This place is near work, so I stopped by and got a Kung Pao chicken lunch special to go. For $6.99 I got a lot of food, and it was surprisingly good - nice pieces of chicken, lots of peanuts and water chestnuts, just the right level of spice, and not overly heavy. Looking for a new Chinese spot we came across the red lantern. The place was small but clean, the service was fast and we got a lot of food for a low price. The hot and sour soup was delish. We also got combination fried rice, mogolian beef, orange chicken, Kung pow chicken, and paper chicken.. all very tasty and clean non greasy food. went here when in-laws came to visit and wanted to eat with my family. my mom works at Brea Mall and yelp pointed us to this as the closest Chinese restaurant. I arrived and immediately got scared that we won't fit as we had a party of 12. We ending up taking up all the tables in the center of the dinning area. So my parents were running late and we just ordered appetizers. This is when I started to notice something. There is probably only one chef. It felt a little slow compared to the Chinese restaurants that I've been to. However, the food comes out extremely hot (temperature wise) which is what I expect out of any Chinese food. Food is pretty good, not something I would crave. I love salt and pepper pork and this place hits the spot. I can't remember what everyone ordered but it came out alright. We of course eat family style and share what everyone picked so we ordered at least 12 dishes. I sampled them all and it was good. Only one waiter and she did pretty good for handling 12 of us and other customers. I think this place is a great take out spot, but if it gets busy... dine in would leave you starving for awhile. As I was leaving I saw a table with lots of food untouched. Not sure if they were mad because of the wait or the food tasted terrible. I'm Asian... wasting food like that is just horrible. I'd say take it home and use as left overs or something. Unless they didn't pay... I probably won't be making any visits since I'm rarely in this area but I would have to say its worth a shot for anyone who is and anyone that's local to order take out. read more

The service rushed, but attentive. The soup and fried egg roll were delicious. The entrees were disappointing - no spice at all (and there was an asterisk saying spicy). Chinese food that delivers in Brea? Awesome! We ordered chow fun, walnut shrimp, cream cheese wontons, tofu veges, and salt and pepper pork chops. I thought the tofu veges, chow fun and wontons were good but the pork chop and walnut shrimp was disappointing which are usually my favorite chinese dishes. The delivery was about 50 minutes as promised and the food was warm enough. The guy that took the order was real funny, asking my wife to stop ordering food cuz we got enough. lol. Was looking for a chinese take out on my way home..saw this place was closeby and got good reviews! my sister and I absolutely love it. Food wasn't salty or oily at all. Most of what I have had here is really good. The teriyaki chicken is excellent. I also really like their orange chicken and spring rolls, but I am a fried rice lover and I think they have the worst fried rice I have ever had (hence the 3 stars). It's just rice with a tad bit of soy sauce and a small piece of egg; and I've had it at least 3 times and it's always bad. So yes go here, but skip the fried rice. read more

A large group of us at work thought it would be fun to order Chinese food in and try a bunch of different entrees. We ordered 10 entrees all together and everything was SO good! Two entrees stood out as super favorites: honey walnut shrimp and the sesame chicken. We had so much fun doing this and the food was so great that we will try and do it on a monthly basis. Around here, you cannot be too picky with Chinese food. This place delivers and they are usually pretty prompt. Great service too. Do not expect authentic Chinese food. You have to leave town for that. read more

This place is pretty legit. Passing through from out of town. Looked it up and decided to try based on others' reviews. Walking in you think you made a mistake. Ordered for delivery and it was super fast! They lady that answered the phone said it would take an hour, but it look like 20 min! I got black pepper beef with fried rice and it was just so good! I always end up having leftovers, even with the appetizers and lunch specials. They're really nice and sometimes give us free cream cheese wontons! Ordered this last night! Loved the Steamed Chicken with Vegetables. The garlic sauce was really tasty (a little spicy, but sooooo good). The delivery service was also pretty fast.
