My absolute favorite item I ate was the sausage. Incredibly juicy and very delicious. I wish we ordered more of it instead of the bacon, in my opinion. The fried chicken wasn't dry and was very crispy. The tiramisu french toast wasn't too sweet, but I also never add syrup. My favorite part about Idyllwild is that dogs are welcome almost everywhere, as long as they behave of course. So a stroller for the pups was great at all the restaurants, but there were a few just lying on the ground under the tables. It's nice that the tables are under some trees. I will definitely come back for breakfast again to try more!

When the food came out and he brought this up to the server, she became confrontational. She said "I checked with you twice!" in an angry tone. The person in my party does not speak perfect English, so the server may have been right, but to take that tone was very off-putting. Multiple staff came over at that point and they did offer to bring mushrooms on the side, but the way the server handled her frustration came out in her tone and made the whole table uncomfortable. She angrily said "so are we good or?" and we let the situation go. Still, if I had been the one paying (the person the server took this tone with had paid for the whole table) I certainly would not have left a tip (he still did). The outdoor patio was cute and the indoor area seems fun to spend time in. They have a community bulletin board I liked too as well as their music.

The bacon, lettuce, and tomatoes were also very fresh. The shop itself is small and can get packed very easily. When it's busy expect a small wait. Seating inside is very limited, but there's plenty of spots outside. Whenever I'm back in the area I will be paying another visit!

We got the hot chocolate with a slice of pumpkin and carrot cake. We got two extra slices to go, and unfortunately, they placed them in a paper bag WITH NO protection from moisture leak. So after 20 minutes, the slices are leaking badly through the paper bag and staining the clothing of my friend, who was holding the bag in his lap. It's seriously bad that they didn't think about this and properly wrap the slices in multiple paper towels and close the bag properly. Another issue is that we took the original slices of bread to a table, but they didn't offer any plates. The guy said they don't carry any and nothing more, not even thinking that he could ask the cafe worker 20 feet away from their station for some plates for us. I had to make contact with the worker to get us the plates. While the food & drinks were good, these slip-ups caused their rating to go down to 3 stars. We'll probably come back again, and hopefully they'll have learned a valuable lesson.
