Third Planet was located a quick walk from my hotel while in Houston and being somewhat a comicbook nerd, I definitely needed to check this place out and see if I needed to bring anything back with me to Florida. In some ways this place is overwheliming in the fact that its huge and there are things everywhere for you to look at. I'm one hundred percent sure that there are things there I missed purely because there is so much that your eyes can't focus on it all. They had pogs, xmen action figures, comics, mugs, t shirts- I mean, I could ramble on forever... They've got a huge selection of comics and toys. If you're looking for anything specific in either, I'm sure they've got it there. While I was there I was offered assistance multiple times by different people so they are on it when it comes to customer service which is great. So many cool vintage toys to choose from. This place is perfect for anyone who likes ANYTHING comic book related. I'm optimistic that you'd find something here and the prices are reasonable which makes it even better!

Always drove by this place on 59 and finally decided to stop in. They have a decent selection. A very very limited Manga or anime section - the items they did have none had a complete collection. Nice place to browse and the staff was friendly!

Like many of the modern comic book stores, Bedrock City Comic want to make everyone who walks through their door as welcoming as possible. They have specific sections for kids and shelves that's just local Houstonian artists created works or books for new comers to start from. This store is definitely well organized and there's plenty of things to browse for. Sometimes there will be special artists event such as Gene Luen Yang stopping by for a meet and greet and signing. They certainly stock up as much of the creator's works as possible for people to buy and get it signed the same evening. This store also have a good selection for the hardcore collectors when it comes to buying Golden Age comics, statues, and special limited edition collectibles that you don't really need it but you want it just because. When I am around on this side of the town, I will always try to make time and stop by here just to take a look, who knows what I will find that trip.

The Funko pops had a good selection but all priced at 17 dollars some of them are worth that but not every one of them. It's a cute store just not something I'll come back too . Let's go to Popgun I call Shotgun…read moreYou think that you're an active shooter Really? And with what gun? Last night I got into your place and I got gun Went to the river and right into it I dropped gun So go see if it's in its hiding place, you'll find there's not gun And here's to when the only guns in USA are Popguns. One of the best collectibles stores we've ever been to. But let's talk about guns in general. If we want, we should fill our lives with as many fake guns, play guns, toy guns, anime guns, and fun guns as we need, as we want, as we can handle. And all the crappy Van Damme action movies we can get, shooting ranges too if you want, AirSoft, LaserQuest, Paintball, you name it. All of it. Bring it on. What we shouldn't do is have actual guns, at all, anywhere. I come from a place where there aren't any actual guns, basically, and nobody gets shot. Shootings just aren't a thing. Sure we stab each other, we're a violent bunch. Fist fights, yep. Broken bottles in the face, ew. Welcome to the UK. Bunch of hooligans. But what we don't do, is shoot each other. Guaranteed, if there was an abundance of guns legally for sale, we all would. No doubt. It's not an American thing. It's a gun thing. Get rid of the guns, wait a decade or so, you'll notice an eerie lack of shootings in the US. Already happened in Australia. It's blatantly obvious, not sure why it would even be a debate. Hard to debate in this country because people are just... so... d.... do me a favour and let's talk about the store now. Couldn't believe it when this place opened up in a lovely neighbourhood not far from where we live. Right off 59. It's so great for kids and collectors and those who are into this stuff. They have normal business hours but they're often working late and at all kinds of hours, because the place is a real labour of love. Easily one of the best collectibles stores I've ever seen. Really adds to the heart and soul of Montrose and West U and Upper Kirby. If you're into this kind of thing you really have to check it out. And if you need something popped, whatever that may be, I have a gun you can use. It's experienced, it's popped many things before. It used to treat them like collectibles, like notches on bedposts and such, but not anymore. I can't even remember how many pops anymore, but what I can say is, once you pop, you can't stop.

It smells like hell in there (sweaty and musty) and it's literally just a bunch of funko pops.read more

From the outside, it's a little more polished--not exactly the scrappy dive bar exterior we grew up with--but don't let that fool you. Step inside, and it's like nothing ever changed (in the best possible way). The vibe is still unapologetically nerdy and nostalgic: old video games, comic books everywhere, tournament setups, and three custom arcade cabinets that are worth the trip alone. No pingpong room though... Even the bathrooms are keeping the tradition alive--patrons have already started tagging them up, just like the OG location. It's that kind of beautiful chaos that makes Neil's special. The crowd? Same eclectic, welcoming, slightly-chaotic energy. Whether you're there for a trivia night, a game tournament, or just to grab a drink and button-mash for a while, it still feels like the right place to be.
