This place was so cool and the had so many things that I hadn't really seen anywhere else! I love the way they had things set up and they have subscriptions you can pay for to use certain things and areas in the store. They're subscriptions are reasonably priced as well as well worth it! I'd say this is the best place for D&D and other things alike!

This is the best-looking gaming store I've seen in the Houston area; from the "gate" that's lacquered onto the main entrance to the wooden laminate and "torches" that adorn the walls. If you're looking for ambiance, this place has it in spades. It's also the pretty much the only gaming store (that I know of) in the Sugar Land/Fort Bend area, so gamers living on the southwest side should be happy that they now have a place to play at. Unlike most comic book stores that people think about when they hear the word "geek store", this place is dedicated mostly to tabletop games like Dungeons & Dragons, Savage Worlds, X-Wing miniatures, etc. Magic the Gathering will come soon, according to the owner, once they're fully registered with the Wizards Play Network. There are also several board games on display, but I'm not very familiar with those since I'm mostly a videogame snob. :P Most of the area is taken up by tables for people to play on, and there's even a huge special back room with shelves of figurines and set pieces that you and your group can use when you reserve it. Indeed, the store seems to be dedicated to group play; they regularly set up sessions throughout the week for D&D, Savage Worlds, and other systems for players to come in and try. Players who are interested in joining can sign up on their mailing list or Meetup page in order to be notified. They've only been open for 2 weeks so nothing is set in stone yet, but so far I've seen that Wednesdays are very popular for D&D/Pathfinder, while Fridays and Saturdays tend to have X-Wing, Savage Worlds, and other games throughout the day. So if you and your group are looking for a place to play, or if you're a player that's looking to find others to form a group with, you should definitely check this place out.

I'm a long-time gamer and was searching for somewhere to play D&D after moving back to town. I LOVE Golem's Gate! I came here to join a friend's D&D game and never left! Sign ups are easy with meetup.com and the place always has the best people inside! A great place for all the gaming supplies you'd need for D&D, Magic the Gathering, Pathfinder, and so much more! Bring the kids to play a pickup board game after school or sign up for an all-day gaming event on a Saturday! So much fun!!

I first stumbled upon when I saw a Facebook post about one piece heroine cards. I've been there 3 times now and they specialize in mostly sealed stock and tournaments for the different tcgs. They sell a variety of tcgs: weiss schwarz, pokemon ,one piece, Gundam, riftbound. Prices are very reasonable and fair. My third time I was able to enter my first one piece prerelease tournament. The players were so kind and patient with me and the owner and staff were super friendly making sure I could have someone teach me the basics and lending me don!! cards. Overall, a great experience both playing and buying. Will definitely continue to support this shop in the future and hope to learn how to get better at playing OP tcg. I hope they start adding pokemon to their tournaments and have some other events like trade night or model building.

I…read morerecently started collecting Pokémon cards and dragged my friends here with me after lunch in Chinatown. I had only visited one other TCG card store previously and this was a starkly different experience in the best way possible. I was immediately greeted warmly by Taylor and given an overview of what the store offered - Pokémon, Yu-Gi-Oh, Disney Lorcana, One Piece, and some accessories (e.g. play mats, card sleeves, etc.). My friends and I purchased two Paldean Fates tins and the remaining three 151 booster packs. We sat at one of the open tables whilst some other people were participating in the weekly Yu-Gi-Oh tournament. We opened all of our packs and still wanted more, so my friend went back to the counter to purchase the 151 poster pack that we had originally passed on. Within the 30 minutes that we were there, someone had purchased it! Totally understandable given the hype around this set and how reasonable this store's prices are. To scratch the itch, Taylor pulled out a box of common Pokémon cards for us to flip though. These were organized by set and by holographic, reverse holographic, etc. I ended up purchasing about 10-15 of these cards for $4. Almost all of them were $0.25 each with the exception of two that were a bit less common, which Taylor checked the market prices of and then charged me about a $1 for each - again very fair and reasonable. My hubby is a recently card collector as well but for Yu-Gi-Oh, so I picked up some goodies for him too, which included a Quarter Century Bonanza booster box containing 24 packs for $95. I mentioned to Taylor that the hubby was missing one card to complete Exodia - I knew there were different versions of these cards from different sets but Taylor immediately pieced together which card I was looking for and pulled put a binder of singles to show me. I was definitely my hubby's favorite person because that was exactly the card that he was looking for and he also pulled some rares from the booster box.

It was my first visit, and exploring Houston's Chinatown at night just adds to the vibe. Bright lights, great energy, and cool little places like this tucked into plazas. We came mainly for the claw machines, and they definitely delivered. These aren't your usual scammy machines where you walk away empty-handed and annoyed. The win rates here are actually decent. We saw a bunch of people pulling out prizes, and we managed to win a few cute plushies ourselves. There's a wide variety of machines too, with everything from small trinkets to giant stuffed animals. This place could be a fun date spot if you're both a little playful or competitive, but honestly it's perfect for kids. The atmosphere is light and casual, and there's plenty to keep them entertained. One thing I didn't totally get was the "tufting" part of the name. After looking online it looks like you can do rug making workshops but I'm not sure where they'd host this as the place was full of claw machines. That being said we didn't check that part out, but maybe next time. Overall, Craft Land is a cool little late-night adventure, especially if you're in the area and want to mix a bit of nostalgia and prize-hunting into your night.
