Egg foo yung and Spicy garlic crispy beef. Both were good, bottom of the foo was a little over cooked. Both sauces were very yummy. The best part here is the ambiance and service. Very fast for such a nice restaurant. Authentic flavors. Fortune cookies and pillow mints. Lunch (after the lunch specials were over) and two beers cost $33 which is a great deal, especially since we left with 1/3 of the egg foo yung and 1/2 of the beef. Rice was also included and served to us upon arrival at our table. Can't forget fried wonton chips to start. For Chinese food in Temecula this is one f the most consistent locations. The sizzling pan fried noodles (with no mushrooms) here has turned into my McDonalds fast food equivalent. Came here on Tuesday and order some food to go. The guy that helped me was super nice and the wonton soup was amazing. I came here tonight to get the same thing, and it had way too much oil in it. The chicken teriyaki was super bland and the chicken was white. Then they put a cookie soy sauce and an unwrapped fortune cookie in a bag. I have never been given an unwrapped fortune cookie before and that's a little questionable. read more

I've been ordering from Red Ginger for takeout for about 6 months and finally decided to go in and eat it at the restaurant. I wasn't disappointed. The Hot & Sour soup was delicious. Moo Shu pork flavorful & well cooked. I have had better Orange Chicken elsewhere, but it wasn't bad either. The service was attentive (it was a weekday afternoon); and the bill was appropriate for the quality of food. Interesting how some recent 5 star reviews are from folks who list themselves as being (living?) in New York and one chastising others for leaving "negative" reviews, yet when you check that profile ALL the reviews are 5 STAR. Some people must never have a negative experience, or just don't want to hurt feelings. I have a problem with people who have no balance, leaving nothing but negative or exceptional reviews - with no in between. Wow, whatever... but I digress... I like the Red Ginger and have eaten here five (5) times over that past 15 to 18 months. When we first started coming here I rated it a 4 star - I was a fan. However the past two (2) experiences regarding the food left me bummed and it dropped to a 3 star - which is still A-OK. I don't know why the flavors of the foods diminished, maybe a new chef or we just hit it at the wrong time. The ambience is quite nice, prices decent and wait staff are great. I would eat here again if the wife or friend wanted to, but I would now chose my new favorite Chinese restaurant in town (Temecula) if I get to pick. But, hey, that place (which I reviewed) could fall out of overall satisfaction compliance in the future and these two places could flip flop with the ratings. We shall see... read more

Last 2 orders from here were not very good, I am a long time customer and always recommended them, I won't be doing that anymore. The sweet and sour pork was awful like they haven't changed their cooking oil in a long time, very old tasting. The "special fried rice" was not anything special! It used to be excellent, not any more. Guess I am going to have to find a new place, very disappointed as the are very close to my house, that's why I gave them a second and third chance, but I am done. I have been eating here for over 10 years. Its the only Chinese Food place i will order from. They have many vegan and vegetarian options. I just recently learned about their tofu vegetable soup, its amazing. Simple but delicious. I also love the orange peel tofu (not on the menu but I order it a lot), or the kung pao tofu (I dont think its on the menu either, but You can order it. they also have mock meats, but I am not sure if those are just vegetarian or vegan. But many options here for everyone. The sauces I know are vegan are- orange peel. kung pao, brown sauce, spicy schezwan. You can get the hot and sour soup with NO egg, to make it vegan. read more

First let me say this was my first time having Red Ginger. I have been loyal to Jades China for the past 3 years. With all the talk around town about Red Ginger id figure let's give it a try. 1- orange chicken 1-general Taos chicken.... let's focus on these two. 1 the qualify of the mush chicken with no flavor on these two dishes. The chicken literally was like cat food nuggets, I couldn't make it past 4-5 bites on either. That's not real chicken 100% and if it is the good lord above only knows how long it's been in a freezer. Let's move onto their lo Mein- not bad not to much flavor but good noddles. Cream cheese wontons are hard to mess up so we'll give them a few points. But seriously guys has anyone who ever ate real Chinese food actually reviewed this place. I would rather go to Panda Express then every eat their ground chicken smashed into tiny nuggets. I don't even want to give it a second shot. I'd take all my money back.... Oh the BBQ pork friend rice was good so I'll give them the extra star read more

Our server was very good. She was attentive and pleasant. That being said, our food was terrible. The wor wonton soup had hardly any flavor to the broth and I have no idea what actually was in the wontons. The wontons tasted really strange and had a very dark pasty meat mix inside. There was no bbq pork slices in the wor wonton soup. I did get a shriveled button mushroom or two. The shrimp wasn't bad in the soup but the soup, as a whole, wasn't good. Our main entrees were not passable as entrees that you would eat most of. My partner's was so greasy and the noodles stuck together. Although the flavor wasn't bad (I took a taste) it was inedible because of the grease and when he can't eat something you know it's bad. The sauce in my entree tasted like it was made with a base of toilet water. Really not good at all. Trying to find a good thing to say about it, I did eat all of the bamboo that was in my dish. I noticed the server bringing the check to another table with full plates asking them if they would like to-go boxes. They declined and she repeated "no boxes?". They said no thank you. We said the same when she asked us and left our food there also. The fried noodles they give as an appetizer weren't bad at all. I can, at least, say that. We had come here about 7 years ago and it was basically the same type of experience so we decided to give it a try again since so much time had passed. I decided to stop and pick up Red Ginger tonight on my way home. Started eating my food to find a bug in it! I called to let them know and was questioned about what the bug looked like, how big it was and was I sure it wasn't orange peel. No it was a bug!!!!! I couldn't get any help until a manager called me back 30 minutes later. He too asked what it looked like and how big. Like do they have multiple bugs? It really doesn't matter what kind of bug. He did refund my money for the one meal but I thought he should've refunded my entire check. We obviously didn't want to eat any of the food. I won't be going back. read more

I will try to get quarts of it before I have to leave town to go to college again because I have not found a wonton soup to match. We were in the area and were craving Chinese so we decided to give it a try. We ordered Orange Chicken, Mongolian Beef and Chicken Wings with Gyoza/Dumplings for appetizers, those are my kids go to items so I figured it would be good right? Hmmm not in our case, the dumplings were so doughy and dry and had just a little bit of meat in them. The wings were bland the other two entrees were just okay and left us with a weird after taste. My kids were so excited to try a new place but we left unsatisfied and opted not to bring our leftovers home. We thought we would start a Christmas tradition by ordering Chinese on Christmas Day so thank you for being open. The food when picked up is all placed in a brown paper bag and stapled. As result, I hoped to get everything home and did not check at the restaurant to confirm everything was in the bag. We were short an order of fried rice. One order was supposed to have fried rice to replace the white rice , but it looked nothing like fried rice. The meals were not tasty at all. But we ordered Cashew Chicken and counted about a dozen cashews in an entire box of the entree. Cashews are usually more plentiful in the dish.
