Pork Ribs, Beef Ribs, Jalapeño Cheddar Sausage, Pork Belly and Beef Cheek - all amazing!
    Derek R.

Wifey and I stopped in here yesterday and it was awesome! The owner, Bob was extremely friendly, spending the time to tell us his story. The food was out of this world. The potato salad was so good!! The fresh pickled cucumbers were some of the best I've had and there were pickled grapes and kiwi that were really great! All of the meat (we had pork ribs, beef ribs, jalapeño cheddar sausage, pork belly and beef cheek) was amazing but the star of the show was the beef cheek - I've never had anything like it! I've had the best bbq all over Texas and Red Eye was right up there with them! You need to eat here! Highly recommend!!!

Red Eye Barbecue pops up every Saturday at Sazón, and it's well worth a visit. Pre-order or swing by early for the best selection--this is BBQ people line up for. The pork ribs are tender and smoky, the beef cheek is rich and melt-in-your-mouth, and the jalapeño cheddar sausage is packed with flavor (not spicy). Sides like the potato salad and tangy slaw complement everything perfectly. We were lucky enough to try the frozen custard as a special treat--and it was excellent. Quality food, relaxed vibe--definitely a spot to keep on your radar. SO GOOD. Say hi to Bobby and Brendan--the sweetest!

We got takeout food from Red Eye Barbecue for the first time today. Beef rib, pork ribs, pork belly wheel and sides of lentils, potato salad and cole slaw (along with the pickled veges and fruit). Wow! Everything was delicious. All three meats were super tasty, smokey but not overpoweringly so, and fall off the bone tender. The sides were surprising stars. At some bbq places sides are an afterthought. Not here. The best barbeque I have had in Sonoma County. And Bob, the owner, is very friendly and approachable.

Not sure if this was a guest or the ranch hand.

This is the best Texas style barbecue in Sonoma county, hands down. I lived in central Texas for a quick minute and spent many of my meals around pits inhaling smoke and shooing flies away from my plates, not bothered by spending long waits in lines for the right cuts and crust. Baby brisket was done perfectly, you could cut it with your fork and melted in your mouth. Jalepeno sausage was tender, spiced perfectly and had a great snap to the casing. Potato salad and pickled goodies finished off each bite perfectly along with my local hazy IPA tall can. I cannot say enough about the food and how nice and friendly the pit boss was. Studied under Mueller and was knowledgeable of all the Austin greats. 11/10.

    Pinwheels

The BEST BBQ! The pinwheels are unreal.. we all couldn't stop talking about how amazing they were and can't wait to have them again. The sides are so amazing too. We can't wait for our next time back!

The food here is amazing! If you're a transplant and have been looking for outstanding BBQ like you tasted in central Texas, look no farther. The ribs and cheeks have the great tell-tale smoke ring and are tender and juicy. The potato salad and cole slaw are fabulous. Every bite was delicious. I will be back frequently to get my TRUE BBQ fix. Also, the owner and sous chef are great conversationalists!

The place was empty beside us but it was nice and quiet. They have a really nice selection of beers on tap and a good variety of food choices. They have tv's playing sports and it feels like a place where you could hang out for hours. On this visit, I tried the "Dream of Jupiter" red ale. It wasn't my favorite. A little too hoppy for my taste, but still a good drink to have with food. For food, we ordered the BBQ Nachos with Tri-tip , and some wings. The wings were pretty good with a sweet chili ginger sauce. We also tried their dry-rubbed wings, which were just okay. The nachos had good flavor, but some of the chips got kind of burnt in the broiler. The tri-tip was also a little underwhelming as it was just a bunch of small pieces that didn't have a lot of flavor. Overall, I still liked the flavor of the nachos, but I would get a side of sour cream or something else to go with it. I still really like this place and hope to come back again.

From the little table we sat at, we turned the chairs so we could face the kitchen area where the chefs were making fresh pizzas instead of staring at the bar tender with her chest hanging out (put them away, you're at work) or stare at the doorway. We weren't overly hungry but wanted to try it. The prices were pretty steep for a beer $12, and the cocktail was VERY expensive $19 after tax. Hubs decided not to order the beer but insisted I try a fancy drink so I decided on the unicorn after recommendation from our waitress. The drink was pleasantly good, not too sour or too sweet, however definitely not worth the price. Then we decided on a small bites, skillet prawns. The wait wasn't too long. We took a bite each and we were so confused at the odd flavor. It tasted like latex gloves and cleaner. Hubs tried a a second small bite of another one and spit it out. We probably shouldn't have stopped. Our waitress was really nice about it and offered to get us a new one or something else or a dessert, but we declined. She ended up taking it off the bill. Maybe skip the drinks and order a pizza.

1 STAR $76 DOWN THE DRAIN!…read more I'm extremely disappointed with both the food and the service. I ordered my food to go and specifically asked for tri-tip and chicken with MILD sauce on the side. After driving 50 miles home, I opened my order and found tri-tip and sausage instead of chicken, with HOT sauce. The hot sauce was so spicy it burned my grandbaby's mouth. I also ordered SIX pieces of cornbread, and every single one was BURNT. Completely unacceptable. Because I live 50 miles away, I couldn't just turn around and drive another 100 miles round trip to return the food or have them correct their mistakes. I basically threw $76 down the drain because the food was nasty and we couldn't even enjoy the cornbread. To make matters worse, the customer service wasn't welcoming at all. No smiles, no attention to detail, and clearly no one was listening when I placed my order. For $76, I expected my order to at least be correct and edible. Wrong meat, wrong sauce, six burnt cornbreads, poor service, and nasty food. I will NOT be back and definitely would not recommend this place.
