I've never been disappointed by the food at Lucky Garden and I always have leftovers.

I had the honey chicken lunch special with the fried rice and wonton soup and absolutely nothing tasted good. The honey chicken was not very fresh, the wonton soup had a weird yellow tint to it and the inside of the wontons were dark brown. The fried rice had zero veggies in it and tasted like nothing. There was nothing that I actually liked. I hate bashing small businesses but when nothing works, I waste my time and money and I hate that. read more

Food is great had the egg foo young shrimp for me pork for my husband. The kitchen staff is great however, there is a Caucasian gentleman who works up front and gives direction therefore possibly the owner or manager; he is rude, beyond rude. I shouldn't have to argue w a restaurant when I complain. I've been ordering from this restaurant for over 4 years. when I order Kung Pao, i always order extra spicy and the entree has crushed red peppers in it. Tonight, I ordered Kung Pao and it literally had NO spice. the woman I spoke to said they no longer have the crushed red peppers and that they use an oil. this is not consistent w past orders. then I spoke to the manager and she contradicted what the first woman told me and said that they did have peppers. I asked that they simply refund me for that entree. she said she didn't know how! Really, I'm now supposed to wait until Monday when you call your credit card company to figure something out that you should have known how do as soon as you opened business. I still don't know if they discontinued using the dried crushed red peppers or not, but they certainly are not capable of listening without cutting you off, they are not capable of handling a customer complaint and feel it's ok to further inc their loyal customer. Time to find a new Chinese restaurant. Lucky Garden needs to do more than just cook food. I'm not surprised by their other ratings. read more

My family and extended family has tried Lucky Garden about 8 more times after my initial review, and I will say that I must've been there on a REALLY bad day on my initial review. The food is much tastier than last time, and the crab rangoons and eggrolls are able to be bitten into. I don't what happened on that day that made the food bad, but their food as of late has been consistently delicious. So much so, I deeply apologize for my previous bad review. One of my favorite foods of all time is fried rice. Their fried rice had much more vegetables this time around, and the flavor of the shrimp stands out more too. Not to mention I can actually taste some Chinese wine and soy in the rice now too. Also, every dish comes with a small size of white rice, which I love to use in making my own fried rice the day after! My wife absolutely loves crab rangoon and egg rolls, and we were saddened/angered in our first try of Lucky Garden. Suffice to say, their crab rangoon and egg rolls now are delicious and we always have several of them on our order now. The other regular dishes we get, lo mein sweet and sour chicken, are just as good as before. Some new choices my family have made are the egg foo young and the mushu. We've gotten them multiple times and they consistently taste great. Again, I apologize for my previous review, but I was just being honest. I would like to say that Lucky Garden has definitely redeemed themselves in my and my family's eyes. We will definitely come here again if we're craving Chinese food. read more

This is an update of my review from previous years it's hard for me to say this but the quality has gone downhill. The fried rice is very bland and so is the rest of the food. I don't know if it's a lack of caring in their part but the food is just not as good. And that's why Im giving them two stars now. It is a shame because this used to be the best place in the area In my opinion. For example I ordered chicken wings from them and they were rancid and unpalatable . This was the first time we've ordered take out from here. We thought the prices were good compared to where we normally order from. The taste of the food was pretty average compared to other American Chinese takeouts. I had the orange chicken and my takeout container was stuffed full. The crab Rangoon was very good and the egg rolls were okay. Not the best Chinese we've had in Melbourne but, for the price we will definitely be ordering again. read more

Quality is gone IT is so sad, we always loved this place, but the quality of the food is just not there anymore. we have been going there since 2012 but I guess now we have to look for a new place. Broken glass in my food and my teeth filling got messed up never again all these damn oriental food people never want to give back money instead offer you more food!!!!! We ordered from this establishment last night for the first time. My husband got beef and snow peas as well as shrimp in lobster sauce and I got the bourbon chicken dinner platter. Normally when you receive a dinner platter two-thirds of the containers full of rice and about one-third is full of your chosen entree but they definitely share the same container usually one of the rectangular ones. Not at Lucky Garden. They gave me an entire quart dish Full of Bourbon Chicken put the rice on the side and gave me an egg roll plus soup as part of their dinner combination. The bourbon chicken look like they took some chicken and chopped it up and then cooked it in a sauce rather than little anemic bits of hard chicken that was old or the chopped into tiny little pieces so it looks like more. It looks like actual homemade chicken. It was cooked wonderfully the sauce was sweet and savory without being cloying or thick or overly sweet without any balance. I am incredibly impressed just the portion size alone of edible food would be a great deal but this was far past edible for Chinese takeout. It was delicious and I have food for four days just from one dinner platter that was $13 I think. I highly recommend this establishment above any other Chinese takeout that I have ever ordered from. It's Americanized Chinese food but it's very good for what it is like exceptional so if that's what you wish to have this is a great place to get it and the prices can't be beat for the quality and quantity you get. Literally no one gives you an entire court just like if you ordered from the plain menu without it being a combination. I honestly believe that two or three people could easily eat a combination dinner platter and be fully satisfied sharing it. I could not recommend this place more my husband also enjoyed his food. THANKS FOR IMPLYING I'M A DEADBEAT! This was one of my favorite Chinese restaurants up until this evening when I went to order dinner for the family. I'm a little outside the normal delivery area, but as I'm always good for a $60-$80 order (plus generous tip), they always give me the benefit of the half-mile I'm outside their area. Not this time. This time (talking to a new cashier) they argue that they can't, and would never have in the past, deliver outside their area. For any price. When I asked if they had new management/owners, she said no but she'd ask "the boss" if they could deliver for what was at this point a $78 order. She came back and told me they could deliver, but it had to be cash payment because "we don't want you charging back the food on your card"! Wait, what?!? I've never charged back a single thing on any of my credit cards IN MY LIFE, and you want to impune my character by telling me I'm going to charge back, to STEAL, their food. Without any prior history of that, without knowing me from Adam?!? Yeah, I'll never be back there again. Thanks for all the previous food, but that's not how you treat any customer. Oh my god this place is horrible. Went in for lunch and had the L37 broccoli with garlic sauce, fried rice, egg roll and hot&sour soup. I don't know what it was, but within 15 minutes my bowels were exploding in the Staples across the mall. Then another bathroom stop before 95 and more once I got home. This is the ONLY thing I ate today. Now I'm burning up with fever hoping to puke my guts up for relief. I guess I'll stick with the chains next time as they have better standards for food safety. Been ordering from here for quite a few years now. Definitely "Americanized" Chinese food, but very tasty. Tried most of the other local places over the years and this is our go-to (unless we're in suntree, then it's Telly's). Pickup is always ready when they say it will be, delivery is almost always faster than they say it will be. I've only had them mess up an order once, and they gave me a credit for it for next time (and honored it). Would be 5 stars but I do agree with the other reviewer who mentioned that the breaded entrees have a bit too much breading. I've found that if you ask for those selections to be "fried hard", it cooks off most of the extra, and it's not mushy. I also get the house fried rice without the shrimp, because sometimes the shrimp seems overly fishy... like, questionably so. I personally enjoy the crab rangoon and bourbon chicken. read more

I have ordered from here several times, and find the food mediocre at best - but at the price point it's a good value if you're too lazy to drive and pick up lunch (like me). Yesterday I ordered a lunch portion of Shrimp with Garlic Sauce. I have never tasted anything so bad in my life. There was no flavor to the dish itself. The shrimp was breaded and then added into the sauce making it a mushy mess. The vegetables were cooked to death, they were so mushy I couldn't even eat them. The only redeeming item for this dish was the white rice - which was cooked to perfection (and as a quasi keto person, don't eat....) I give them a -10 for the overall dish, but a +10 for the rice, which was perfect (according to the coworker who ate it). read more

Received a menu in the junk mail and put it on the counter. One night my fiance and I just felt like some Chinese and decided to give it a try! It was by far THE BEST I have found so far. Xin Da used to be where I would get my food from but they kinda stopped being very good. Lucky Garden was so yummy! HOT! FRESH TASTING! We eat here 2 or 3 times a month and have for years. There food is terrific. We usually get spicy beef lo mein, beef curry and steamed vegetables in light white sauce. All of them are delicious and freshly made to order. For several years now, they have received an award naming them one of the Top 100 Chinese Take Outs in the U.S. We always get take out or delivery. There is very little seating inside. I literally never write reviews, good or bad but today really called for it. Apart from the fact that their menu says "delivery" but couldn't deliver to my (nearby) location. I decided not to let it bother me, I place an order for me to pick up. I drive over and get home. Once I'm home I realize that they didn't give me the soup I paid for. Still no big deal- it happens. Give them a call to let them know so that maybe I could get a refund just for the price of the soup.. NOPE. They say they can only refund me 50 cents or a dollar and then hang up on me, as if that would make things better. Long story short- here I am, eating a subpar, soup-less cheat meal that I'd been looking forward to ALL WEEK. I've visited this restaurant every week since I relocated to Melbourne. After today I will NEVER go back. The employee who took my order made a mistake and I brought it to his attention. While I was willing to pay for the missing item, he began to demand that I pay with cash because of their $5 minimum credit card rule. I refused to because the error was not mine. He agreed to run my card again but got down right argumentative and refused to apologize or take any responsibility for the missing item. Chinese restaurants are every where. Our first experience, in search of NY quality Chinese take out in this area. I wish I could say it was at least acceptable. Ordered & paid online via their web site, delivered in timely fashion, portions acceptable. Dumplings, egg rolls, and lo mein tasted sour/rancid, pork fried rice had no flavor nor did it contain peas, carrots, or egg. It was more like plain white rice with a tint of color added. Krab ragoons were the only edible item. In fear of food poisoning, it all went in trash. Still waiting for my roommate to dig into her shrimp & broccoli, if she dares, to get her opinion. Bad, just bad. I went here for food a while ago and the rice was dry enough to plant cactus in. The teriyaki chicken was practically burnt to a crisp (literally all black). To top it off, the General Tso's I ordered had metal fibers from a scrubber in it. The food is literally Inedible in every sense of the word. read more
