The food is excellent. I've tried 2 other Mexican restaurants in Murphy, and the pale in comparison. The service depends on who you get as a server. The young man is outstanding. The lady (possible the owner or manager) is hit or miss. Maybe she is busy, but it's hard to get re-fills on drinks and other items. AND this will ID me to her because I question her about additional charges for Ice tea and chips. I was advised that beyond 1 drink refill and/or 1 basket of chips and salsa you WILL be charged additional for them. All I would have asked is that she told me at the time I made the requests. It kind of stung - #1 I was not told, #2 I have spent over $325 there in the last 1.5 months as a single diner. I'm addicted to the food, However, I guess I will be drinking water, and not ordering guac which causes me to go through too many chips, in the future. read more

The food is good. I'm giving 3 stars because the atmosphere is "meh". I'd probably go back more if they had a liquor license. When it comes to Mexican food, our family usually skips this place and goes somewhere where we can have margaritas or beer. The service is great! But, you guys need a liquor license. read more

Pretty good. A Taqueria as opposed to full blow Mexican reteraunt. Food was flavorful, not abfive star but more than worth another visit in the future. Had small cheese dip with a taco de asada and a taco dessert chorizo. read more

This place is at the end of a strip mall, hard to see and can drive right past it. Walked in and was acknowledged and told to seat yourself. The place is small. It has a few booths and a few tables, and the wall on one side of the restaurant looked like they had filled in a door, and the plaster was still visible, was not even painted over. Someone came to take a drink order, they have no alcohol at all at this establishment no beer, no margaritas. A young man came out and brought a basket of tortilla chips and some salsa, it was thick and spicy, however, the chips were stale. Ordered the chimichanga and Carnitas, I've never had chimichangas this bad, I don't know what they used to wrap the chicken in, but it was thick and chewy. Not at all what I'm used to. They were small, and the chicken was small and cubed, not much on the inside, the taco, however, was good. There was only a few people inside, it took some time to get the food out, I would imagine only one person cooking in the back. There was some good reviews on here so that's why I thought I would try it and compare it to my other place that I reviewed the other day, to me I felt $32 for the meal was way too much especially with no alcohol involved, I was not given a bill, so I don't know what I was charged. I probably will not be back to this place , but to each their own, you might enjoy it, I wouldn't rule it out for a first time try. read more

Amazing! (I really hate using that word, when describing food. But, this was exceptionally good.) this is a small place, at the end of a strip mall. The service was super quick and attentive. We ordered Chile relleno, which was a plate of two. It was the chicken and cheese variety, with green sauce. OMG! That was delicious. Next was a couple tamales. Beef and pork, with red and green sauce respectively. Equally tasty! Finally, the tacos... Al pastor, very tasty. Asada, also on point. Finally, lengua (tongue) which was surprisingly tasty. A first for ordering that one. No regrets. It only took a few minutes for the food to come out, and the feast was on! Highly recommended! PS... beware the red bottle of sauce. We had been wanting to try this restaurant for awhile and decided to have lunch there today . Just a little about our background we lived in Tucson AZ and Southern California and have traveled all over the west where there is some great Mexican restaurants. Upon arrival the interval was very clean and the waiter was nice and took our order. My wife had the chimichanga with chicken and I had chicken burrito . I specifically asked for no cheese on anything . When our food arrived my wife's food had no cheese on Anthony and the waiter noticed and took it back and poured some sort of white stuff on her chimichanga and brought it back to the table. My burrito looked as if it got ran over by a heavy truck that was how flat it was as it looked like they put in in a press. I took a bite of the refried beans after I scraped the cheese off of it and they were cold and had little flavor. I then cut into the burrito and placed it in my mouth and it had cheese inside. Called the waiter over and he said "Oh you didn't want cheese inside either huh? ". I asked him to please just get me a couple of ground beef tacos with no cheese and he did. He never took back the plate with the burrito and cold beans. My wife said her chimichanga was just ok. No real flavor . When I got the check they still charged me for the burrito. Food was not very good, waiter failed to listen and then charged me for something I didn't eat. We found a much better Mexican restaurant in Blue Ridge which really does have great Mexican food that is equal the the real Mexican restaurants out west. read more

One of our local favorites! A wonderful family owned business that makes great tasting, always fresh and consistently good food! We have tried a variety of things on the menu and it is always great! We know we will get a great meal every time we visit - from the chips and salsa (we always get the guacamole and queso too!) to the tacos, burrito, or other dinner platters and even the tres leches cake - it's all fantastic! Our family loves this place! It's a hidden gem. So much of the menu is genuinely from scratch homemade. It's a small family run restaurant with the best service and the most delicious food. We recommend the caldo de pollo, my son loves the tamales and my daughter loves the sopes. The horchata is the best. Great find in a recently opened authentic Mexican restaurant. From the warm chips and spicy salsa to the enchiladas, beef and chicken burritos, sizzling fajitas, chile rellenos, chorizo tacos, and chicken chimichangas, our family enjoyed excellent, authentic food prepared and served by the chef. Service was casual and friendly, and seating was appropriately distanced for Covid. We look forward to eating there again when we return in the spring. read more
