I've been to Aveda Red 115 several times. Never had a problem. My hair stylist was Shawna and she is pretty damn near amazing. She listened to what I wanted and took the time out to explain her ideas of what would look good and what wouldnt...and we worked together on it. Usually when people give bad reviews to a hair stylist, they aren't great clients in the first place. Hairstylists aren't psychics and if you don't tell them what you want it's hard to determine what you like. So before you bash how Shawna did your hair....someone who has years of experience doing hair and you the client who probably didn't know what she wanted in the first place think about how you were probably a bad hair "cuttee". On top of how great Shawna is...she also did my makeup for free because I had an event to go...she cares about her clients a whole heck of a lot. Also maybe she was late because she had a life as well all do and had to attend to an unforeseeable situation. You don't know and should never make assumptions about someone's credibility and responsibility based on something you probably have no idea about. I give Shawna 11 stars out of 10...for personality and making me laugh while doing my hair. read more

I have been going to red 115 salon in flagstaff for four years, two of those years I've lived in phoenix, and still drive up there just to go to that specific salon to get my hair done by LEIGHA! Shes never given me anything less than exactly what I want, she stays late, comes in early, and fixes my hair to a T! We've done everything from extensions and cuts, to pink hair, black, brown, platinum blonde, and even highlights, and shes never missed a beat. She thoroughly discusses with me what i want and what will look best, even when I don't know or cant make a decision. We've sat there for hours trying to decide what i want because I couldn't make up my mind, because she wouldn't do anything I didn't like or was unsure about. She is the best!!!! -As a side note, she does hair, NOT PLASTIC SURGERY... Megan. She wouldn't have done anything you didn't want, I know this!!! You may have gotten your hair done for years but it doesn't mean you know anything about hair! Sorry everything's not free for unhappy crybabies. I received excellent service today at the Basement Market Place Aveda Salon with RaeLynn. She did a fantastic job cutting and styling my hair. In addition, she was very generous with her time and answered my questions about future services and products to enhance my look thoroughly. She provided amazing styling tips for both day and night events and was extremely personable and kind. I felt that she was customizing the experience just for me and I very much appreciated the full pampering experience she provided. I would highly recommend her for hair care, styling, and consultation. Her personality was delightful and she was undoubtedly very skilled in personal beautification! After seeing many haircare professionals over the years, I must admit that RaeLynn was truly wonderful and a definite standout in the industry of beauty and glamour! The owners of Aveda are also equally fantastic! They always greet me by name and are quite adept at squeezing me in for appointments during the week. I have become a loyal customer at Red 115 over the past couple years because of their talented stylists. Shawna, in particular, is an expert at coloring, hair-cutting and styling. In response to one negative review, I have to wonder how clear that person was in explaining what they wanted in their haircut. Those who work in the beauty industry are not psychic. And, if someone was training under the stylist that day, the most that the trainee would have done is maybe rinse and dry the client's hair at the end of the session. I've had a trainee rinse and dry my hair once, and it was fine. I've had only positive experiences here under the care of several different colorist/stylists. Most of the negative reviews seem to be kind of petty and baseless, so go in to form your own opinion. When I hear about the other things the salon offers, like massages and manicures, I'm tempted to come in even more frequently than I already do. I just relocated to Flagstaff from California and I was looking for an Aveda salon, so I went to aveda.com and looked up flagstaff. Low and behold there was a lifestyle salon in Flagstaff. I went directly to their website at red115.com and let me tell you it was the coolest website I have ever visted. after taking a virtual tour of their two locations and checking out the menu. I decided to have a haircut and a pedicure. When I arrived at red115, I was greeted by Criag and offered tea coffee and water and introduced to my stylist Jessica. After a terrific scalp massage, i was given a great haircut. She was really cool and funny and I felt really comfortable. I went to get my pedicure and it was out of this world. My technician Christie, gave me a nice and deep massage and scrubbed and exfoliated by feet until they felt like butter. I wished I could take her home with me. I usually only go to Aveda salons because I know that I wll be treated well , but this went way above and beyond my expectations. I would definitely tell all my friends to go there. read more

After two years of living in Flagstaff.. I had to move for work.. and in doing so I lost my best hair stylist yet. Caroline Brownell's attention to detail and response to client requests is impeccable. Her talent and professional demeanor are exceptional. She harbors a relaxed environment in which a client doesn't feel pressured and she explains everything while giving sound and appropriate advice. The first time I went in to see her I was "that client" that didn't know what he wanted but "wanted something different" and she smiled, assessed my head shape, and gave suggestions appropriately. I have never been disappointed with any of the work she has done. Caroline also has a great eye for hair color and dyes... and she can actually execute whatever she tells you she is going to do flawlessly. Overall I'm very distraught to be leaving flagstaff... but hey that means that caroline now has a hole in her schedule every month that some lucky person can fill!! read more

Shawna is the most AMAZING stylist! Every time she cuts my hair I am 110% satisfied. She is a great listener and her number one priority is making me, her client, feel beautiful. She always takes into consideration what I want to do with my hair and offers helpful suggestions. Shawna cut my hair last night and it looked so good that I was sorry I had to go to bed and mess it up! But she took extra time with me to show me how to style my hair, so I'm sure I can duplicate the wonderful work that she did. I'm going back next week so she can color my hair. I have been going to Red 115 for a year and a half. I started going on the recommendation of a friend after an extremely botched cut from another salon. I went in and talked with Craig about the problem with my hair and what I was looking for, before setting an appointment. He thought that Tessa would be the best stylist for my hair type and he was right. I am always happy with my cut and recently Tessa took me from a dark brunette to a gorgeous shade of blonde. Sometimes getting an appointment that works with my schedule can be tricky, but they always find something that I am happy with. I have always been greeted warmly when I come in (or call), and the shop has always been clean. I would not consider going anywhere else. read more

My review is long overdue. I am giving 5 stars because my stylist is AMAZING! She is what they call a "Master Stylist" and is incredibly knowledgeable on ALL Aveda products and what would work best for my hair and even my skin! She gave me the best cut I've EVER had! I have gone back to see her multiple times and every time I receive the same great service! The stylist I am referring to is Alexandra! I get compliments on my hair all the time and I tell everyone to go see Alexandra at Aveda Red 115! I do feel, however, it is a little difficult to book an appointment with the front desk. At times they seem a little unorganized and a bit rude. I find it easier to just book my next appointment with Alexandra before I leave. read more

I was rather surprised at the shoddy quality of their nail skills. Mary E. did my nails... I needed a fill because my natural nails were showing beneath the tips. When I first walked in, they told me they no longer did acrylics, however Mary told me she could give me a fill. I specified that my nail was showing, and I wanted it covered, however she only filled my nail bed and filed down the worn down acrylics. Needless to say, I'm not pleased that my nails look like they've been on for months and I haven't taken care of them. They also charge $10 for a gel coating, which is generally complimentary will a fill service. I will NEVER go back for their services again! read more

Red 115 is a fantastic salon and I love many of the people who work there. Shawna is the only person I trust with my hair because I am picky and I trust her to listen to me and give me what I want. Not only that, but she's hysterically funny and I always look forward to my appointments with her. Paloma is a fantastic esthetician and Aveda scored big time when they got her! She's professional and kind. So many other people at this salon take their jobs seriously and work very hard. Shawna is your girl for cut and color. She is very experienced, intuitive and a true professional. Not only do I know her, she has worked on most of my friends. Her ability to read her clients and give them what they want is amazing. I would recommend her without hesitation! I noticed a bad review a while ago and was surprised. I love this salon for my hair cuts & color, as it is quiet, spacious, attractive, and efficiently operated. Everyone there has been welcoming & friendly. Brittany styles my hair and she is excellent. I highly recommend her, as she wants her customers to be satisfied with the results. Prices are reasonable. Aveda products are gentle & soothing. I've found this place by accident and I decided to give it a go! My stylist was amazing, funny and talented as well. I've asked John to dye my hair a blue ombré and it tuned out perfeeeeect! Despite the fact that my hair was damaged from the bleach so some parts of my hair didn't get the blue all that well. So he made me go back and do some retouched and got it all fixed up for free! I have been going to Red115 for about 2 years and I always go back to my same stylist Shawna. I am blond and have a lot of very fine hair, which is difficult to cut and texture. I always love my style and cut when I leave Shawna. In addition to know about hair and how to cut it, Shawna knows a lot about products, nutrition and ingredients and she can really help you get what you need. I really like going to this salon because they all know how to work with my curly hair. Most places I have been to cut my hair wet and when it gets dry it's always lopsided and I have to just deal with it ( usually means wearing a baseball cap). Well when I called the salon I talked to the owner who said everyone knows how to cut all hair types (not usually the case). I was so happy when I left. My hair looks GREAT! Went to Tessa - and she was able to take the "Midwest-Brassiness" out of my color. Loved her and will definitely go back. My new color really compliments rather than take over my skin tone and face. Reasonably priced so much so, that you CAN actually afford to buy the product that will keep your locks looking better longer. Literally best salon experience ever. Had Brandon as my stylist....was super thorough, meticulous, and crazy talented. Besides that, the personable experience I had just chatting with him as my dye processed, was crazy awesome. Felt like I was chatting with an old friend. I've been here 4 times this year, and the place has a great atmosphere and knowledgable staff. Erin B is the only hair stylist that I've ever recommended to a friend, and she really is all that amazing.
