They may do a good job on hair here, but I'll never know. I called to make an appointment, and the woman I spoke with said she needed to get some information from me, but her computer was acting up. I asked her if I could just give it to her when I got there, and she said "Sure, that'll be fine." So I get there and - you guessed it - they had no record of an appointment for me. The hostess/cashier said (and SHE was the one I spoke with on the phone, the one who had TOLD me I had a 2:40 appointment) "We're not allowed to make an appointment unless we get your credit card number first." (That's in case the client doesn't show - they make SURE no one wastes THEIR time. No one offered to reimburse me for MY time for telling me I had an appointment when I didn't. And if she knew this was the policy, why did she tell me I DID have an appointment?) The irony is that there was a sign on the door that said "Walk-ins Welcome "!! When I pointed this out, they asked me if I could come back at 4:30, but even then, they only had time to do a cut, but not the color. I told them I did not want a cut without color - if you know about roots you know why. Not once did anyone ever offer me an apology for having wasted my time or any kind of compensation. As I said, they may have great stylists, but if two people can't run the appointment system, I'm not taking any chances with them again. I'm sure they won't miss my business, but I will not reward their incompetence and disregard for my time. read more

This place is a hidden gem downtown Georgetown! I was seeing my stylist in harker heights before then she told me she switched salons so it was my first here right when I walked in I felt a vibrance about the place I was greeted properly and fast I told the lady I had an appointment and she escorted me to the waiting area! Right when you walk-in they have so many goodies from different companies they have soap, Shea lotion and everything you need for the ultimate spa day! In the waiting area they have the cutest chairs and complementary mimosa's hunny I had about 2 cause it was a long day already and I needed to feel fabulous lol I didn't wait for to long then my stylist came to get me she's an expert stylist and her name is Day! We did a Brazilian blowout which is basically a keratin treatment I get them every 6 months to loosen up my curls! I was finished in about 2hrs! Day always slays my hair I will be only coming to her! Book with Day you won't be disappointed! Also parking is only 3hrs on the street so just make sure you keep up with the time! I love this place it's my official salon now! read more

I spent $300 for a partial color and cut and my hair cut is terrible. It looks like the back was cut with a dull butter knife. I have super short jagged layers in the back, and then the rest of my hair is long with no layers. It looks like I have a long mullet. I can no longer curl my hair because the top layers are so short they won't wrap around my curling iron, and the bottom is so long that even if I curl it the top is stick straight so it looks odd. read more

I'm really disappointed in this salon, time and again. I've tried them out several times over the years for everything from cut & color to perms, and have never had a good experience. Most recently I booked a blowout for a special event, and the inexperienced stylist did such a terrible (and painful!) job I had to restyle it myself when I got home. (I also had to wash it later that evening because the products they use are so tacky and gross to touch.) Plus, they charged me $10 more than the price I was quoted over the phone including a "Covid cleaning fee" that I wasn't told about when booking. In the end I could've gone to a high end salon for almost the same cost. Save yourself the disappointment and go elsewhere. The gritty: the stylist was *incredibly* rough with the shampoo and her kneading gave me a terrible, lasting headache. She fumbled briefly with the towel at the sink and said she wasn't good at wrapping hair up yet, but then failed to towel dry my hair AT ALL before starting with the drier. My hair was still dripping/splashing water about as she inexpertly (painfully) brushed & blowdried it. This is very damaging for hair, and completely unnecessary. The style was just abysmal-- frizzy, flat, dull and uneven. The stylist was simply very new & inexperienced, and needs to be apprenticing to someone senior and learning how to do things correctly instead of just put out on the floor untrained and unskilled. I was specific about needing an event hairstyle when I was booking, so I should have been told I was getting a student-level stylist so I could have requested someone else, or gone elsewhere. read more

the cancellation policy is ridiculous. I had a virus that hit very fast and I began running a fever while at work. I called the salon the same day as the appointment to let them know I was sick with fever and likely contagious. they charged 90.00+ to my debit card stating that was half of a highlight because I did not cancel prior to 24 hours before the appointment. they were also extremely rude! Finally writing a review on this place. I've been to several hair stylists over a ten or twelve year period and they have all left one by one. The last was just before Covid. I called to make an appointment with another new stylist and was told they cannot complete the appointment without a credit card. I don't give out credit card information over the phone, having had to deal with fraudulent charges many times. Who am I giving this info to and how secure is it? Let me tell y'all if you are hesitant about trying a new cut or new color Dani or @dani_the_hairartist on Instagram, is your girl. She is the most knowledgeable hairdresser I have ever met. She takes her time to walk through everything and will do her best to give you what you're looking for, within your budget, within reason of course. My haircut with her is the best haircut I have ever had hands done. Shes adorable, super sweet and I 100% recommend her. The salon itself is smaller but stylish. My only complaint is that the hot water isn't consistent in the wash stations. read more

I have only given one other bad review of a business since 2014. I take these reviews for small businesses very seriously. However, I left this salon, saw my color in the sunlight and cried. I haven't been able to wear my hair down and need to get it redone. $150 wasted. The dark roots and streaked color look awful, as though a bowl was put over my head and dye dripped thru the strands. There is a clear ring where one type and color of dye meets the other. A quick summary of my experience: * The stylist asked me what kind of dye i wanted and I said permanent color. She told me no and proceeded to explain she only wanted to put permanent on the roots and semi on the rest. I said that was not what I had done before and not what I wanted but she insisted she was correct. I did not like the idea of 2 colors in different dyes applied like that. * I said I wanted a chestnut color with auburn undertones and highlights in my hair. The stylist refused to do highlights all the while selling balayage, a service I do not have any interest in. I just wanted highlights added with my color and when I booked this appointment clearly said I wanted color, highlights, and cut. I was told she did not have time and I would have to get the balayage another time. The highlights were important to me. In the end, I should have walked out as soon as the stylist told me how it was going to be and that my answers were irrelevant. #Regret. read more

I've been going to Razmataz for about a year now. Selena is my hairstylist. I was referred to her by a young lady at my drs office whom I stopped and asked where she got her hair done. Her hair color looked amazing! My hair needed some serious help as the last hairstylist that I had fried my hair! I went in to see Selena and my hair is the healthiest it has ever been. Selena knew exactly what to do. She talked me through every step of the way and made me feel very at ease. For the price, there is a serious lack of "master stylist" capacity. I've been happy with my hair when I have had it done by two of the stylists - Chris and Dani. They've both done a great job restoring me to my preferred look, every time I've come in. However, I just had to reschedule an appointment this week due to travel. It was a nightmare. Not only did the appointment clerk try to schedule me on the days I told her I would be out of town, but when she did reschedule me, it was for fewer services than I originally requested. I arrived at my Saturday appointment only to be told that Dani was running behind and would not have time to do all I needed. 30 minutes after I was scheduled to start, I was asked if I wanted my base color or a partial highlight. No glaze today, sorry. And gee, we don't know who booked this appointment, and oh nobody else is here who will help you. "So sorry for the inconvenience." I'm still waiting to see how the salon will make this right. As I said, for the price I pay them every time, I expect more professionalism. Would have given 5+ stars for Razmataz before today. 11/10 - This salon goes above and beyond! A couple of months ago, I had an appointment with the lovely and talented Marilyn for a balayage/blonde session. The end result was lovely, but it wasn't the color I had in mind. After sleeping on it and calling the salon the next morning about my hesitations, they immediately invited me to come back in later that day where Marilyn and Rachel, owner of Razmataz, did a full re-examination of the color we wanted to achieve and techniques on how to get there. When Marilyn was finished, I was over the moon to see that she had achieved the color I had been trying to get with other stylists for a full year at that point. She did such an amazing job that I make sure she's available when I come back every couple of months for a touch up. Moral of the story: the stylists at Razmataz truly care about their clients and take a lot of pride in their work, and I am so grateful to the wonderful staff who were able to help me then that keep me coming back even now. Very disappointed. The haircut and treatment came to $99 and I did not get what I asked for which was a relatively easy haircut. I previously had an A line haircut and I decided to grow my hair out so I came in for my appt to even put my hair mainly. I showed the picture to my stylist Bayleigh which was a n above shoulder even cut and some curling. She said it's easy. She said she did not have time to curl it and could only blow it out. I thought that was odd but it's prom season and tried to be understanding. It was a very quick haircut. I then got home to show my husband and he instantly said the haircut was uneven. I then did the checks in the mirror of different parts of my hair and sure enough it was. I specifically booked a more senior stylist because I wanted a good haircut. My stylist, Silver, was super sweet and my haircut came out great. I did however have mixed feelings about her creating a second bowl of dye to put in my hair for a VERY VERY small batch in the back bottom of my head (it was just for a root color) and charged an additional $15 for it. It seemed excessive and unnecessary. I was being uncharged because they can. I think they need to outweigh making multiple sales over a span of time vs. cheating someone out of money the first time they go. That's not going to create a long lasting customer. I had my first appointment here today with a stylist named Marcos. Let me tell you how much of a positive experience this was. I have been having a rough pregnancy. My hair was DEAD and needed some TLC. Marcos listened to exactly what I was wanting, talked me through products, style, etc. let me tell you how much I love my hair now. It's so soft, looks healthy, it is seriously everything I wanted and just like the picture I showed him. He is so easy to talk to and just overall such a nice, sweet person.
