I only have good things to say about Buck Bald Brewing. They are located in a converted gas station and they've managed to retain the retro gas station feel of the place. The staff was super friendly and helpful. They have the outdoor tables in a tent and someone came around to turn on the heater as soon as they saw us sit at a table beside it. The draft list had a little bit of everything. I ordered the Bucks So Hard Berry Blast Tea. It was a hard tea with both fruit and hibiscus notes. It was a very refreshing alternative to beer. Nice watering hole at the edge of downtown. Used to be an old gas station now transformed into a cool brewpub. Most of the seating is outside, but most of the area is tented and the far tables do have umbrellas. Also sell some meats to munch on as well as a good selection of merchandise. They do not offer flight is beer (a big miss IMO) andI only had time for one beer, hollerin IPA, and it was very good. Looking forward to a return visit so I can stay a bit longer and try some different varieties. read more

Our go-to spot every time we are in town. At this point is tradition! We have been here three times, 9/2020, Memorial Day weekend 2021, and July 4th weekend 2021. Service is always the best. A very personable approach, very welcoming. The beers are fantastic! We've had their IPA's and their Blondes and we always buy the pork skins. It's a perfect combo. It was an old service station (ESSO). They have covered outdoor seating. Every time we come they keep adding to the cool decor. They also sell merchandise. My boyfriend is a fan and he got the stickers for his garage and his water bottle. If you're in town or just passing by. This is a must stop! The atmosphere is great! read more

Absolutely delightful brewery! Had a lot fun visiting this brewery and trying some of their selection. Very nice distinction of flavors in their brews that set each apart. Really liked their sour and stouts. Definitely worth a visit when near Copperhill. They are a dog-friendly establishment with outdoor seating that they weatherproof for the fall/winter seasons. This small town microbrewery was fantastic; eclectic atmosphere in an old service station. The patrons were mainly locals, but they struck up conversations and made us feel like one of the regulars. The bar tender was very knowledgeable and made several great suggestions - even if you don't like beer he will have you happy, with a beer in your hand before you leave. I tried several IPA & Blondes as well as a sour based on his recommendations (the sour won out this time) and my boyfriend was very happy with the Porter he had. Copperhill is about 2 hours from home, but the next time we go rafting on the Ocoee we will definitely go back to Buck Bald Brewing! When we were looking to move from Atlanta to the Blue Ridge area, it was BBB that sold us! They have a small-town community atmosphere and an awesome beer selection. We usually visit BBB at least twice a week (sometimes more), although the new Murphy, NC BBB location has cut into visit times to Copperhill. We are members of the "Mug Club" at both locations. If you are able, try to visit on Monday night for bingo at BBB Copperhill. Patrick and Sylvie (the owners) are always entertaining and you can mingle with the locals. You will also hear Clay tell a few jokes! Also try to check out the BBB Murphy location and make sure to say hello to Matt behind the bar! read more

This is a cute, garage-style brewery, that my friends and I stopped by when we were staying in Blue Ridge. Prob a 15 min drive from Blue Ridge, we decided to go check this place out and were surprised to see how quaint it was. I forget the names of the gentlemen that were helping us, but they were very friendly and allowed all of us to sample most of the beers we were interested in. I decided to go for their "sour," although I have to admit that it really wasn't a sour, it tasted more like a pie/dessert and didn't have much funk. They did have some cool decor all over the place, some boardgames for the customers to dabble in and even an outside seating area. The prices are marked for half/full pour so it's fair across the board. Def a cool spot to swing by if you're looking for a chill place to hang! read more

THE BEST! Honestly, I am not a big craft beer fan ... I prefer old fashioned watery American macro-brews. Buck Bald is different for two reasons. 1) They brew several different beers, not just variations of the omnipresent IPA. So even if you are not a 'crafty' person, undoubtedly there will be something that suit your fancy. For me, it is the Mango Tango ... a semi-sour Berliner Weisse that is absolutely delicious. 2) The proprietors, Patrick and Sylvie are simply wonderful people. Great atmosphere and beer! The proprietors Patrick and Sylvie are great hosts that love beer and treat all their patrons like family! They have by far the best outdoor patio in the area(including Blue Ridge) to enjoy beers on a nice day! Just be aware that it does get a little hot on sunny summer afternoons. This is everything that a brewery should be. It's a renovated old gas station and you can see & smell all the brewing equipment as soon as you walk in. Oh yeah, the beer is really good too! My favorites are Pistol Packing & Big Frog IPA's, & their Porter. They have many other styles as well including their Flagship Hollerin' Man Pale Ale! Definitely a MUST STOP place when in the area! They don't serve food, but you can order food to the patio from many of the local restaurants.
