Pork belly pinwheels potato salad lentils and coleslaw
    Christy R.

Fabulous! We had the end of the day pork belly pinwheels. They were delicious. The sides are unique twist to traditional bbq sides. Lentils, potato salad and an apple coleslaw. They are a pop up inside sazon deli on Sebastopol road every Saturday. They are there until they sell out.

Pork Ribs, Beef Ribs, Jalapeño Cheddar Sausage, Pork Belly and Beef Cheek - all amazing!

Wifey and I stopped in here yesterday and it was awesome! The owner, Bob was extremely friendly, spending the time to tell us his story. The food was out of this world. The potato salad was so good!! The fresh pickled cucumbers were some of the best I've had and there were pickled grapes and kiwi that were really great! All of the meat (we had pork ribs, beef ribs, jalapeño cheddar sausage, pork belly and beef cheek) was amazing but the star of the show was the beef cheek - I've never had anything like it! I've had the best bbq all over Texas and Red Eye was right up there with them! You need to eat here! Highly recommend!!!

Red Eye Barbecue pops up every Saturday at Sazón, and it's well worth a visit. Pre-order or swing by early for the best selection--this is BBQ people line up for. The pork ribs are tender and smoky, the beef cheek is rich and melt-in-your-mouth, and the jalapeño cheddar sausage is packed with flavor (not spicy). Sides like the potato salad and tangy slaw complement everything perfectly. We were lucky enough to try the frozen custard as a special treat--and it was excellent. Quality food, relaxed vibe--definitely a spot to keep on your radar. SO GOOD. Say hi to Bobby and Brendan--the sweetest!

Not sure if this was a guest or the ranch hand.

This is the best Texas style barbecue in Sonoma county, hands down. I lived in central Texas for a quick minute and spent many of my meals around pits inhaling smoke and shooing flies away from my plates, not bothered by spending long waits in lines for the right cuts and crust. Baby brisket was done perfectly, you could cut it with your fork and melted in your mouth. Jalepeno sausage was tender, spiced perfectly and had a great snap to the casing. Potato salad and pickled goodies finished off each bite perfectly along with my local hazy IPA tall can. I cannot say enough about the food and how nice and friendly the pit boss was. Studied under Mueller and was knowledgeable of all the Austin greats. 11/10.

    Pickled fruits and veges

We got takeout food from Red Eye Barbecue for the first time today. Beef rib, pork ribs, pork belly wheel and sides of lentils, potato salad and cole slaw (along with the pickled veges and fruit). Wow! Everything was delicious. All three meats were super tasty, smokey but not overpoweringly so, and fall off the bone tender. The sides were surprising stars. At some bbq places sides are an afterthought. Not here. The best barbeque I have had in Sonoma County. And Bob, the owner, is very friendly and approachable.

    Pinwheels

The BEST BBQ! The pinwheels are unreal.. we all couldn't stop talking about how amazing they were and can't wait to have them again. The sides are so amazing too. We can't wait for our next time back!

The food here is amazing! If you're a transplant and have been looking for outstanding BBQ like you tasted in central Texas, look no farther. The ribs and cheeks have the great tell-tale smoke ring and are tender and juicy. The potato salad and cole slaw are fabulous. Every bite was delicious. I will be back frequently to get my TRUE BBQ fix. Also, the owner and sous chef are great conversationalists!

This was during their pop-up setup at Lagunitas Brewery, so I understood it wouldn't be a full restaurant experience, but the pricing still felt high for what appeared to be mostly wholesale/frozen products. The food honestly felt more like elevated Costco/Sysco-style concession food than chef-driven Cajun cooking. The fries were clearly Kirkland frozen fries, the kettle chips looked straight out of a Costco bag, and the burger patties also seemed pre-made/frozen. I was honestly fine with the kettle chips, but once you start noticing almost everything feels wholesale while paying "celebrity chef" pricing, it changes the experience. At $15-16 per item plus tip prompts at checkout, I expected more fresh or house-made elements. Food trucks and pop-ups around the Bay Area put in serious work making things from scratch, smoking meats, hand-cutting fries, or using fresh patties at similar prices. This felt more like paying for branding than craftsmanship. The loaded fries and sauces were decent, and the concept definitely has potential, but the pricing just doesn't match what's actually being served right now. I genuinely hope Chef Bradley focuses more on fresh ingredients and execution moving forward, because food trucks that actually put that level of work in deserve these kinds of prices more than frozen wholesale products do.

My boyfriend and I ordered wine, the artichoke dip, mussels, tagliatelle, 1/2 chicken, and bread pudding. There was a good variety of wine to choose from and the waitress was nice enough to give me a couple samples before ordering a full glass. We were surprised by the lemon / tangy flavor in the artichoke dip but really enjoyed it! We LOVED the mussels--this was a generous serving, and this was a great combination with the broth and sausage. The tagliatelle was clearly homemade and fresh, and the sauce was flavorful but light; the only thing I would change is the amount of peas / pea flavor. The chicken skin was perfectly crispy! Lastly, the bread pudding was literally baked fresh to the point where we almost couldn't order it. The staff told us it would be a bit of a wait, but when it took a little longer than expected, they continued to check in on us and whether we still wanted to wait. It was definitely worth it! It wasn't as sweet / cinnamon-y as other bread puddings that I've had, but was moist without being soggy and felt like a true homemade recipe. The ambiance was casual yet intimate, and despite being busy, didn't feel crowded or loud. We also appreciated that the wait staff didn't rush us out!

Didn't care for bbq sauce but nice and spicy; just needed something else. I couldn't eat the too-salty brisket but they replaced with other meats. Cable car cocktail tiny glass but yummy. Best part was the service with Madison. She was amazing! And a young guy stopped by and asked if we needed a bag for to-go containers and he was fab also! We needed a great barbecue restaurant here and, with a couple tweaks, they can do it. This place should be packed. Cute restaurant and I want it to be successful! I didn't think I'd go back but I want to give another try. Maybe include a couple store-bought bbq sauces? Good luck guys! And be sure to have hot links. The BBQ sauces were honestly inedible, way too much vinegar and so overpowering that it took away from everything else. The mac and cheese was completely bland with almost no flavor. The pulled pork was very fatty and had an extremely strong vinegar taste that made it hard to enjoy. The ribs were just ok, nothing terrible but nothing memorable either. The brisket and cornbread were probably the best parts of the meal, but even those weren't really anything to write home about. For the price and the hype, we expected much better.
