to be a double amputee. Can my wife and I park on the property with the other cars here?" The owner replied, "I'm a double knee replacement, what's the big deal?" The owner had my pastor, and his wife, park across the street, walk through two gravel lots through the rain to get to our ceremony. I didn't hear about this until we had dinner at his house this week, and I am appalled. My husband and I, as well as my guests didn't have the best experiences with the owners, but we were going to sweep it under the rug... Until I heard this. I'm sorry to share such a negative review, but I honestly feel like it's my responsibility, after hearing the way my pastor was treated. The owner made my 86 year old grandmother, and my husband's 76 and 75 grandmothers do the same when they asked if they could park on the property, in the parking lot. The owner didn't even allow them to be dropped off on the property. They too had to walk across a busy road, through gravel lots, in the rain, with their canes, to get to our wedding. Brides beware. This place is everything a couple would ever want for their wedding day. Beautiful grounds, lodging for your family and friends, a rustic yet elegant charm... However; none of this is worth dealing with this family. I got married there a little over six months ago and it has taken me this long to be able to relive this experience by witting a review but people need to know this information. After spending well over $12,000 for supposedly the weekend of a lifetime I'm still haunted with terrible memories. I'm not high maintenance and require crazy high customer service but I do expect my family and myself to be treated with respect. The morning of the wedding my mom locked herself out of her bedroom after a shower. Stupid accident yes, but the way it was handled was downright atrocious. Long story short my mom and I ended up in tears. You'd think a venue of that 'caliber' would have an extra set of master keys right? Wrong. A locksmith was called out and the cost we were told would be taken out of my deposit. After the big ordeal and we were let back into the room with very little time before the wedding, everything went off without a hitch and my husband and I were happily married. When booking the venue it states in the contract that all music is to be off and guests gone by 10pm. What they fail to inform you is that the owners will show up at about 8pm and stand around hovering in the corners breaking down any tables or chairs that we not being used. The table linens that I purchased and brought in were also being stripped off the tables and thrown into garbage bags without any permission. There was complete and utter disregard for the event still taking place. This venue is also very meticulous about clean up. Understandably so at the time knowing how beautiful the venue was. Sadly I regret everything about this venue because although clean up was planned I have yet to meet another bride who spend the morning after her wedding sweeping a 2400 square foot barn with a push broom. I have been working in the wedding business for three years now and although still very new with a lot to learn I will never ever recommend this venue to a single one of my brides. My husband and I are going to Vegas in a week and plan to have a 're do' wedding and get married by Elvis for redemption. read more

Absolutely gorgeous place to get married! The grounds are outstanding compared to anything else available in Sequim as of now. The barn is beautiful and there are a few areas outdoors to carry out your nuptials. The owners are on the property on your wedding day to ensure that if anything is needed or anything goes wrong they are there to help! Nothing worse than going to a place and not being able to get a hold of the owner in time of need especially on such a special day. This venue has many photo opportunities as well, from inside the home to all the beautiful nooks and bridges in the garden. I've delivered flowers there for many weddings the past few years and Patti and Jessica have always been so accommodating when it came to set up. I definitely feel confident in recommending Fern Hollow to anyone I know. read more

I've attended several events over the past couple of years here, and this place is amazing. The gardens are beautiful, the layout is spectacular and allows each family several options for ceremony and reception space. The main house is beautifully decorated and yet cozy and comfortable at the same time. Every detail is immaculate. The owners do a spectacular job of running the place professionally. Yes, they are involved in the event, but in my opinion, they are ensuring that those attending are following the rules and everyone involved is able to enjoy themselves. If you had put your time and energy into creating a wonderful venue, I'm sure you'd want to make sure that your space was respected, too. I'd highly recommend this venue! read more

Fern Hollow is hands down one of the best places to get married in Western Washington. The home, barn and grounds are beautiful and impeccably maintained. The owners are kind and gracious people. On all my visits to Fern Hollow everyone has been incredibly helpful and easy to work with. I recommend Fern Hollow every chance I get! read more

You truly cannot get any better then Fern Hollow for your venue. A perfect destination wedding location. Patti & Jessica know how to make you feel like you are right at home. The owners are on the grounds but they aren't there to help you, beware!!!!!! zero stars.

If I could give a half star, I would......as the above reviewer states, the grounds are nice, but the rude owners far outweigh the serenity of nature surrounding the barn and Bed and Breakfast facility. That beauty just happens to be everywhere in Sequim, WA, but I have personally never experienced the lack of hospitality among owners of a business that historically tends to be overly welcoming and treat you as if you are in their own home - not with hostility. We too, were greeted with the same unwelcoming response to driving into basically an EMPTY lot during a downpour, as the owner points manically to the lot across the street. My husband was not having that, and demanded to be able to drop the full carload of guests (one with back injury) off in the interior parking lot: guests who came from distances as far as Pittsburgh and Atlanta to attend this event. Southern hospitality was NOT to be had as we entered the house and were greeted with a woman firmly holding a clipboard like Nurse Ratched - stating we "could not use the bathrooms inside the house unless we were staying guests, but to use the facilities outside" (porta potties). But we were in fact not entering to use restroom, but all the extended family had been asked by the bride and groom to arrive 30 minutes early to have a family photo taken. As it continued to rain, we gathered inside awaiting the photo, but were hovered over by the owner as if we had the plague, never greeted or welcomed to Fern Hollow. I, too, like the above Bride, don't like to publicly trash on FB or Yelp posts, but reached my limit when this same owner blocked the way of a guest who had been told by "the owner" she could enter the home to change clothes after a long commute to wedding. Apparently it is a family run business and the daughter "owner" had told the guest she could enter to change. The owner inside rudely states "but I'm the owner and you must use the bathroom facilities outside" - remember this is a porta potty" !! It's raining, cold and you make a guest change in a porta potty ! Enough ! Weddings are blissful events, though can have moments of stress. Brides can be Bridezillas, but this bride handled herself with character, never showing the strain the owners were causing. She was calm, looked beyond the unfortunate atmosphere the owners generated and out in the barn "where magic happened", fun was had by all in attendance! Believe me, the family and friends attending this event did NOT allow these owners rough attitudes to get in the way of what they were all here for - celebration of marriage, even if Fern Hollow did not put out the welcome mat ! read more

A family member of mine was recently married at Fern Hollow. The venue is beautiful but is unfortunately owned and managed by a family that has no interest in providing quality customer service. I would agree with the previous reviewers comments about the incredible gardens and barn however it comes at a cost. The owners attended and micromanaged the entire wedding. Instead of alleviating any difficult or stressful situations, they exacerbated the stress by over reacting and directing blame making everyone feel badly during what should be a happy and exciting time. The bride hosted the reception in their barn. We were required to be out of the barn by 10:00 pm but, the owners were in the barn cleaning at 8:15 pm. In addition they started pressuring family members to begin cleaning by 8:45. Again, what should be a fun and exciting time was made less so because of the owners. read more
