The ambiance is very open with lots of light. It has an open kitchen so you can watch your meal being cooked. I ordered the grandpa stein ($8). This consists of 2 eggs (scrambled), potato (american fries), meat (sausage patties), and toast (english muffin toast). The meal was very good. The american fries were the best part. The waitress was very friendly. Overall I give 4 stars. The food was good, but nothing uniquely special. Will I be back? Yes the place is defiantly above average. read more

Delicious food. I was hungry and forgot to take a picture but my Greek. Omelette was jam packed with mushrooms. We also shared a piece of pumpkin roll French toast, which was killer. Our waitress was Lindsay, and was not only on top of things, but asked if we wanted some coffee to go. Honestly this is like any other basic moms and pops restaurant, but the thing thing about this place is that the customer service is really good! I got their strawberry waffle and it was okay. It kinda reminded me of eggo waffles... I also got an order of sugar bread and that was REALLY good! So I definitely recommend getting that. Nice, friendly staff upon arrival. Nice hometown atmosphere, and the options for food are nice. I got the California skillet, and was pretty pleased overall. After the addition of ketchup and sour cream (weird combo I know), the dish really came together. Alittle bland without adding any sauces. I got the cinnamon bread to go, and that was a nice treat! This place has gone downhill and pretty bummed about it. This place used to be our GO TO! Which is why I brought my family from out of town.... Came in on a Wednesday at 8:30 AM, service was super slow. We asked if there was a booth available and the guy just says "no ma'am." And slammed the menus down. Took almost 45 minutes to get our food... I ordered the egg sandwich. Only one egg on it (huge sandwich, only covered less than half the bread). Lettuce was wilted, one slice of a flimsy tomato. Had almost 5 pieces of bacon on it. French toast was good. Coffee was hot. Server was kind of rude and not genuine. Looks like we will be looking for a new breakfast spot down the road. read more

I have been here three times and each times it was very excellent. The wrap I had was splendid, the spicy chicken was delicious and the wrap itself was monstrous. Another time I had breakfast, I love night breakfast and it was an omelette to die for. So stuffed with meat and veggies and oozing with cheese. I love the Red Geranium. It reminds me of a more classy version of New Beginnings. It isn't trying to be anything its not -- just a good, fairly priced bfast place. I love their skillets and French toast options. My mom loves the omelets loaded with veggies and that they make coffee drinks fancier than just coffee. Their English muffin toast is genius. DElicious! Waitstaff has always been overly friendly and accommodating. The only downside is that it does tend to get a little loud inside. If you're with older folks or want to have a ton of conversation over the breakfast table, it might not be the ideal place. read more

A place we frequent for breakfast and lunch. Service is always good, the waits are typically reasonable and they move people fairly well. The food is always consistently delicious! We visited Red Geranium maybe 3-4 years ago for lunch and it was ok. The service was slow, place was kind of clean, waitresses were friendly and food was just ok. We decided to go again recently and found things had not changed much. We went for breakfast this time. We probably waited 5 minutes after we were seated for a waitress to come take our order. I will say, they were busy and only saw a few waitresses working so figured that was the problem. When one did come over, we put our order in while we had her there. She poured our coffee which was steaming hot, which was a huge plus as we usually find decaf coffee to be less than hot in a restaurant. She did come and refill our cups when they were empty, another plus. The food came quickly, but not really hot, warm at best. She forgot my strawberries on my waffle, but took it back and put them and whipped cream on top. The food tasted good even tho it was just warm. Even tho the dining room was full, it wasn't overly loud which was also a plus. I would go back again and hopefully the food will be warmer and tables a little cleaner. read more

I am sincerely puzzled how this cafe and receive low reviews. Just watching the plates being served to others made we wish I could live closer and patron this restaurant frequently. I was not disappointed with my breakfast or the service. Melissa was personable and kept checking in to make sure everything was going well. My beverages were being refilled despite the place was busy. I felt well care for and special. Customer service and food quality right down to fresh brewed iced tea and the homemade jams were exceptional!! Price points are reasonable and portion sizes are large. All the ingredients were fresh and tasty. In fact the portions are so big you might need a doggy bag. I called mine breakfast/lunch as it provided me two meals. I will not have to stop on my way trlabeling home as this provided plenty of food to call it breakfast/lunch. I am truly more than satisfied with my entire meal all levels imaginable. Secondly time going here and not disappointed! My husband and I were here on Tuesday this week while in the area for a medical appointment. We were here in the morning for breakfast. The Red Geranium in Wyoming is my wife's and my go-to place for Saturday morning breakfast, and sometimes lunch after church. I have had almost everything on the menu and some of the specials. The biscuits and gravy are the best I've had in 30 years, seriously. Eggs and meats are done right and the Creole Chicken Benedict, currently on the specials menu, is worth the price of admission. I love the Pig Pile, a mess of tator tots, meat, eggs, and sausage gravy. If you don't think you can go for that, there are many others to choose from. Not a fan of the omlette, I prefer something fluffier, but make another choice, there are many. Have I mentioned burgers and sandwiches? Those are tasty too with chips, fries, or onion rings. Pepsi products and special coffees complete the menu. Oh, and the wait staff? They're great but if Kate is your server you have been upgraded to first class without being charged. We prefer the Byron Center Avenue location because it's not as noisy and the food is just a touch better, bit that's my opinion and I can't give you anyone else's. I have been wanting to try this place out for awhile now due to hearing all the great reviews on Yelp. I am not usually in the areas where their establishment is located, which is why it has taken me awhile to get here. I met with a friend here during the week. She has never been here either so we were both eager to try it out. I would say my experience was just average. Nothing to rave about and nothing too terrible to complain about either. The place is very plain jane in decor. We opted for a booth because the place is very open so the tables in the middle just seem very exposed to everyone. This wasn't something my friend wanted to experience. The waitress did a good job bustling around helping out all of her tables while keeping the coffee full. My food was in large proportion to the size, easily could take some home. My only dislike is that I got an omelette made with egg whites and it was pretty watery. Maybe because I had spinach in it, which can retain water - could have been cooked a little longer. It was decent anyway, but just a note. If this place was close to where I lived, I would go again. Definitely better than some others in town, but not a place I am going to drag people to. read more

After going to the nearby IHOP the next day, Red Geranium was superior despite my love for IHOP. The local IHOP line cooks are not on their game. They also serve this interesting sugar bread as a side. Super thick cut cinnamon bread they griddle and it has a thick layer of gooey sugar on the top crust. It was tasty and I have never seen anything like it. This place gets packed so go on an off peak time to be seated without a wait. read more
