I first stumbled upon when I saw a Facebook post about one piece heroine cards. I've been there 3 times now and they specialize in mostly sealed stock and tournaments for the different tcgs. They sell a variety of tcgs: weiss schwarz, pokemon ,one piece, Gundam, riftbound. Prices are very reasonable and fair. My third time I was able to enter my first one piece prerelease tournament. The players were so kind and patient with me and the owner and staff were super friendly making sure I could have someone teach me the basics and lending me don!! cards. Overall, a great experience both playing and buying. Will definitely continue to support this shop in the future and hope to learn how to get better at playing OP tcg. I hope they start adding pokemon to their tournaments and have some other events like trade night or model building.

I…read morerecently started collecting Pokémon cards and dragged my friends here with me after lunch in Chinatown. I had only visited one other TCG card store previously and this was a starkly different experience in the best way possible. I was immediately greeted warmly by Taylor and given an overview of what the store offered - Pokémon, Yu-Gi-Oh, Disney Lorcana, One Piece, and some accessories (e.g. play mats, card sleeves, etc.). My friends and I purchased two Paldean Fates tins and the remaining three 151 booster packs. We sat at one of the open tables whilst some other people were participating in the weekly Yu-Gi-Oh tournament. We opened all of our packs and still wanted more, so my friend went back to the counter to purchase the 151 poster pack that we had originally passed on. Within the 30 minutes that we were there, someone had purchased it! Totally understandable given the hype around this set and how reasonable this store's prices are. To scratch the itch, Taylor pulled out a box of common Pokémon cards for us to flip though. These were organized by set and by holographic, reverse holographic, etc. I ended up purchasing about 10-15 of these cards for $4. Almost all of them were $0.25 each with the exception of two that were a bit less common, which Taylor checked the market prices of and then charged me about a $1 for each - again very fair and reasonable. My hubby is a recently card collector as well but for Yu-Gi-Oh, so I picked up some goodies for him too, which included a Quarter Century Bonanza booster box containing 24 packs for $95. I mentioned to Taylor that the hubby was missing one card to complete Exodia - I knew there were different versions of these cards from different sets but Taylor immediately pieced together which card I was looking for and pulled put a binder of singles to show me. I was definitely my hubby's favorite person because that was exactly the card that he was looking for and he also pulled some rares from the booster box.

After talking to some vendors, it seems they've been here since late January. Pros + Basically like a TCG con/show, but it's every weekend + Solid group of vendors (approx 51). Lots of Pokemon, some One Piece, MTG, Union Arena, and other collectibles. Pretty friendly vendors, some are extra passionate, several degenerate rippers also. Most price right at market, but are willing to work with you if you pay in cash. + In terms of Pokemon, good amount of sealed and singles, maybe a little light on the $1000+ stuff + Decent hours, as late as 10pm for Friday. + Free parking + Free entry + Special events, like Hello Kitty, or toys + Weekly tournaments (can't attest to the attendance) Cons - A/C situation seems bad, several vendors have fans running. The midday might be rough. - Parking is slightly limited, but apparently they open up a side lot on the weekend. - Google Maps navs to this weirdly, due to how the parking lot is blocked up by Texas Children's. Make sure the instructions have you arriving via Bissonnet. - Restroom is inside the suite area, but no easy access elsewhere. Restroom conditions not bad, but also not great. - Food options in the atrium not great, but I guess some is better than none. Happy to give CCS a solid recommendation, given its permanent status, free entry & parking, and central location making it a solid contender relative to the other shows. I give Charlies Collectible Show Houston 5 god packs in an ETB, out of 5.

The community is very open and inviting (and you don't have to worry about Gamer Funk...if you smell what I mean lol). The community at this store is non-cliquey, unlike most stores in Houston. Meaning, if you don't play game A or B, then you are ignored. Not at Board and Brew; they are welcoming for everyone and the crowd regularly try each others games out. I think where this place really shines is the game room: the shop sells a ton of snacks and drinks, there's a bathroom (with air freshener and diffuser!) for long sessions, and cool ambience that fits different aesthetics. There's also a painting area for mini figs complete with lights for precision. Staff was super knowledgeable and helpful, as well! Can't say much about the pricing unfortunately, as I'm not much of a figurine player- they seemed accurate to other places though- around 80$ for sets, 20-40$ for detailed figures, and around 20$ or less for some basic / premade figures. They had a section at the back near the game room with 15$ pre-primed figures for painting if you are just into painting figs too.
