We have been here twice since moving to town. EXCELLENT food. Friendly staff. Everything we have tried is great. Healthy too. Not much fat or heavy sauces. The Orange Shrimp is awesome and I also enjoyed the Chicken in Ginger Sauce. The Pineapple Fried Rice is good and not fatty at all. Hubby enjoyed the Egg Drop Soup and Teriyaki Chicken. Really good. Here is what you need to know about Red Ginger. First you think location at the mall? Do not worry as once you enter, you enter a restaurant with great ambiance with white linen tablecloth, live relaxing piano music (at the perfect volume, pleasant to hear and able to have conversations), and great visuals - most restaurants are loud and make you feel rushed, yet Red Ginger is different as it is relaxing and inviting, with amazing service and food. Our server, Adam, was top notch; engaging and attentive. We enjoyed the "beef on a stick" appetizer with an amazing plum sauce and avocado sushi. This restaurant came highly recommended by numerous people. I have to say, initially my husband and I were suprised by the prices. But let me tell you, the portions are very generous, the staff is willing to modify any meal as you please, and the food is delicious! Honestly, "delicious" doesn't even do it justice - I've never had Chinese food this good. I'm giving 2 stars because the food was excellent. Kudos to the kitchen staff. Lunchtime yesterday 3 friends and I walked into Red Ginger. (1pm) We were seated immediately and a server appeared within 5 minutes to take our orders. We made a complete order (two veggie rolls and two items off the 30 minute menu, house wine, waters) and explained that we had one hour for lunch. The restaurant was not busy. Two small parties and a few other tables seated here and there. Our drinks took almost 15 minutes (2-4-1 house wine). When the server dropped them off we asked for water, again. Waters were delivered 3-4 minutes later. (we're almost 30 minutes in at this point) The server left, came back, and asked us if we were ready to order. We looked at her, looked at each other, and told her that we did order. She walks away, comes back and asks who we ordered from. We replied "we gave our order to you". She got flustered, said "OMG, my brain today..." and walked away. Eleven minutes prior to our one hour limit our food was delivered. We never received our second glasses of wine. When I asked for managment, he came over and, while he did apologize, he came up with excuses as to why the service was so deplorable. They were short staffed (call people in), he was also serving (glad you're doing your job). We were offered 10% off of our bill. While I didn't make a big deal over this, if it were me (12 years in the hospitality industry) I would have taken the drinks off the bill completely since his restaurant failed to honor their own policy twice over. A few weeks ago we came in and waited forever to be seated. Then they finally sat us and we waited literally 12+ minutes for our server (she was an asian girl who was extremely rude!) to come over to our table. We gave her our drink order and waited. She never brought our drinks! We waited and waited and by this point my blood was boiling. My husband was ready to leave but I saw our server walking over to us with drinks on her tray so I said let's just wait and see. Well she brought over this other girl named Sara who was very nice and our server says "She will take care of you I gave her your drink order." Now I'm angry! Sara looked just as confused as we were. She asked the Asian girl what the drink order was, and the girl just walked away. I started yelling at Sara at this point because I was angry. I tried to call up there later to apologize to Sara because I know how it is dealing with angry customers but people told me there is no Sara that works there. I just wanted to send a message to the manager that whoever that Sara girl was, she was very professional and tried her hardest to get us to stay but we were so angry my husband just stormed out of the building. I want her to know it wasn't her fault (I'm pretty sure she knew it was just a rare occasion) and even though she offered us to be in a quiet section where we wouldn't see the other server, we left anyway. I just revisited this evening with my work colleague. The food was just OK. My chicken tasted bland and the sauce was barely warm. The food took a long time to get back to the table. Service is horrible. The server smelled like cigarette smoke and didn't ask if we wanted more wine. I asked again about Sara, and the server responded with "Who?!" I don't think we'll be returning to Red Ginger. My husband will not step foot in there again. I felt terrible for weeks for how we treated Sara and it wasn't even her fault. Although, for someone who knew a lot about the food and restaurant itself, it amazes me that no one there knows who she is. She seemed to have had experience with the place. Weird! The wine was really good. I see there's a free glass of wine with check in using yelp. I wish I would've seen that sooner. read more

After coming here a couple times I can finally post a fair review of both sides to the restaurant. The sushi is very good and reasonably priced. The lunch specials are well worth it and fill you up. The dining area is also very nice. Good ambiance. The food is a dressed up version of Chinese take out. Except for the HOT POTS!! We came here last Christmas Eve. We were in the process of moving into our house moved and had no food and it was one of the few places open. I ordered sushi and it was phenomenal. I had sparkling wine and it was a 2 for 1 special. It was very clean and there was a gentleman who played piano. Good service and amazing food. I hope to go again soon. read more

Based on the reviews that I read on Yelp, my family and I decided to try out Red Ginger and were very satisfied. The Pineapple Shrimp and Shrimp with vegetable dishes were perfectly seasoned and well prepared. The service and ambiance great. We'll definitely plan on returning when we're back in town. read more

Returned here for lunch. I love their Lamb in Ginger Garlic Sauce! Once again Emily was our server. As always provided excellent service. My friend had the house special fried rice. We have gone to Red Ginger for 14 years at the Suntree location. We have generally gotten good food and good service. However, the last two times we have been there we have had really bad food. One of the times we ordered the honey walnut shrimp, it came out with pecans instead of walnuts. We asked if they would remake the dish and they said "no" because they didn't have any walnuts....so we would have to eat it just as is. No sorry, no nothing. But the one that has made it where we will never go in there again, was two weeks ago....my 86 year old mom ordered pine nut chicken.....when her lunch came out, her plate had about 30 live ants crawling on it. Our server came and took the dish away, said nothing, and then brought out the same dish without asking if she wanted something different. The server obviously didn't say anything to the manager. As we left, we told the manager what happened and he just shrugged his shoulders. No sorry...no offer to pay the bill...no nothing. W all left our plates untouched because it was so gross. We had a group reservation for 6 people around 2pm and as soon as we arrived we were promptly seated and led to our table. Our server quickly took our drink order and even recommended some cocktails from the drink menu. I had the surf and turf which was a combination of filet mignon and spicy pineapple shrimp. Everyone was able to sample different entrées that we ordered together family style. Overall I would say this was probably the best Asian Restaurant I have been to and that includes beachside as well. I recommend having a ruby dragon martini and also the award winning Ginger martini. read more

This was just sub par Chinese. I recently moved to the area and really wanting Chinese, despite the prices were more than I wanted to pay, I thought I would give it a try. I ordered it for pickup because I didn't want to have to pay additional for delivery when the bill for what we wanted was already above $70. I went to pick it up and was pretty put off when I discovered it was in the mall. I went in and the restaurant is beautiful. Beautifully decorated and clean. Also had a nice touch of a guy playing piano and nice fish tanks. Looks like they had drink specials as well. The staff I encountered seemed friendly and nice. I ordered mu shoo pork. And after getting to car, I checked order and they forgot my pancakes. The mu shoo was horrible. ( and $13). I also had soup in order and lid wasn't on all the way so it was dripping all over bottom of bag and onto the car. I had to go back in to get my pancakes and chopsticks. We ordered dinner for the whole family, my brothers, husband, kids and myself. We all ordered different things and we all agreed we will never eat there again. We paid over $70 for our Order and really expected better tasting food. Very very disappointed. read more

Went to dinner here with some friends. I always spoke of this place to them so it was finally time to bring them. Everything we ordered was so wonderful and when the manager Santiago brought us our sushi my friends mouth dropped because of how amazing it looked. They all enjoyed the food, the soft music that was playing, and the wonderful service we received. Not many places have managers stepping in and actually wanting to be apart of the customer service side. Our server David was wonderful as well and always came to check on us. He also made sure our drinks were never empty. My friend liked that about about David. With such great staff (David), wonderful management (Santiago) and great food, this is reasons why I will be back again ! read more

Talk about a terrible experience! We stopped in for lunch today....huge mistake. It was one problem after another. It is literally too much to list but included undercooked chicken, a hassle ordering a dish that was on their lunch menu....that they said was not available for lunch...yet was on the menu....wrong drink order...wrong lunch order....the list goes on. I talked to the manager after the whole experience and got the feeling he wasn't really too concerned. I felt sorry for the server who seemed to be apologizing a lot to her customers. We have been here before...so maybe it was just a bad day...but with so many issues at the same visit, we will no go back or recommend this restaurant. We felt really taken when the bill came. One of the things that a annoyed me with this resturant and with any restaurant is a poorly trained staff. First issue was almost as we sat down. The geezer at the door didn't know that there was a wifi connection. The bartender did. I asked about a dish on the menu and the waitress didn't know what was in. After we ordered a couple was seated in the next booth. They end up receiving their meal before us and for the most part our waitress was inattentive. The only bright spot was the quality of the food, it was excellent. Also at end when paying we used a coupon which was not deducted from the bill. I've had take out 3 times from Red Ginger. The food was cold, tasteless and small quantities of food. The taste was so bland it gives Chinese food a bad name. I had teriyaki chicken, pot stickers, salad, rice. The rice was the best item in the Styrofoam carton. My husband had teriyaki chicken with very very bland vegetables. They open at 11:00, yet their doors weren't open. My husband called them from the mall right outside their doors and couldn't get in. We're done with this place. I stopped by on a Sunday at 1:30 in the afternoon thinking I'd grab a quick late lunch in between shopping. I sat at the sushi bar and it took a good 10 minutes for my server to even come over. He brought me the sushi menu, a water, and then I never saw him again. I just told the sushi chef what I wanted and luckily he just handled it himself. The sushi chef was great, but it was only him behind the sushi bar and he was incredibly backed up. When my drink was getting low he ran off to refill it - not my waiter. The restaurant was pretty dead at that time, and there were tons of servers, so I'm not sure why the service was so horrible. The king combo was reasonably-priced, but nothing special.
