The other brewery I was going to visit was doing Bingo Night so I came here instead, still as one of my top options to visit. Very good beers! I've been hanging out on the other side of town at the other great brewery on my visits, but I wanted to try something new. We just came in to pick some brews up and head back to the cabin. I liked the ambience, but the (live) music was loud for my taste. Some folks like that, and the music was good, just a bit too loud. Dark-ish, but clean. Lots o' wood decor. Parking was great, especially for Blue Ridge. The beer was great, we got a pick-six sample 6-pack and liked them all. Service was friendly, but again, we just walked in and picked up. Didn't spend a lot of time with servers. I still like the other one (out of town on the opposite end), only because it's quieter. This place, though, more social! Either is a great option for good beer. read more

Fun place to go to get a cold beer when we visit Blue Ridge GA. The servers are friendly and happy you're there. We met the owner who is out going and told us how he came to acquire the brewery, he has cooking demonstration on Facebook too. The brewery has a rustic feel that makes you feel welcome while you're there. We did not try the food truck which there, perhaps next time. Take a case of their brew home with you!! read more

Stopped by here for a beer on a Saturday afternoon. Impressed with the number of beers on tap. I enjoyed the IPA and my wife enjoyed the light lager. Inside they had music by a local musician. We were on the patio most of the time until the rain started. Our kids were able to enjoy throwing the football around while the parents enjoyed their beer. Dog friendly both inside and outside. We came here on a Tuesday afternoon in November 2023. Small place with inside and outside seating. When we first walked in I thought it felt kind hot and smelled a little. I think they should have had the air blowing a little bit. It was 72 outside felt hot inside. But we got our little beers. My sister got the spiced pumpkin beer. I got the coffee porter. Both were tasty! You can get three sizes. We got the Small for $3.50. We didn't stay long just enough to head in and grab a beer and then head out to Woodstock Georgia. While that single beer is the reason I ran down the side of Main Street this past weekend, Grumpy Old Men did have lots to offer outside of this delectable beer! Spent the Birthday weekend in Blue Ridge and upon scouting out our next spot for a beer on Saturday afternoon, Grumpy Old Men popped up and I shrieked with joy and immediately thought back to discovering Choco Blanco at a little beer shop in Smyrna, GA years ago, thinking I would never come across it again...never did I think I would discover the actual spot it is brewed! So, outside of the above beer that I am a clear fan of, Grumpy Old Men Brewing offers a great space to enjoy a variety of tasty drinks. They have a great indoor space with multiple tables and bar seats, along with a cooler filled with packs of beer to take home. They also offer a small variety of packaged snacks to enjoy while onsite. This day they had a great Southern Cajun food truck, so we bellied up to a table with a few beers, fries and some dirty rice eggrolls! If outside is your thing, then they have you covered with plenty of outdoor seating. While we were there, they were hosting afternoon karaoke outside. Ventured in here with a few other couples after a nice hike in the area. Everybody tried something different and we stayed for a few. Great atmosphere. Beertender was superb, while his parents sat at the bar, interacting with us and having a general overall great time. Stopped by Grumpy Old Men Brewing on vacation. The first thing that lead me to this establishment was the name. It made me chuckle. The second thing that lead me here was the beer. After shopping in downtown Blue Ridge, we stopped by for a pint. Their location is about 5 minutes from downtown Blue Ridge. They have a gravel parking lot that isn't exactly huge, so on nice weather days, be prepared for it to be a little problematic. When we arrived, we were quickly greeted by two gentleman behind the bar (they were anything but grumpy). I asked if I could taste a few samples before committing to one. I decided on their Linden Pilsner, because I wanted something light. They have a variety of housemade beer (and tons of flavor combos, like their Churro Choco to their Strawberry Fields). I also wound up getting a t-shirt while I was there. Their merch was reasonably priced and had a variety of items like shirts, grumpy old lady shirts, koozies, and more. We sat outside on their patio. It had tons of seating, games, and was totally dog friendly. They also had a huge "monster truck" looking truck out front that's great for pics! I would recommend stopping by here if you're in the Blue Ridge area! read more

We stoped in on NY Eve and as expected the place was packed! However the staff inside didn't make you feel like you were a bother if you asked for a sample. The food truck with skewers was delish and reasonably priced. We tried the coconut porter, very good and not overly sweet, the Kris Kringle with the spice on top (don't skip this step!), two of the IPAs as well as the seltzer. Grumpy Old Men was such an awesome place!! I was on vacation in the Blue Ridge Mountains with some friends and we were looking for a place to grab some drinks after a day of exploring the town. Because of Covid, were concerned about it possibly being crowded but tables were spaced out outside and we felt safe the whole time we were there so do not worry there. Grumpy Old Men had a very diverse beer selection, from hard waters to wheats to stouts and more! I personally enjoyed the Choco Blanco the most! Such a great chocolate flavor in a hearty stout but not too heavy. I even bought a 6 pack to take home from my trip and it was just as amazing in a can as it was from a tap. My wife and I stopped by here the Thursday before Memorial Day weekend and then came back again when our sons drove up from Atlanta during the weekend. Great place. It has a tasty and varied selection of beers and the outside seating area is especially nice. The bartenders know the beers and can make good suggestions. They also have games available like Uno and Cornhole. during the week they have some snacks available like hot dogs and nachos and then on weekends they added burgers too. Not a huge selection but enough to satisfy you when you are having a few beers. The place has a welcoming and friendly atmosphere. Come for the beer, stay for the beer!!
