Even though this store is not the flagship store, but I feel like this Bedrock City Comic is the perfect size with the right amount of nostalgia, collectibles, current comics, and trade paper backs for you to browse, select, and buy. Like many of the modern comic book stores, Bedrock City Comic want to make everyone who walks through their door as welcoming as possible. They have specific sections for kids and shelves that's just local Houstonian artists created works or books for new comers to start from. This store is definitely well organized and there's plenty of things to browse for. Sometimes there will be special artists event such as Gene Luen Yang stopping by for a meet and greet and signing. They certainly stock up as much of the creator's works as possible for people to buy and get it signed the same evening. This store also have a good selection for the hardcore collectors when it comes to buying Golden Age comics, statues, and special limited edition collectibles that you don't really need it but you want it just because. When I am around on this side of the town, I will always try to make time and stop by here just to take a look, who knows what I will find that trip. read more

So the service is fine , the selection is okay lots of good comics that are nicely price , however their figurines and stuff animal plushies are highly over expensive. One figurine that I want they are charging 140.00 for it , where online and other shops it's literally 40 dollars , a stuffed chuckie doll that's not even like a real good guy doll just a weird looking knock off Chucky doll is 80 dollars ? The Funko pops had a good selection but all priced at 17 dollars some of them are worth that but not every one of them. It's a cute store just not something I'll come back too . Just left after being reprimanded for going behind the back counter which I was not. I leaned slightly to look at the price of a she hulk comic and was immediately set upon by the clerk and told he "just can't have me going behind the counter". I haven't been to a Bedrock in years and thought Id give it a try. Just go to Third Planet, an old school comic shop with out the rude staff. UPDATE : First there was no We, it was just you alone on the floor. Secondly I was never even slightly behind the counter. I was maybe 3 inches behind a stack of boxes NEXT to the counter. Fourth I was allready walking away when you told me I quote " I just can't have you being behind the counter" Fith at no point before that did you greet me or ask if I needed help finding anything. I wanted to check out a local comic shop while in Houston and this one was nearby. It was a Sunday afternoon and they were doing brisk business which was nice to see. Pretty diverse selection, both of new issues and back issues as well as trades and ephemera. They were running a 50% off sell on back issues which was pretty stellar and allowed me to pick up some old "Batman" issues that would have otherwise been higher than I'd been willing to pay. The main book I was in the store to look for was a recent "Saga" issue that I've struck out on finding at literally every comic shop I've been in this year which happened again here. Clerk offered to check their other locations but as I was leaving town the next morning it wouldn't have helped but I appreciated the service and friendliness. This shop doesn't bag and board the new issues they sell as most shops tend to do nowadays which would be a bonus they could do, and I received a Yelp coupon upon check-in that said "20% off" in big letters. I loaded up on a few trades and things thinking they'd be an additional 20% off. The clerk didn't know what the coupon was, then noted it said "caps" on it which he took to mean comic-themed ball caps they may have once had for sell in the store? So no dice on the yelp discount (maybe they should just go ahead and remove that offer). read more

I've been to quite a few comic stores in the greater Houston area and this is hands down my favorite. They have a great selection of single issues and collected editions. The staff is friendly and super helpful. Em and Juan in particular are great but Ive I've had good experiences with everyone there. They will help track down items from their other stores and have it brought to their store for pickup at another time. The store itself is clean and well-organized. This location was very out of the way for us since we live further North of Houston. Overall the trip was not worth it since the location offers the same variaty of comics as any other BRCC at the same prices. However, the location of this store leaves a very tight and small parking lot making it difficult to leave. The layout of the store also seemed off its a very cramped shop, D&D items were scattered in various odd areas near the registers, funko's were oddly displayed in small alcoves and so we're TPB making it awkward for more than 1 person to view them, and statues/figures were completely out of reach to inspect without having to ask someone. Unless you specifically live in this area where this is the closest comic shop to you I honestly wouldn't recommend it. Extra note: The staff was very friendly and polite. read more

Bedrock is the premier comic book location in the Houston area. They have six locations now and my youngest son wanted to visit all six for his birthday. We made it to five in two days. All of the locations are filled with comics, graphic novels and omnibus, toys and games and Funko Pops. The workers there are always friendly and willing to help you find what you're looking for, and if they don't have it there they will contact one of their other locations to see if they have it or maybe even order it for you if you'd like. My only complaint about their stores is it's kind like walking into a Barnes & Noble if you're looking for books, as in there is no discounts. So while I love to look at the books there (I collect graphic novels and omnibus) I don't usually buy from them because it's much cheaper to buy either through Amazon or through other comic book wholesalers who actually give you a significant discount. And while I love supporting the small business that bedrock is, I can't for my bank account sake pay $125 or $150 for a book that I could buy for $70-$80 through another comic book distributor. My son loves it because he collects the Lego mini figures and they have tons of them, and that's why we were there this week. But I did find a book and I did buy it because I love small business and I love Bedrock. If you collect comics you also love visiting any of the six Houston locations and I hope you will. read more

I have been a fan of Bedrock and been giving them by buisness for around 10 years now at multiple locations. recently purchased a POTP Predaking with upgrade hit that was in the stor off of highway 6. service was friendly but I feel it was also a bit deceptive. I was under the impression the figure was complete and not missing any pieces because all the sales rep told me was it had the upgrade kit on it. while taking predakign apart to his individual figures I found out that one figure is missing a gun that should have been attached to the figure. also found a note inside a baggie with the original parts that said it was missing. This tells me the store knew the figure was missing the piece and did not disclose this before purchase. So now I believe I anm goign to have to find a new store to buy my collectables from or at least one that will let me dissasemble and get a better look at my purchase before I buy. read more

I'm into collecting figures and stickers and this place had a great variety of both, including Alien figures and Gundam figures I had not seen at other stores. Their comic selection didn't seem as big as what I've seen at other stores, but with my interest in figures, this was a great shop for fellow collectors. read more

I go to school nearby this Bedrock City Comic and have always wanted to stop by. They have many collectable items from a variety of Funko pops, to comic books, to anime/comic book character figurines. Not only that but they have quite a large t-shirt selection to choose from. I'd say they have quite a large manga section, but an even larger comic book selection ranging from DC to Marvel comics. The place is really relaxed and the staff is knowledgable and can probably answer almost any questions you may have. read more

Except now you can actually buy some of those items, instead of begging your mom to purchase it. They had lots of cute items for the girls and some epic memorabilia for the girls and guys. Pure garbage! I purchased a comic on their website. It was a little pricey but it was starting to heat up so I pulled the trigger and bought it. It was a book I eventually needed for my collection so it was now or never. Days go by with no info on the shipping. Finally after three or four days I get a cancellation from them. Apparently, with the extra heat on the comic they were able to get a higher price at one of their stores. I'm sure they will deny it. That what these types do. Anyway, I purchased online after they closed so they should have been able to see the sale before they opened the doors to customers so their is zero excuse not to have an item they put for sale on their own website! On top of that they waited days to do anything. The price of the book literally doubled. If they would have told me right away I would have had a good chance of securing another copy elsewhere for a good price. Now I am priced out of the book for what I am willing to pay. I feel completely screwed over by this lousy comic store! Zero customer service! I'm sure they could care less. Good faith means nothing to these guys! Money means everything. Very disappointed and my first experience will be my last. Find someplace other than Bedrock City Comics to purchase from. You will save yourself disappointment and frustration. read more

It is during the COVID-19 time and when we went to go to this comic store. Before, It was a great comic store. Now, when we went there, they said we had to wear masks or they wouldn't let us in. But, the thing is, these masks don't actually do anything for you unless its a doctor's surgical mask. This is the most ridiculous requirement ever. read more

I am not much of a comic book guy at all. My hobbies are taken up with vinyl records and books ha. Though I came in to get some unique ideas for Christmas gifts for my niece and nephews. The store itself is on the smaller side, though surprisingly well organized (maybe I'm just use to piles of unsorted books and records) but they pack a lot of stuff in. So you can spend days browsing any of the new Marvel/DC things coming out or the collectables. What impressed me most was the service and how they were able to guide me, in an unpretentious but knowledgeable way. I don't think this is the flagship, as there is at least one other location. As a corporation do u always like to anger your customers who spend thousands of dollars horrible service I've bought at least 2 grand on hot toys withing the last few months and when I try and return 2 and trade for one I basically get told to go fuck my self by management after telling me that it would be no problem. My brother and I go here fairly often, and we've never been disappointed! The staff is always very friendly, and they have quite the variety of merchandise. This location is further from our home than others, BUT we always prefer this one. Nice and organized too which is always great. I'll admit, I'm not a comic enthusiast but I frequent Bedrock City Comics when I have my niece and nephew and when the bf is with me. I've been to other locations but this one is bigger and they have a big selection of comics and everything is nicely organized. Since this is my nephew's favorite store, I often find myself dropping some cash on stuff that he finds that he can't live without. They have comics, shirts, purses and a huge variety of collectible action figures. Prices are reasonable and the staff here are very friendly! We last visited this past Sunday and the kids couldn't decide on what to get and it was a couple minutes before closing but the staff did not pressure us to get out. Finally they made their decision and we were able to check out a few minutes past closing. (They close at 5 on Sundays) As I mentioned, the store is well organized. I like how they have 2 sections of comic books by the front window, that say "All Age Appropriate." That's a nice touch when you have younger kids with you. Great store with good parking too. If you're looking for something comic related, you're bound to find it here. read more

Just wanted to point out some REALLY crappy customer service I just saw at Westheimer. I came in to pick up my layway today and there was a kid asking questions about toys behind counter - the guy at the front (thin with a red beard) was visibly annoyed answering his questions. He was too damn busy on his cell phone. He finally told the kid - "just so you know everything behind the counter is going to be $50.00 or more". 1st of all that is bull not everything is $50.00 and 2nd what a douche move...put your damn phone down and help your customers. I've been to Bedrock about once a month on average for the passed year. (and every time we're eating at Les Grival or The Counter we travel across the street to browse the comic store.) I absolutely love it. They have everything from Fraggle Rock dolls to Wonder Woman boyshorts to classic figurines and of course, old and new arrival comics.. it's never ending. They have TokiDoki vs. Marvel tees and Archie comics! The store is spacious, extremely well organized and the employees are always helpful, polite, and knowledgeable. Growing up, I used to pass on playing with my Rainbrow Brite doll to see what new X-men mag my bro was reading. I may not be the biggest comic nerd but I still consider myself a fan. Do I get into the actual stories? Not as much as I'd like, but I love comic illustrations.. I love vibrant colors and the capture of movement in a drawing.. it's such a brain stimulant even stepping foot in Bedrock! (Ok so maybe I'm just a geek.) read more

Ok! folks, they have opened up a comic book store blocks from where I drink beer. There is a God! Beer and Comics, if they opened a wing joint in the area this would be heaven on earth. Bedrock shares a parking lot with Citizens Lounge and right next door to Bronx Bar, don't let that scare you away. This particular Bedrock has the same set up as the Westhiemer store only newer and cleaner. I saw signage go up for this place a couple of weeks ago and was pretty excited when it finally opened. They are still in the process of stocking the shelves, but they do have a good selection of comic books. This Bedrock continues to provide plenty of memorabilia and paraphernalia, If I'm looking for that Batman action figure for my daughter I can find it here along with that Green Lantern t-shirt I've been looking for. The best chain of comic shops in Houston! This location is my favorite by far though. The Westheimer location is the one I grew up going to, or more accurately, begging my parents to take me. While the main location has a bigger selection and a bigger store, the Washington store definitely has a great selection too. I started going to the Washington location when I moved inside the 610 loop. This location is great! I just can't say that enough. The staff is great! They are always very attentive and willing to help you find something or go grab the contents of your subscription box. What I like best is that they treat everyone with the same level of respect. My girlfriend surprised me with a gift from Bedrock and said that they were very helpful since she had no idea what she was doing/looking for (she's not a comic book person). The prices are fair and I have found some very good deals here. The 50% off back issue sales are probably the best in town. Overall, a very good shop with a great staff and selection of comics, TPBs, and whatever else you could want. read more
