I had my first appointment here today with a stylist named Marcos. Let me tell you how much of a positive experience this was. I have been having a rough pregnancy. My hair was DEAD and needed some TLC. Marcos listened to exactly what I was wanting, talked me through products, style, etc. let me tell you how much I love my hair now. It's so soft, looks healthy, it is seriously everything I wanted and just like the picture I showed him. He is so easy to talk to and just overall such a nice, sweet person. I have booked my next appointment for March for a hair cut and added on a full highlight. I'm truly excited to go back. Thank you for such a great morning. It was so needed! read more

So glad to have found them! As a transplant from New Mexico, I can attest to the fact that one of the anxiety-provoking things facing you upon moving is whether or not you will find professionals you like and trust as much as the ones you left behind. I'm happy to say that because of Razmataz (and Jessica in particular), I am thrilled. Hip-hip-hooray! Jessica is SUPER-- incredibly patient and thoughtful and talented. She really listens, too, asking me what I'd like, how I liked it the last time, what my specific needs are, etc. I am so impressed that I gave her what is in my mind the biggest compliment I can give to a stylist: I told her I trust her completely (true!), and that if she ever wants to try something new on my head, she has full artistic freedom. I've been having cut/color/style appointments with Jessica for several months now, since shortly after I moved here (thanks to all you great peeps on Yelp who take the time to leave reviews!), so I can honestly say she is so skilled and so super. I bring her my head, and she turns back the clock ten years and makes me feel like a million bucks. The colors look beautiful, the cuts are stylish and hold up wonderfully till my next visit. And her demeanor is winning, as well as her talent: she's pleasant and warm and gentle and careful...and very kind. She's the real deal, y'all! I have been here three times and enjoyed each experience. Chris and Dani have both helped me out. I think both are very nice and listened to what I wanted. I asked Chris for a hair trim, that is exactly what I received. Nothing more or less. Great conversationalist and genuine personality. When I made an impromptu visit, Dani cut my hair. Very disappointed. Daughter went in after planning her color for MONTHS, she's not the type that changes her hair month to month etc. This was a BIG thing. She had 3 photos and the owner and hair colorist concentrated on one photo. They told her the MANY steps it would take with no price info whatsoever. Daughter has almost black hair, wanted some blue added in. For some reason, colorist concentrated on the photo with jet black hair! That wasn't what she wanted. And hardly ANY blue. Contacted salon after I found out it was over $170.00 And played phone tag for days. Finally spoke with Rachel/owner and she kept putting our dislike off on my daughter....who has no experience with hair color. They had her come back in, Rachel was not nice to her and acted like this was beneath her. Daughter was offered a "redo" and additional color. After I saw it had turned green, I canceled that appt. I left a message with one of the girls to have Rachel call me about a refund or partial refund. I have yet to hear from her. So, after $170, spent at a salon that says they value their customers....we are still VERY disappointed and still want a refund....an apology wouldn't hurt either. read more

Razmataz is by far the best salon in Georgetown. I highly recommend seeing Jessica! She is amazingly good at color. I have seen her work miracles on damaged hair! The atmosphere is fantastic! They have great music, plenty of laughter, and you can even get a relaxing glass of wine. Casual yet professional, the stylists are worth every penny. Oh, and did I mention Jessica? I'll start by saying I almost never have a positive experience at a hair salon. I have a massively thick head of fine hair - a combo most stylists aren't sure what to do with. I dread finding a new salon whenever I move, because it's so hard to find someone who "gets" my hair. Unfortunately, when I moved to this area I first went to a different salon other than Razmataz. I chose a pricey spot in Austin with high reviews and went to a stylist whose profile boasted about her dry cutting technique, thinking it was a sure thing. Nope! While the cut looked fine when she styled it, I spent the next 3 weeks fighting odd flyaways in places I'd never had them and trying to ignore the fact that my layers were visibly crooked. I figured I'd just need to wait for it to grow out. Finally, while walking through Georgetown I stumbled across Razmataz and popped my head in to see what it was like. I was greeted by a friendly gal at the front desk who turned out to be Hannah, a stylist who magically had availability that afternoon and said she could squeeze me in for a cut, if I'd like! Hannah listened carefully as I told her what I didn't like about my cut and validated what had been done incorrectly. We agreed collaboratively on what would make it easier to style, and then she got to cutting! Y'all. I can't express how pleasantly surprised I was with the result! I ACTUALLY LIKE MY HAIR. This never happens! It lays nicely, it's easy to style - it just works. Can you ask for anything else?! On top of that, the price was reasonable, and Hannah recommended the perfect product for my cut. I've never been happy with stylist-recommended products (and usually feel they're only suggesting them to make a commission) but in this case she so clearly took the time to steer me toward one that would work with my hair. I hoped to tailor a recent cut I'd received elsewhere with Hannah. While, she improved on the original cut, it still wasn't right for my activities. So, I went for an "adjustment." Hannah and staff were very nice. But, I felt like the adjustment was a quick cut. We didn't shampoo, wet my hair, or blow it out afterwards. It seems you get a better cut with those procedures. While an adjustment is free, I told the stylist beforehand I intended to pay for a haircut. Perhaps, I need more experience in describing what I need and/or Hannah needs to be more conscientious with adjustments. I hope after a few days of wear, this cut will lay nicely. read more

First time client. Sat down in the salon chair and was asked put on a smock in addition to the mask I was wearing. Hot with walking upstairs. I was told I needed to keep on the plastic smock. Just in case the health department stops by. Those are the rules. The owner comes over and informs me that the Air Conditioner is out and someone is coming to fix it. On the second floor with a mask and plastic smock. No portable fan. Ceiling fan on the opposite side of the building. Ower informs me several times that it is out of her control. Everyone in the place is silent and looking at me. A woman sitting at the bar agreed with me. Asked if I wanted to reschedule! !!!??? I should have been informed and had a chance to reschedule. No phone call. When I started getting upset the owner informs me. (like it's a secret) the air conditioner was out. "°If" the air conditioner was fixed it would take a long time to cool off the salon. Rude, not the way anyone should be treated. You go to a salon to get pampered not sweat like a dog. Very angry and disappointed! I even brought snacks to share. Shame on you!!! read more

I was in a wedding this past weekend and this is where we got our hair and makeup done. The place is so cute and nestled in downtown Georgetown. We were offered, coffee, tea, mimosas and got a complimentary foot soak with Farm House Fresh fizzing bath soaks. Danny did my hair and knew exactly what she was doing. I'm currently growing out a pixie so very little to work with for an updo but she did a great job. The makeup artist also was fantastic and my airbrush makeup stayed on for over 10 hours. It was quite windy that day so my eyelashes ended up not staying on very well but I was overall very impressed with the service we got. This review is not about my stylist, who does a great job. My latest appointment was in the newly renovated space and I have to say I find the layout cramped and loud. The stations are too close together and facing each other. Putting them along each wall would have been so much better. There is no privacy -- everyone can hear what you are saying. There is no waiting area and at one point there were five clients crowded in front waiting on the receptionist. I like my hair appointments to be relaxing and the space just is not conducive to that. Additionally, I booked my next appointment only to get a text ten minutes later that it was for a different day than I had made it. I've tried to call several times but I always get voice mail. read more

This salon is well worth the drive to Georgetown! I discovered this place by following my stylist Yara Martinez there. She always listens to what I want to do w/ my hair and helps me keep my look young and fresh. She is so sweet and super easy to talk to! They always offer me drinks and refreshments while I'm getting my hair done or waiting in the lobby. It's also nestled in this really cool old building which gives some nice ambiance with the rock walls and tin ceilings. My daughter was pretty upset about her old salon and her old hair stylist.... WE USED TO GO TO A place in downtown round rock but Rhiots (that's my daughters name) hair stylist left so I searched places and RAZMATAZ POPPED UP! I quickly made an appointment because they were actually AVAILABLE on a Saturday (crazy, right?). When we walked in my daughter was so upset and confused that we weren't going to "her hair place". Hands down to Aimee Cruz (Anderson) She came to my rescue. :-) After many months of looking for a new stylist since my last stylist had moved, I was on the search for a stylist. I tried "many" and I mean "many" stylist and then I found Aimee. She goes above & beyond to make sure you get the style and look you want. She actually listens to the customer with suggestions along the way to help you achieve the results you want. She is great in cuts as well as color. She is up to date on the latest styles & trends. I will forever keep Aimee as my stylist and I highly recommend her to everyone. Oh and 1 more thing, she does not charge an arm & a leg. Yara Martinez is a Godsend. I have the worst horror stories with coloring my hair because it's super thick-coarse-black latina type hair. But I really wanted to venture away from the natural black-long hair look and finally experiment with color and style. If you are hesitant like me because of the type of hair we have, then you must visit Yara Martinez. She knows exactly how Latina hair will take to any type of color (coarse, long, thick, super black). She colors her own all the time and shows you on her own hair how that color looks so it gives you a lot of peace of mind that she has experimented with colors on her own hair and can give you physical evidence of how it will look (she too has coarse, thick, black latina hair). I absolutely hate the citrus look, the punk rocker type look... so although I wanted to add color and venture out I wanted to avoid these types of looks. And almost always when people want to color my hair (since it's black), they immediately go for these styles. And that's a no no for me. In my case, she eased me in little by little starting with some subtle colors and highlights to see what I like and made sure the direction she was going was what I wanted. I've seen here now 4 times since I've first colored my hair and each time I took more risk with experimenting, but everytime it was the right choice (I see her every 3-4 months). Now I have a beautiful papaya blonde and reds/cinnamons, mixed in my hair and it's awesome. I get compliments all the time. read more

I've been very unlucky with hair salons in Georgetown since moving here 2 years ago. I've actually been to this salon before but was not happy with the girl who cut my hair and they charged me extra to use her; it was only supposed to be $43 but then the day before they switched my hairstylist and charged me her fee, $50, then at the last minute switched me back to the original stylist but still charged me $50. I tried other salons as a result but only ended up with disasters. I have very thick and wavy hair so it is very hard to manage. Monday I went to a place, but I will not mention where because I don't have it in me to Yelp about it, and my hair turned out to be a disaster. I was thinking the worst, that I'd have to buy a wig or put in extensions. I decided to give Razmataz another shot but let the receptionist pair me with someone this time. I explained to her that I had a very bad cut that needed fixing TODAY and she paired me with Julisa. Walking into this appointment, I didn't expect much as I didn't have much hair to work with. Julisa evaluated my hair situation, told me what REALLY needed to be done and asked me if I was okay with it. We quickly scanned through instagrams so I could get an idea of what she would be doing. She even walked me through styling it. She said that in my situation, the best way to go would be a wig as there wasn't much hair to put in extensions. I will definitely be coming back to Razmataz to see Julisa. I'm so glad I got paired with her! read more

I scheduled my appointment to get a perm two weeks ahead of time, and the day before they called saying they had to reschedule because the appointment was booked wrong and they no longer were able to fulfill my appointment. Horrible bridal experience. Unprofessional. Unskilled. Left in tears. I saw the good reviews online and called to make an appointment. I asked the lady on the phone "I need someone who does really good bridal hair. I read good things and want someone who does great updos. Who do you have?" Her response: "Dannie does a great job!" I booked a trial run and the appointment for the day of my wedding February 9th. I get to the salon and it looks nice and clean. Dannie meets me, my mom and sister at the front. Hardly talks. I show her the pic of what I want. (It's a pretty straight forward twisted bun. Clean lines. Elegant. Classic.) first words out of her mouth "I normally do more messy things..." that was flag one. Lack of confidence. She repeated this statement multiple times. Then she began curling. She hardly prepped my hair with moose, gel, texturizing spray etc. She barely curled, barely and SLOWLY tease my hair. I've done hair and updos before and was getting frustrated from the get go. Another lady who was the updo expert, which I thought was what I was getting but I guess not, came to help. She corrected Dannie and they disagreed, and made up excuses why my hair didn't look like the pic. Not dirty enough (use texture spray), not enough hair/too thin (use a hair piece). When they said they couldnt do a certain thing, I had to show them a way you could. I ended up with 3 stylists arguing over my hair, me crying in the seat, and leaving having wasted $80. As I walked out the door, Dannie came up and offered a second free trial run through, after it looked like the updo expert had told her to. Very unsatisfied. Very unprofessional. If you don't have a skilled person, don't push brides on them. I'm going to another salon for what should have been a straightforward look. I'd rather have a refund than another free horrible trial run through with inexperienced people. read more

Updated: I waited 10 days to get in for consult, cut and color. I was told a 3 hour long appointment was needed for Stylist A who they firmly recommended for what I wanted. I wrote her name in my calendar. On arrival I was told I was not booked with stylist A. They had me with stylist B. They pushed it off on me that I was wrong on who I booked with. Oh, well. I took pictures of cuts I wanted designed for fine hair like mine. During our consult the owner nixed one of her style choices. Later the owner came to scold me for not listening to Stylist B even though I didn't want the style she suggested. Everything went south from there. She said they would not have time to do a color now because it was too late and their process takes 3 hours. It was 11:00 a.m!! The receptionist had clearly told me to plan on 3 hours. Obviously Stylist A was a no show. Stylist B was their clean up solution but B had already told me the truth. She had a child to pick up and could not do the color. She was very sweet. I liked her and she was doing a good job of explaining their color process when we were interrupted. I was so excited to go to this appointment. I had saved my money for it. I really needed their help and gave them my trust when I booked. I did not get a bad cut. I did not get a great new style or color. I didn't even get hair spray, styling product nor any advice on styling. No one offered to reschedule my color. Instead I left with a shorter version of the same gray roots I walked in with. I paid cash and tipped 40% without hesitation. Honesty is always the best policy. I would have gladly rescheduled. Oh, well. read more

I was a "welcomed" walk-in at about 3 pm on a Saturday (they close at 5). We just recently moved to Lago and I have always been so nervous having someone new cut my hair, but the reviews were the best I found so I drove all the way to Georgetown. When I went in, I asked if it was too late for a cut and the lady said absolutely not, she called one of her stylist over and I showed her a picture of what I wanted. The young lady was very honest and said she had never done a cut like that and didn't feel comfortable trying it, I wish all stylist were this honest instead of saying they could do it and make a mess out of my hair. The owner Jessica said she could and I can't remember the last time I had such a wonderful experience at a salon.
