We had lovely dinner on Sunday evening. It was a quick dinner. My husband ordered carne Asada tacos, and I had the Mexican Picidlla. Both were generous portions for a good price. The house margarita was less than desirable, but they had others on the menu that we could've ordered. It was like a very basic bottled mix. That was way too sweet. overall, it was a good experience. Oh golly, do not judge a book by its cover. Tuck in a strip mall on the perpendicular to the highway on the other side of a car wash, this place did not disappoint. The staff was attentive and while the atmosphere lacked a follow through with decoration and layout, it was fabulous food. The menu had a variety of choices- some outside of the regular fair of meet and cheese- and my dish was a step above the worn out chicken in a tortilla. Nice people: Family and myself was greeted as soon as we opened the door. Got seated pretty quickly as well. During our stay, the staff kept checking on is if everything was alright, or if we needed anything. I call that great customer service. Plenty of parking: we came during lunch time on a weekday, and they got abundant parking spaces. They share ooen parking with other establishments in the area. Quick service: Mexican restaurants I've been to tend to take their time making my order, in a good way. It's how Mexican food are prepared. You can't rushed prepping Mexican food otherwise it will be no good. But, if one restaurant can do it quick and deliver the authentic Mexican taste, it's this restaurant. This was my first time here, I read the reviews before I came in, there are a couple places around here, so I thought I would try this one first. As soon as I walked in the door I was greeted and sat at a table, the staff was there right away to take a drink order and chips and salsa followed as soon as he walked away, the chips were hot, but the salsa was "meh", I prefer a chunkier version. The place is very clean and casual. Food came out shortly after, so tasty, fresh, hot and on point. Chicken fajita salad and combo dinner meal that included enchilada,tamale and rice and beans, I don't usually eat the refried beans when I go to these places because they are usually tasteless, but this was really good and I ate most of it, had enough food to take home. The food here was really great and the service was wonderful. The salsa tasted very peppery, BUT the chips were super good and outside of the peppery-ness, the salsa was good. Well Yelpers, I am afraid I shall have to disagree with the 4&5 star assessments of El Manzanillo. With all the other Mexican restaurants in town and round about, you may want to choose carefully. Those who have read any of my other yelps know I rate Mexican restaurants regularly and they are usually all 5 star because I just love the fare. Now, before I go much further the place was very clean and did have a nice vibe. The waiter was very nice and very helpful. Food? Absolutely 5/10 or in Yelp case 2.5/5. The general salsa that came out was so full of black pepper it was all that could be tasted, it overpowered the tomatoes and as for the other usual suspects (cilantro, onion etc) there was no hint flavor wise. We could see teeny bits floating which we guessed might be the aforementioned but that was the only sign. We ordered the hot salsa and it was great. Didn't taste anything like salsa BUT it was very good. Think steak sauce with a kick. Odd but best description I can come up with. We split a chicken fajita that really was below par. Nothing glaringly wrong but once again teeny tiny pieces of chicken which meant they were dried out. There plenty of onions and g.peppers and a ton of mushrooms of all things! I actually liked them in it and it seemed a new twist I could easily get used to. The portion sizes were very small and it was only a teaspoon amount of sour cream and guacamole. The was no pico, just a few bits of tomato and mostly the cores which was very disappointing. The positive to finish on were the margaritas. If you get the extra shot - it really IS an extra shot. The sizes are small and I'm not 100% sure they are as advertised but I can't be sure, so you may ask to see the glasses before you order. read more

Wow, the other well known Mexican restaurant in town has got a new challenger and I'm a fan! Here's the down side, it feels a bit run down here. The bathroom needs some work and the staff was present but didn't seem as friendly as they should be. Here's the up side, food is outstanding! Wow, we tried two dishes and loved both. Sorry I can't remember the name but ask the waitress what the most popular dish is and that's the one I got. It's got steak, shrimp, chicken, and BACON! Yes Bacon! So good! I came here because I had a (key word had) good experience before. I ordered my dish and the amount of grease in the plate made me not eat all of it. My 16 month old son refused it as well and he never does that! I asked for a milder salsa and it came out hot like tomato soup?! The cheese dip looked melted but it was cool not even like warm. It's friendly service and fast. But I would have rather had foods based on temperatures that they needed to be. Also less grease. read more

Stopped by here for dinner and was impressed by the incredibly fast service. Ordered the Tacos de Carne Asada. Food came out very fast and portions were great! Meat was cooked well and I liked that the ingredients came on the side for you to build your tacos. Their hot salsa which came with the kit is very good, not overly spicy but adds some nice heat and flavor to everything. Chips and salsa were delicious and the margarita I ordered had a good kick to it! Great value here and I appreciate the super speedy service, definitely recommend this place! read more

The restaurant seemed clean, the server (Roberto) was fantastic, the drinks were on time and cold...but the food was absolute slop, which obviously accommodated the countless 400+ lbs. local yokels that corralled into this cafeteria atmosphere like cows from a roundup. My recommendation: lose the buffet, it's unattractive, cheap, smelly and dirty. Put in a bar with a big screen or two. Invest in a better more festive atmosphere. Focus more on increasing food quality with a smaller more precise menu, rather than serving a huge 9 page menu of mediocre crap. And please, dear God, can you not come up with a better tasting salsa?? It tastes like you poured it out of a can of V8! read more

I don't recommend this restaurant, I wanted grilled chicken on my taco salad they put fajita chicken which was fine but they also put onions and green peppers! My nephew order enchiladas and wanted red sauce they put green on them and refused to do them again without charging us!! My husband and I dined here on 1/6/18. The food was excellent as also the service. My complaint was the bill! My meal was 8.95 my husbands 9.95, we had 2 sangrias and 1 beer. The waiter brought the bill and total was 27.02 when my husband went to register the bill now became 35.39? He questioned and was told the additional was for the drinks.
