While I was test-sleeving the cards I met with the store general manager Ken and Derek, one of the managers. Gave Derek a KL starter. He and Ken were extremely professional and hospitable. We also had an amazing and fruitful gameR chat. The store is amazing, well-stocked, clean. The management also makes sure that noise level from players talking is kept in control. Every time I walk in this store an employee is always eager and happy to help and my brother LOVES everything I have got him from Ettin Games and Hobbies! While my brother is a MUCH MORE Magic: The Gathering player, I am not and I do not have much experience playing Magic. I almost always lose. My brother asked me to play a commander game with me and showed me which cards to play and way and I ended up winning for my first time so I guess I got the "bug" for playing it. Remembering that Ettin Games sells Magic cards & etc., I looked them up on their website and read their event calendar. When I see that they do commander casual play, it peaked my interest so I called to ask about their events. When I called, I first spoke to a SUPER nice and helpful employee named CJ who explained their events to me. I explained that I would like some help learning how to play Magic: The Gathering; that I'm not very good at playing it; and I don't have much experience. CJ told me that every week, they have players that come and LOVE to work with and help new players play MTG and that, also, their "Magic Guy", Willie would be there and that Willie plays MTG and loves to help other players as well. I was told that Willie would help me put together a White deck and BOY did he!!! I was SO EXCITED and grateful!! I meet several REALLY COOL people (2 of which helped me ALOT). Both Willie and another player let me play their decks and try them out! I had SO MUCH FUN!!! Willie put together a really nice white deck for me that I'm SUPER EXCITED to try out!! I can't wait to go back next Thursday!!! I'm also SUPER EXCITED about my new "Black Widow" playing mat and sleeves!!

They have themed nights based on different games. They have an assortment of Warmachine, Magic the Gathering, Star Wars X-wing, D&D, dice, assorted supplies, snacks, drinks (even coasters), and board games. There are many times people at the store will choose to play together over a board game while waiting for their other games to begin. The store also hosts local tournaments. On a side note, I appreciate the store's cleanliness. However, what may set this store apart over others is its owner, Justin, and the relationships he has built with his customers. He is a very kind man, considerate and caring, attentive, and helpful. He is funny and curious, two traits that greatly pique interest in conversations where we have an opportunity to learn about each other more so than I think would happen without his involvement. The other customers there have certainly made the store their own. A running joke with a hint of bittersweetness from truth is how Justin may own the store, but it truly belongs to his customers -- that is, until actual responsibility must be invoked. The community he houses within its walls are welcoming and engaging. I am glad this place is here, because it is great to have friends I may otherwise not have known if not for the dynamic of this guild of sorts.

It's like I couldn't breathe in there. This is def the "pronouns" crowd. I remember trying to play and I kept getting interrupted by the two guys behind the counter talking about my deck being this, and how I can't do that, and according to blah blah blah I shouldn't do this. It makes it not fun to play when you have people like this around you. I get that there are rules and I'm learning.. but jeez, no need to laugh and jest all because I've only been playing for a month! The tables to play on were ok, but the overhead lights and constant flickering made me feel like I was going to have a seizure. There's constant conversation from the dudes behind the counter about how one of them has a "non binary" partner, and how to use the correct pronouns, and I'm just fatigued with this madness already. Can't there be a card shop that isn't obsessed with LGBT, pronouns, and schadenfreude? Idk, the environment isn't welcoming if you're not a far leftist or new to the games. It just isn't. That's how I felt while in there, that's my opinion. I'm not interested in politics from either side while I'm playing my cards.

They assured me over the phone TWICE that they did buy bulk (spoke with AJ, Alecia *sp?, and Matthew) which is why I decided to drive all the way to Cypress from Pearland to drop my collection with them. Now it took about a month to get that collection evaluated because it was a huge collection of boxes and binders honestly took up the entire back of my car. Part of the reason it took so long was I think the person said they were sick and that can't be helped I understand. All that time doesn't really mattered what matters is at the end they just offered to buy like the most valuable cards at a lowball offer for what they wanted. (Which I could have literally taken to any shop and sold) Proceeding to tell me they were not interested in the bulk collection WHICH IS THE ONLY REASON I MADE THE TRIP. . I already knew and not driven what round trip twice was almost 4 hours for me. Also when I got there they had taken everything out of the damn sleeves and just had it in a mess in the office and I had to reassemble it all in the lobby which really frustrated me. That is what really bothered me. I packed all my stuff up and took it to another shop that actually did buy bulk and got a much more reasonable offer. They may be a good shop to hang out at and nice people I have no reason to believe otherwise in that regard it seemed like a nice place when I went both times. TL;DR The shop bs'd me about buying bulk so I drove all the way out to their shop and wasted about 4 hours and it took a month for nothing. But a lowball offer on the rarest cards. Would recommend not trying to sell bulk to these folks cause they wasted my time and are likely wasting yours.

Imagine arriving exactly when you said, and be told "sorry bro we started 10 minutes ago". So I ask for a bye for the first game, and am told "no those are the rules". It's an 8-person local tournament, not the World Team Championship, get over yourselves. Could have just said no up front and save me 90 minutes of driving. If you skip this place, you're not missing a thing.

I didn't really get to change up pods much, but that's more on me than a reflection of the store or its player base due to deck tweaking after a few good rounds. They did seem like they had a healthy little cEDH playgroup there too. Also, at one point, they handed out a free promo card, and I got a Retro Frame Syr Konrad, which was neat! And man, one thing I never even thought about judging a card shop on was how clean their bathrooms were... which, spoilers!!!! Were immaculate.
