My husband & I ate at Poor Parson's Pub a few days ago. It really was worth all the hype I've heard & read. I'm native to Murphy & I have not ever had a steak taste as good or be as tender at any other restaurant here. It's expensive but I've paid as much at other places with poor food quality and several drinks. It's just a small place. Hours are a little different as well.

Thursday night special is Prime Rib - done to perfection.

They say to remember it's a pub that serves food. Good food. Really good food. Servers are very attentive and well trained. White tablecloths. Black napkins. New silverware. Like you would find at a fine dining establishment. But it's a pub. The pub has a long bar and plenty of barstools and an excellent bartender. They have Guinness on draft! Beer, wine and liquor for the pub. The Master Chefs are behind glass walls right at the front of the restaurant. You can watch them do their magic. The pub is a bit noisy for table conversation. But it's a pub with TVs and some very fine dining. Hungry for a great steak or prime rib - give Poor Parsons Pub a try. You won't be disappointed. The pub opens at 4. Table seating begins at 5. Get your name on the list early if you want a table.

Bacon wrapped filet and blackened shrimp.

Everything was spot on. The steak was cooked exactly as ordered and absolutely delicious. Great service and a relaxed, upscale vibe--already looking forward to coming back."

Back home for a short visit. Traveling over the country building restaurants it was a pleasant surprise to visit Poor Parsons pub this evening in Murphy. Service was right on top and very attentive. Meal was very good everything prepared properly and fresh. Open kitchen where you can watch the food being prepared. started the meal with fried oysters which are fresh and tasty. Follow up with a fresh salad with homemade poppyseed dressing. And finished with the steak scott and grilled asparagus. Everything is very fresh and well prepared.

The food was cooked to perfection! Our family of four really enjoyed our meal. The ambiance is lovely, service was friendly , and the meal tasted amazing. I would recommend this place for locals and those passing through. What a lovely addition to Murphy.

The best meal I have had in Murphy in years! Try the steak over lobster cream. The place was hopping.

It was a little chilly, but not quite "Ohio" chilly so we sat ourselves outside with a couple of hazy IPA aka Juice Bombs from Sloop Brewery. This brew pub is sandwiched between brick buildings: Stacks, a burger pub, on the right and another commercial building on the left. Across the street is the Police, so be warned, and don't get too funky. We asked if they had food and said no but it was ok to get some take out and eat it at their table or order from Stacks (what we did) and they bring it to your table from next door. Even better. Stacks' mushroom burger and stack cheese burger were very good too. We washed those down with another set of local IPAs called Southeast by Tailgate Brewery in Nashville, TN, also very good. Some of the tables have heating lamps which would have been nice as it got chillier. Not ours. But no sweat. This place does occasionally make their own beer as well but it's primarily a brew pub which sells other beer and canned beer from all over. I'm glad we had a chance to come. Now for the drive home. Thankfully we are less than 2 hours away. Atlanta here we come!

We parked and before even going inside we went out front to take some the sun started to set too much. The mirror is done by a professional artist known for her beautiful wing designs. On the patio that we walked past to get to the inside was a live band playing, and there were a ton of cute dogs all over with their owners enjoying the music. It was the cutest sight. Inside there are 2 sections of the brewery, but they had the front closed so we couldn't use the back smaller part. I liked the small part to be honest with you. It wasn't super small, but it was much more quaint looking. Service was super friendly, offering us a samples of anything that we would like to try, but of course, we ultimately got a flight. Luckily for me , they also had the Lions game on so I was able to see the end of the game and our victory. They do have food on their menus, and I can definitely see us returning it to this location when we're in Chattanooga again.

Only the back part of the brewery was open, with an indoor and outdoor area, a couple TVs, and eclectic decor. They were running a promo: $3 for a 10 oz beer or $3 for a 16oz beer if you buy food. We got the Bird Watcher Kellerbier and Sunblaze American IPA -- both were fine. We also got the Mission-style burrito with al pastor ($11), as a Super Burrito ($2 upcharge for sour cream and avocado). This was the worst burrito I've had in a long time. Al pastor should be a balance of sweet and spicy; this was overpoweringly sweet. The side salsas had no heat, either. Mission-style burritos are known for their size, but this was a normal burrito, smaller than I would get at Chipotle. It took about 20 minutes to get the burrito which was too long.
