The stylists were very kind and welcoming. It was clear, however, not all employees in the salon take COVID seriously. One of them wore a (approx) 2in plastic guard attached to their neck that didn't come to close to covering their mouth. Luckily, my stylist cared enough to wear a mask. For men-- make sure you confirm your stylist is an experienced men's stylist. My stylist was kind but lacked confidence and recommendations. Great location! read more

I've found my permanent salon! I am so glad I ran across Salon Brio on Instagram. The salon is SO cute and modern and in a great location downtown. Parking downtown is always a mission so plan accordingly. I booked with Brandi and she was great! She was very easy going and totally kept great conversation during my haircut. She knew exactly what to do when I showed her my inspo and gave her the down low on my hair type. She was totally awesome and I highly recommend her. I just had my hair done by Jess after not being in a salon for four years. She did an amazing job listening to what I was trying to explain I wanted and was very patient. She did not hesitate to offer her opinion when I asked for it. I love my hair more now than I have in a long time. It was clear to me that all of the stylists cares about yeast they do. As far as COVID-19 goes - they were very respectful. All clients were more than 6 feet from each other (more like 8-12 feet) - granted it wasn't slammed packed. This just tells me they're being responsible with their scheduling. However, all the stylists did wear masks. I don't know what Christina G was talking about, but if you're THAT fearful and concerned about the masks, don't go to the salon. The masks are a recommendation and many people have exemptions. Most have no desire to be disrespectful or thoughtless to others. More empathy is needed. You can find the definition on the internet. Do not waste your time or your money. They are simply inexperianced. They do not know how to cut hair and will argue with you saying your hair is not uneven. The owner will not try to fix and instead you have to go to the same awful teenager to try and get your hair fixed. Very unprofessional workers, if you don't believe me just read some of the owners responses to people with negative feedback on here and Google....wish I saw them before going to the salon. read more

I spoke with the owner of the salon before I booked my hair appointment to ensure that Brio was following safety precautions for COVID. I was assured that the salon was, so I scheduled a trim. When I arrived, the space was crowded with clients and stylists, with few (if any) attempts to distance clients from each other. Also, CDC guidelines for salons include the use of masks when social distancing is not possible. Of course, maintaining a 6 foot distance between stylist and client is impossible, which means that masks are necessary. Two of the stylists present when I arrived were wearing masks under their noses, disregarding guidelines for proper mask wear and rendering the masks completely useless. I cancelled my appointment (or, asked one of the other stylists to do so, since mine had not arrived yet although my appointment was scheduled to begin in 5 mins--how would she have had time to sanitize?) and walked out. I then texted the owner I'd been in contact with the day before when I booked. When I explained why I had walked out, she said (and this is a quote) "mask use is only necessary when you can't distance from your stylist." As she stated next, distancing is impossible between stylist and client. Given her own logic, mask use is necessary for both stylist and client. Improper mask usage, however, does not meet CDC guidelines, nor does the lack of distancing between clients. Needless to say, I will not return. Nor should anyone who believes in science. read more

Made an appointment with Kelsey and I'm super happy with the results! Went in for a balayage and she was running an August special with 20% off. The service included a wash, cut, and style. Kelsey was energetic and made me feel comfortable. She was extremely knowledgeable about hair and gave me recommendations to prevent hair breakage. I asked a lot of questions about hair dos and fonts and she happily explained everything and said I could contact her in the future if I ever have another question about anything. Absolutely love my hair. Kelsey was taking some pictures of my hair outside after the appointment and a girl came up to us and asked if she had just done it because it was so cute and she wanted to book an appointment! After completely ruining my hair with a "color remover" (that said it wasn't bleach, but was), I had the realization that I needed help and I needed it fast. That was when a quick Instagram search led me to @hairbyjesslopez. I sent her a DM and she responded SO QUICK and was able to get me in the next morning. Throughout the whole process, she made my day with great conversation, walking me through the steps of what she would be doing to fix my disaster of hair, and being honest in the best possible way the whole time. I got my hair cut here and they were amazing! Super cute salon, super sweet girls, and very professional! I was unsure of what I wanted to do with my hair and they talked me through how my specific hair would look with different cuts and helped me make a decision! The cut didn't take too long but the conversation was fun the entire time! I loved the end result and they did exactly what I showed them a picture of! I had Kelsey and I would highly recommend! don't even know where to begin. Last Saturday at a different salon I had the worst dye job of my life. I was in a full blown panic. I was searching hashtags on Instagram for a local stylist I thought could help me and I came across Brandi. And omg, I am so lucky I found her. First off, she messaged me back right away on a Saturday night! Who does that?! She was so kind and was able to get me in within 3 days. I felt an instant sense of relief when she messaged me back. The salon is the most adorable salon ever. So clean and new with an awesome eclectic feel. It's right downtown so the people watching is awesome. Within the first 3 minutes I knew I would be her client for life! I have never felt more confident in a hair stylist before I went to her she took the time to explain what she thought would be best and explained every bit along the way. She was so honest with me and never gave me unrealistic expectations. She explained this would be a process, and it was so refreshing to hear her being so honest. She was so cautious and wanted to make sure she kept my hair as healthy as possible. She's just an all around awesome stylist. What impressed me the most is she never once bad mouthed the other stylist or even asked who or where I went, even though I looked like a straight up clown . This is by far my favorite salon in Flagstaff. I was a bit hesitant to get my hair done in Flagstaff, but I am so glad I did. To start, it was super easy to text Brandi (the owner) to set up my appointment and send her my inspiration pictures. The salon itself is beautifully designed. It's modern, simple, and sooo welcoming. Upon entering the salon, all of the stylists were so friendly and professional. My stylist was Kelli and OMG she was amazing. When I sat in her chair, she already had seen my inspiration pictures and really listened to what I wanted. She was easy to talk to and really made the time fly by.
