    Welcome to talking rock!

Cool little Brewer out in the middle of nowhere! I've never been here before, so I wanted to try several of their beers. I ordered a Flight, which comes with four 4 ounce pours and a hefty $12 plus tax price tag. Although I enjoyed the beer varieties I had there was nothing outstanding. However, I will definitely come back some time and try them again. Rumor is that they are renovating another railcar, and that they will eventually open that for wine, which will make my wife very happy. There are a couple awesome stores across the street that have all types of unique gifts, definitely worth a look when you stop by!

Fun. Relaxed. Talking Rock Brewery isn't in the beaten path but is worth the drive. If you're headed to the North Georgia mountains, take a short side trip Talking Rock. Small little Georgia town situated just off Hwy 5, north of Jasper. One of only two craft breweries in the nation located in a train car, they have a good selection of beer types from which to choose. Bring your friends and sit inside on a cold day or hang out under their covered outdoor space. There's also an open area with Adirondack chairs and a fire pit for chilly days. The brewery is expanding, and currently renovating another rail car for a restaurant space. Talking Rock is only an hour's drive from the North Fulton area and the perfect getaway from the overcrowded spaces at Avalon and Halcyon.

Cool train brewery. Limited beer selection decent hazy. Keep working at it. You're getting there. If you want food, you'll have to Uber it as there is nothing in downtown Talking Rock.

We stumbled upon this brewery on a detour to BJ Reece's apple orchard. It was still early afternoon and really had not planned on drinking yet, but this was too cute to pass up. Limited parking but we took one of the remaining spots immediately in front of the brewery, which uses train carts to distribute the beer. You can sit inside a train car or outside under a covered patio and watch cars pass on State Route 136, the main road that passes through town. I didn't see the stills where the beer was made but I presume they are close by. We tried their "Hops Don't Add Up" IPA and they were fairly good. If you want food it's best you bring your own, but they do have snacks such as jerky, but were also selling popcorn sold on behalf of a local charitable organization. A little history: Talking Rock is a town incorporated in 1883 in Pickens County, Georgia. The population is 64, as of the 2010 census. Talking Rock had its start in the early 1880s when the railroad was extended to that point. The community takes its name from nearby Talking Rock Creek. After our beer we took a walk to neighboring Talking Rock Creek and dipped our toes in. The creek flows behind the brewery but is not immediately visible from the serving area. We also visited the cute little antique store across the street which had nice quilts, and a whole assortment of the usual collectibles.

This brewery is a hidden gem! It's so cool that it's in the old train and beers tasted amazing. We tried 9 different beers. They all were unique and great. Owner Anthony was super friendly, and provided a great service. We had such an amazing time there. And they were also dog friendly! Highly recommend!

Drove by here and had to stop! The venue is an old train car. Very cool They make all their beers and the 4 we had were all pretty tasty. My favorite was the 3:10 to Brussels. A nice Belgian wheat A really cool stop with great people! Stop in and have a flight or 2 and pretend you are on a cross country train ride!

A cute little brewery inside a train car! Talking rock is a teeny tiny town with one street, a couple of stores, and no restaurants, so I was very surprised to find that it had a brewery! We drove through there on a Friday afternoon and decided to stop and try a flight! The bartender was very friendly and knowledgable and the beers were pretty good. We were the only ones there, so unfortunately there wasn't too much atmosphere. They did tell us they are working on opening a restaurant in one of the other train cars, so I would definitely be interested in coming back to try that out!

5 stars because it is cute! It is in a train and the service is excellent. Talking rock is not a big place, in fact, I think it is advertised as the smallest town or second smallest town in Georgia. The brewery is fun and not far from a river and play ground. Antique stores surround the area too. We drove through, stopped at the river, playground, shopped and then stopped for a cold one. They did have an IPA but it wasn't my favorite. Hits the spot when you need one and I happen to be very picky when it comes to beer. I could only imagine how fun it is when there is a live band at the little outdoor stage!

After our big meal, we took the mountainous road up to Talking Rock, GA, a quaint little town with only about 6 buildings downtown. Then, right on the railroad tracks, the main attraction, Talking Rock Brewery. Nestled in a train car, Talking Rock Brewery is not only cute and eclectic, but its beer also brings people together in this small town to watch the game or just to play some cornhole. We pretty much tried all of their beers, so here's our take on them. They have a little bit of everything for everyone, like the Caboose Georgia red that's mellow up front with a good hoppy bit on the back, yet smooth. My favorite is the Pumpkin Express Pumpkin ale that's soft, mellow with a hint of pumpkin but not overbearing. Another good option is the Pullman Pub Ale that is a little thicker with a creamy head and mellow malt balancing the hop on the back. If you like dry Irish Stouts, you'll enjoy the Dart that had a range of toasty, smoky, and a slight back of the throat bitterness. John's favorite is the Party Like It's 95 Blonde Ale that is very drinkable, light, and refreshing. He also really enjoyed the Just the Ticket Pilsner that is also light, but with slightly more flavor on the back. If you like IPAs you can't go wrong with either the Run 8 IPA or the Polar Express Double IPA, both hoppy, while the Double IPA is hazy and juicy.

Fantastic brewery. We tried almost every beer on tap, and each was outstanding. Service was great. Looking forward to coming back.
