The oxtail was incredibly tender and flavorful though a little salty (I still ate every last bit). I've never liked festivals before but the ones they make here are divine and the set corn flavor complemented all of the flavors in the meal. Even the kale salad was great and I'm not a big salad eater. I mixed it in with the rice and sauce. The rice and peas were perfectly made as well and reminded me of home (in Panamanian and from New Yorkwhere there are many Jamaican people and restaurants). My plate was about $20 and well worth it for the amount of food I received. It seems like this is more of a take out spot but I really enjoyed my solo lunch on the patio. At $15-16 per item plus tip prompts at checkout, I expected more fresh or house-made elements. Food trucks and pop-ups around the Bay Area put in serious work making things from scratch, smoking meats, hand-cutting fries, or using fresh patties at similar prices. This felt more like paying for branding than craftsmanship.
