So, I have decided to write this review. I had an appointment on Monday at 2:50pm for a custom facial. This was my first time to the spa. Kayla was my esthetician. She seemed very nice. The problems began when I got on the table. It was really cold in the room. I guess I expected the table and blankets to be warm considering it was snowing outside. When she started the facial, I just felt she had little to no experience in what she was doing. I have had many facials, and this was by far the worst I've ever experienced. I couldn't even relax and enjoy it because it was so bad. She was also wearing gloves that were too big for her hands, and it just felt so bad on my face. I've never had a facial where the esthetician wore gloves. I am an ER nurse, and I haven't had a facial in over a year. I was really looking forward to this. For a $155.00 facial, my expectations were high. I booked the Custom Facial online and the description I copy pasted below from Vagaro. There were a few extractions which she mostly just concentrated on my nose. I felt she was distracted or something. There was no pressure at all used when she was trying to massage my shoulders. It felt awful. I literally couldn't wait for it to be over. I felt ripped off to be honest. I would not recommend this spa to anyone after my experience.

In one sitting, Amber destroyed more than a year's worth of perfect haircuts. I have texted her about this (see photo) and her response was "unfortunately there are not many people who can have a cut that is layered, thick and course, well-blended, air-dried, kinked from a ponytail and not freshly brushed and still look great." (My hair had been brushed before I took the photos and had not been in a pony tail, not to mention the fact that previous stylists have been able to make my hair look great.) I asked for a refund. She refused saying I had to give her a chance to "stand by her work" and let her try to fix this. I refused - for obvious reasons. I also discovered that she charged me for my generous (and much regretted) 30% tip based on the cut PLUS merchandise (see photo). When I brought this to her attention she said that's the way SQUARE calculates tips, and if I'd wanted to know how the calculation was being performed I should have asked! I asked her to refund at least the tip since I am clearly not happy. She also refused. So much for standing by your work. Finally after several exchanges she decided to refund only the portion of the tip calculated on the cost of merchandise since there was "some confusion." Luckily I was able to have most of the damage repaired by a competent stylist, though it will take some time for the damage to completely grow out. The stylist who fixed my hair said the cut Amber gave me was "objectively bad," and it looked like she either didn't know what she was doing or didn't care. Either way, buyer beware.

The person I had didn't even do the color under the pattern that differentiates the nails from the other. She just did all of them one color. I could you not, the paint and design job took about 15-20 minutes total and the only reason it took that long, is because she had to use a magnet to get the cat eye effect. I was charged 85 dollars. My little sister who had much shorter and smaller nails in general because she is 8 years old got charged 55 dollars. Her design was a French tip and had two nail stickers on it. She wanted jewels, but for some reason had her pick stickers instead. I wasn't notified about the price of my nails until half way through my appointment and had no idea about my sisters until we were at the counter. I paid and didn't say anything because I figured it's my fault for not asking earlier... and sense I don't get my nails done very often, it doesn't matter that much. But now I feel justified in my frustration after trying to take them off only to realize they use the ILLEGAL MMA acrylic powder which is SO MUCH CHEAPER and makes the 140 dollar charge in total make no sense at all. Her nails ended up cracking and falling off within a few days. This set took 4 hours to take off with help from my partner because I don't own a nail drill. It completely ruined my nail filer and I used 3/4 of a bottle of brand new acetone. My nails are so sensitive, damaged, and hurt so bad. The MMA smelled disgusting, it was so gummy, and hardened literally 10 seconds after taking my hands out of the acetone which is why it took 4 hours to take off. They are taking advantage of women and little girls who have no idea about how dangerous or what MMA is and how much nails are supposed to cost. Please find somewhere else, or ask to make sure they are using the legal EMA when getting acrylic sets. I will be reporting to the Board of Cosmetology.
