Cute little new cafe bakery in the neighborhood. I stopped in the other day to check it out while walking the pup. Since I got back from vacation, my neighbor told me about it and how it also allows dogs inside. Well, when I went in and made my way to the front counter to ask if it was okay I had my pup with me (I wasn't dining in anyway), I was met with a mere nod that left me both kinda confused and disappointed. It was more of a "ugh fine, I guess..." vibe than "sure, we allow dogs" but maybe I'm just being overly dramatic about it, IDK.
The place is cute, very clean and obviously new. The seating is very limited - maybe 4 tables and 2 seats at a high-top table by the window. The customer service was just okay - the staff was courteous but not overly friendly. They were also very busy behind the counter trying to move a huge coffee machine of some sort? One of them seemingly hurt her hand and I made a little joke but it didn't land :-/
As far as what I ordered, I went with the Tiramisu Latte. It's iced and it is $6 :-| I asked what size and the staff just shows me the cup. Apparently, there is just one wise. It's a sturdier, reusable plastic cup but I would say it's still a rather small size for the price. The taste wasn't very tiramisu-like, so I sadly wasn't too impressed by it. The presentation was a 10/10 though.
I can't review any of the food options as I haven't tired any yet. But from the photos, they seem to be the typical Chinese bakery goods - soft and fluffy and probably both within the sweet and savory realms. They also had some cakes that I could see which admittedly looked pretty good.
I'm all about fairness and wanting to support a new local business. So if you are in Rego Park, go check them out! read more
