Was very disappointed, had gone to the other red ginger on Wickham and was always very satisfied. This Red Ginger in the Mall is priced way higher, and our wine was $11.00 a glass which mind you was not even a full glass. Food was nothing to write home about and was expensive even for the early bird specials. read more

We are very regular. Love the sushi and entrees. We are however very used to slow service and have to ask for things like lemons twice and silverware after our food has arrived. We usually sit at the bar and just wish the service was up to par. read more

I came here for the first time to attend a Toastmasters group meeting and had dinner. The food and service were really good. I had a pork special over fried rice and it was seasoned perfectly and steaming hot. The portion was huge; you'll probably take some home for lunch the next day. The Red Ginger at the mall is beautiful. You don't feel like you are eating at the mall at all which was a nice surprise. We started off with the Pu Pu platter which was very good. The waitress forgot to light the center but realized her mistake halfway through and came by to give us a light. My boyfriend ordered the lamb hot pot from the lunch menu. He really liked it and the lamb I tasted was very good. I ordered sushi for lunch. The top fish roll and a seaweed salad. The sushi roll was just average. The center seemed to be filled more with filler than tuna which was disappointing. The seaweed salad was really good. The sake was excellent. A side note is that on your way to the bathroom the kitchen door is wide open. Being a typical kitchen, it is loud, smells like cleaner (which is a good thing), and a little messy(by no means was it dirty, just typical kitchen messy). Not exactly what you want to see after you eat your lunch. Another glitch was that my sushi arrived about 10 minutes before my boyfriends lunch arrived which makes for an uncomfortable wait. Do I eat my sushi? Do I wait for his meal to arrive? It's a discussion you should not have to have while eating out. Service was also very slow. It took 15 minutes to get the check. This restaurant has great potential and it's new at this location. I believe once they work out the kinks this will be worthy of 4-5 stars. We will definitely be back to give them another chance. read more

I loved the service at this restaurant. Everyone was extremely kind and pleasant. It is very nicely decorated and has an overall nice feel. I started my meal with the calamari that had a sweet ginger sauce to go with. It was very good! However, There was not much on the plate for the $9 that I paid. I ordered the Tuna tempura roll, on the chefs special. The waitress first brought out the raw version of the sushi roll but quickly corrected the order and brought out the cooked one that I asked for. While waiting I had a piece of my best friend's fried salmon roll. The breading on the roll tasted like fried pancake batter and was very soggy that it was falling off the roll. My roll came out and I had the same issue. I ended up scrapping all the breading off and just eating the roll itself. It tasted bee plain and I had to drown my roll in sauce and ginger. It wasn't horrible but I wouldn't eat here again. Not worth the price. read more

Surprised to find a good Asian restaurant at the mall. I dined here twice and both times had the White Snow Prawn served with brown rice and a cup of soup. The restaurant is clean and relaxing. The presentation is what I expect from a nice restaurant. The shrimp are butterflied and lightly dusted with potato flour and the sauce is flavorful. I enjoy seafood and most places deep fry shrimp and fish which may be easy prep in the kitchen however offsets the reason I eat seafood! I look forward to trying some other dishes my next visit. read more

I ordered (kikudon) sliced raw fish, and brown rice to go. They put my raw fish on hot brown rice..... I did not end up eatingraw fish, I ended up eating cooked steamed fish by the time I got to work. I order this type of meal all the time and I have never had the fish placed on the rice to go. Pacific Rim, Umami, Thai Thai, Siam Orchid all put the fish on ice in a separate container to avoid the fish getting warm. I probably won't order lunch from here ever again. I know they specialize in Chinese cuisine, but this should be common sense for any restaurant that serves sushi. read more

I called to place an order for pick up for lunch. I asked the person that was taking my order over the phone did an egg roll come with the soup and he replied "WHY WOULD AND EGGROLL COME WITH THE SOUP!" I was so taken back by how rude he was to me that I just simply said "I'm sorry, but I changed my mind and I am cancelling this order" He slammed the phone down in my ear and hung up on me. I called right back to speak with the manager but no one would answer the phone. I will never order from this place again. read more

Was supposed to have dinner with the girls at Red Ginger. I arrived first and sat at the bar and had a martini which was fine. When my friend arrived the bartender said he could make her a cucumber martini which was awful. He used melon liqueur not cucumbers. So she got a sour apple martini that tasted like a margarita because it was made with sweet and sour mix. Yuck. So we ordered some pot stickers at the bar while we waited for everyone to arrive. It had an overwhelming peanut sauce taste but it was edible. So everyone arrived and we got up from the bar with our plates and drinks to get a table. The guy who was seating people was so incredibly rude. He breezed by us and rolled his eyes while he told us we would have to wait as if we were putting him out! We all looked at each other like huh? So then he ignored us and a server seated us at a booth. The restaurant certainly was not crowded on a Monday evening. There were probably 5 tables taken so it's not as if they were so busy we were overlooked. So she sat us and we waited about 20 minutes and no one acknowledged we were there, brought silverware, water or anything. So we got up and left!! I've never been so pissed that I walked out if a restaurant because there was literally no service. So I can't comment on the food except drinks and potstickers but absolutely would not go back after being treated so shabbily. We went to Mangetsu Korean BBQ which was delicious. Not a fan anymore. I have always liked Red Ginger until the last few times I have ordered from them. The Quality is truly lacking. The fried rice has maybe a couple of pieces of pork in it. Its basically rice with soy sauce. I ordered a shrimp dish , and there were two half pieces of broccoli in it. They were always more expensive then other Asian places, but I never minded paying because the quality was good. I think I will have to look for a different place now that it seems something isn't right with them. I was even being generous giving them a 3 star. That's how disappointed I am. read more

Have been to this restaurant several times and was always pleased. Being from the North we were pleased to find a Chinese Restaurant we liked. However having made it a tradition with friends the past two Valentines Days we were very disappointed last Sat. to find they had a different smaller menu for the night. The choices were limited. If you did not like spicy you were very very limited. Really spoiled our day. Hope this is not a sign . May try again. But definitely not on V Day. read more

Server was a douche and over charged us for beer that was suppose to be on special, charged me for their f-up when they mistakenly gave me the wrong food and I called them out on it! Delivery takes longer than stated and evening Manger extremely rude both times I've spoken to him. This last time he just hung up on me with the issues on the issue of the delivery time given by the app I used to order my food. He also stated that Beyond Menu is the worst app to use and that I should call the restaurant directly when ordering. I stated I could not do that because I do not have a menu. He stated that they always put menus in the delivery orders. Alas 3rd delivery and no menu. 3rd strike. read more

They messed up my delivery order. I called to complain and specifically asked for my money back and I would bring back their entire order. They refused and insisted they remake it and will give me a credit off a future order. We didn't eat the replacement because our appetites were ruined already and when we called for the credit, the owner knew nothing about it. He could see my order in their system, but still refused. I was a religiously frequent customer and for 2 years never complained so when the owner refused to honor their promise, I decided to NEVER order again and reverse my credit card payment for the erroneous order. We were looking for a place to eat on Christmas Day and settled on Red Ginger at the Melbourne Mall (Suntree location was booked). Boy was that a mistake. I have been to Red Ginger in Suntree many times and it is consistently very good. I was looking forward to trying the mall location, but it just did not live up to my expectations. Maybe it was because it was on Christmas day and all the regular chefs were off, but everything tasted "off". It was chaotic checking in, even though we did have a reservation. Once seated, our waitress was very nice and tried hard, but as the food slowly came out, some of it was cold and most of the dishes tasted a little "funny". Three members of our party started to feel nauseated, so we quickly paid our tab (and we did receive a discount due to some of the problems we had) and headed home to claim bathrooms for the evening. I gave it 2 stars because the waitress was so nice and they did try to make things right. I think I will stick to the Suntree location from now on, unless I need to prep for a colonoscopy. read more

Yikes. I went here for sushi. There is one sushi chef and he must be pulling the fish out of the water it took so long for the rolls to arrive. It's not like they were busy and the waitress even said "It'll take a while". The waitress was surprised that all we wanted was sushi and I guess that means "Please don't come refill our water until the sushi is ready". The sushi was good, but it came out a bit different than it was listed on the menu and it caught us off guard as we thought perhaps we got someone elses food. It was funny, we got 3 roles on 3 giant plates so it took up the whole table. The waitress asked "uhhhh do you want some plates or something for yourself?". Duh, we go the rolls to share. I don't get it, you have a sushi bar, shouldn't this be apart of your normal service? The atmosphere was nice, but the whole experience was a bit off.
