We targeted Red Brick as our lunch destination following a recon trip to Snowbird Mountain Lodge, NC. This place is the absolute, genuine, 100% definition of casual "dining emporium." That may sound too fancy for Red Brick but any and all accolade deserved. A menu that takes 'variety' and 'options' to a new culinary level. Flavor-packed portions that leave no one hungry. "Made to order" a welcomed phrase. Dined on MY birthday but my wife received the present - her fave Key Lime Pie, homemade, (offered in all seasons). As friendly a wait staff and hostess and cook as you will find anywhere. Echoing so many other reviewers...Red Brick Deli is a WINNER in multiple categories. Definitely a five-star delight in downtown Murphy. The waittress was very friendly and welcoming, and the service was fast. My wife had the chili -- very tasty and not overly spicy. There was plenty for a lunch. I had the "Gobbler": a thick turkey sandwich on lightly grilled rye bread. The sandwich was filled with great sauerkraut and topped with a Russian dressing. Reminded me of my highschool days eating at Ronnie's at Colonial Plaza in Orlando. I can't forget to mention the potato salad -- absolutely outstanding! I couldn't finish the sandwich, so they tightly wrapped it in plastic wrap and placed it in a takeout tray with a ziplock bag of ice. I have a vacation home in Murphy and plan to revisit this delicious deli again and again. read more

Cute little place in the Downtown area, very popular with the locals, and for good reason! I got the Chicken Salad Sandwich on Sourdough (you can tell that the bread is locally sourced--yum!!), and the chicken salad itself was a good standard, though nothing extraordinary....just a good, solid recipe. And sometimes that is quite enough! :-) The pickle was really good....cold, and crisp with a great dill flavor. The chips were store-bought. I made my order to-go, and it was all packaged quite nicely, too! I think you can count on this place for a very good quality, consistent lunch (just passing through town, so I don't know much more about it, like hours, dinner, etc.), and the service was VERY good--prompt, attentive, friendly, went the extra mile (gave me my soda while I was waiting, and re-filled my soda when I received the to-go order). Will definitely come back when I am in town, and maybe I can give that fifth star if I order something that can let them be extraordinary. read more

Pretty nice place to have a sandwich, up in Murphy NC. People there are very friendly and quick to please. My wife complained that it was cold and the manager came over to turned down the AC. I ordered a Pastrami sandwich and the potato salad and my wife had the Corn-beef on rye. Both very good sandwiches - but nothing extraordinary. Price was fair at 9.99 for each of the sandwiches but it was nothing like I had growing up in NYC. But then again - I'm not sure if they would have turn down the AC in NYC. read more

I've been here a few times. I've tried the egg and tuna salad sandwiches--both were pretty good. I have also tried the tomato basil soup, also pretty good. You can tell it is homemade. The waitress said they make fresh soup everyday. Their potato salad is also out of this world! I would absolutely recommend it. The husband and wife owner duo are super friendly and the staff is always super friendly. This place is adorable and exceptionally clean. My only "complaint" is I think they are a little over-priced. $8.99 for a half sandwich and soup is a little steep for this area, but I am always willing to fork out a little extra for a local business. read more

They have the BEST FOOD! Service was great. We went on a Saturday at lunch and they were crazy busy but still my glass never got past half-way empty, our food came fast, and everyone was incredibly friendly. Stuffed tomatoes are the best. read more

We had the best time as well as a wonderful meal! The owner circulates and speaks to all customers whenever there is a lull. His collection of Matchbox cars intrigued my son and grandson who bot collect them. All of the food we had was delicious. I can't deny the wonderful way we were treated as People when we went into the Red Brick Deli. They didn't know we were Travel Agents on a 10 day exploration of the Blue Ridge mountains. We were all about the see, do and tell of our experience. Well, after some hours of driving we found this gem. It's not fancy inside, but it is truly interesting with a down home welcome spirit. As a Vegan on the go, it was not the best place for me, but is was a good one. They accommodated me as they could and the sandwich that my traveling partner had was so huge I don't know how he even ate it. The food was deli style, so you can't expect fine dining, but you have to try the Key Lime pie. If you like tart, sweet and lots of sugar you get that and more from the help and the pie. Sometimes it is not always about the food, it's about the service and the way you feel to be made at home. Yup, if you are looking for a bite to eat and a family style that feels like you are special this place is a wonderful experience. read more

Wow, what a surprise! The sandwich I had was outstanding and the potato salad was out of this world. The entire staff was very friendly. The waitress talked me into a piece of the key lime pie. We visited this new restaurant in downtown Murphy today. It opens at 11:00 and we were one of the first customers of the day. The menu choices include a wide variety of sandwiches including vegetarian options. All the sandwiches come with a choice of sides. I ordered the Bulldog which was corned beef and pastrami with sauerkraut and Swiss cheese. My husband had the turkey and ham from the "overstuffed" sandwich selection. It was huge. We each chose the potato salad side. You can also choose your bread. Both of us chose the marble rye. The sandwiches and potato salad were delicious and the rye bread had been toasted perfectly. The wait staff was friendly and attentive. Restaurants have a hard time in Murphy but I think this is a winner. By the way, by the time we left every table was filled. read more

This is a great addition to Murphy, a place we often stop while traveling through western NC. The staff was friendly and prompt and the food was delicious. I had a turkey wrap, which was far larger than I could finish. My companion had the Gobbler and (like AH) found it tasty and satisfying. We were talked into a piece of Key Lime Pie -- the waitress said it was the best ever -- and she might be right. Homemade, tart and sweet! The owner came out and checked with folks to see if they were happy with their meals. All in all, it was a great experience and I'll never stop at Wendy's again. read more

Great sandwich place...closes around 2 or 3 so they just serve lunch. Busy place with lots of locals frequenting. Owners live upstairs and are very friendly. Waitresses are super efficient and friendly and call you by name throughout your meal. Highly recommend....did not like the cole slaw....very tasteless....and did not like the potato salad flavored with bacon.. Get the chips with your meal. Desserts are excellent and really add $$$ to your bill, but worth it! read more

Our lunch portions of a turkey club sandwich and a turkey wrap were large and tasty!
