The fine beer selection/availability on Sunday, 02/28/21
R. J. R.

We enjoyed PCB! The tap room had plenty or seating yet maintained a cozy vibe, tunes were playing and, most importantly, the beers were solid (we had a few including the brown and the Helles lager). One of the owners was there tending bar and was nice enough to chat a bit about the business. These guys seem to be in it for all the right reasons which are mainly brewing styles they like and like to drink and make a couple of bucks while doing it. They are an excellent addition to downtown Jasper scene and would be a great stop before or after a bite to eat.

The beers were okay. They had a lot of beers that just didn't fit my taste palate. Cool place and decor. The staff was very pleasant.

RockSolid Brewing - Green Summers was off the chain!

Well, I never met a beer I didn't drink. And down it goes". - Norm Peterson, Cheers…read more I'm not a beer snob. I'm as ok with a tall boy PBR as I am with a craft IPA. With that being said, when I do check out a new brewery, I am a bit more critical. RockSolid Brewing is indeed rock solid when it comes to its beers. While there were no real standouts, they were all easy to drink and enjoyable. The Linger Longer Lager was crisp and clean, but lacked some depth. The Beez Knees was a very easy to drink blond ale. Phenomena was a very decent IPA. My favorite beer of this visit was the Summer of The Cicada shandy, a tasty wheat beer and lemonade brew. The brewery is big and fairly spartan and could benefit from a makeover. Service was great and super friendly. Great place to hang out if your hanging out in Ball Ground.

We ordered food at Ball Ground Burger Bus although there are other options and you can certainly bring your own food too. It's totally ok to eat here just don't make a mess. Nicole and I both tried the Bohemian Hazy which looked great but for me could have been a tad more hoppy (perhaps dry hop the recipe a little more?). We enjoyed the local art on the walls and all the activities that this Brewery sets up for locals on nearly each day of the week. I love that it attracts runner with a Humpday 5k! Now that is awesome! Had a nice time here.

Our table slanted down a bit, and that was a little awkward but the benefit was that condensation rolled to the end instead of into our laps. Also my chair had two metal dog bowls underneath that made a racket whenever I moved the chair. Our server was friendly but over shared often. For my meal I had the salmon with bourbon glaze. It was cooked properly and had good flavor. The lettuce leaf under it was different; I think I could have done without. The fish came with my choice of two sides and I picked the green beans and the cornbread stuffing. Both were quite salty. The green beans were not very green and overcooked. There were two elbow macaroni mixed in. The cornbread was mushy and covered in gravy. It tasted fine, I just would have preferred more texture. Both beers were very good. I had a sour to start that was like a very tart pink lemonade. The pink color came from blueberries but I'm not sure I detected any blueberry flavor. My second beer was That Coconut Porter and it was mellow and smooth with good coconut flavor and nice dark color. There was lots of street parking and many shops and restaurants in the area. A band began playing in the taproom next to the restaurant at some time. Also a large outdoor space that was full of kids running around playing as I was going home. Looked like a fun place for everyone.
