Two slices with mushrooms. (One partially eaten!)
Ken R.

It's been a while since I visited a Ray's Pizza. And, will be a while until I return. First the positive - you get two large slices, one topping, and a drink for less than $12. A decent deal. Food was served fast and the counter crew was friendly. However, the pizza was essentially tasteless. It was smothered in mushrooms and a good dose of cheese. But, the crust and sauce had no flavor. I had already added garlic salt and parmesan cheese. I then did something I have never done before - added salt to my pizza. Not great and won't be coming back anytime soon.

Literally my favorite New York pizza place. Straight from NYC, they expanded to Scottsdale and kept the same fundamentals that made them a staple back East. This is a New York slice!! Large, thin crust, with that NYC grease, combined with fresh ingredients result in the finest pizza around. Family owned and operated, it's so comforting to hear that East Coast accent, in the dessert. True to a pizzeria the interior is nostalgic. Don't sleep on the antipasto salad. Big and super fresh vegetables. Ray's hits the mark on every level!!

I swear I've left a review for this place. I have been coming here for 14 years. I don't get up here as often as I'd like but it's always a treat when I come in. Pizza by the slice, always a good selection when I come in. Very homey. They have rc and hires root beer. I'd call the service very authentic and I've never had a bad slice of pizza.

Referred by a coworker who's from NY. The place was very NY vibe with great decor and tvs. Had two slices, half and half pizza and garlic knots Walk in and the folks up front were very fun with accents and speaking what sounded like italian. They wouldn't recommend any slice or tell me their favorite, which i thought was odd. Wish they would have cuz i missed on the two individual slices. White pizza slice was not my cup of tea, but the crust was a mazing. 3 out of 5 stars Spinach and tomoato slice was disappointing. The crust was amazing except for the first two bites that were very soggy. Like the tomato and spinach has released a lot of moisture. That was a rough start. 2 out of 5 stars. Half monster pizza (combo). They loaded the toppings. Probably should have requested light on the mushrooms. Crust was amazingly crunchy and did not flop even with all the weight. 4.5 out of 5. Half pepperoni pizza. Spicy and tasty. About what you expect from a a pep slice, but the crust was sooo good like the monster half. Wife and son both really liked it..5 out of 5. Garlic knots were flavorful with a tiny crunch but airy and soft on the inside. 4.5 out of 5 stars. When we are in the area, this will likely be our go to pizza place. Very interested in trying other slices.

Mouth watering anchovy pizza.

I pick up slices from here on the regular now. For family members and myself. I have become the Ray s delivery person for them.the crust is amazing. Crispy. The topping are great especially anchovies. They are not cheap with them either. So I don't understand the 3.2 rating at this moment. The pizza is definitely a 5. The older lady and young lady are a delight to deal with. However another person not so much so maybe a ratings drop because of it.

I left this last review a while ago and things have certainly changed there. This is not my go-to pizza place.

We had never really tried Italian food at a restaurant and this has absolutely just blown our minds! It's so good. We started off with a Caesar salad, which was tossed perfectly and Caesar dressing topped off with some pepper. Great salad great taste. And then we had the fried calamari with its sauce and its lemon, which was also extremely good. Loved how authentic it tasted and wasn't overly coated in flour. For our entrée we had a fettuccine shrimp Alfredo, which was very good. It was by far one of the best Alfredos we have ever had truly set the bar. The shrimp and noodles were cooked to perfection. For the star of the night had to be the lobster risotto. First time trying, and I was absolutely blown away of how delicious it tasted. And how awesome the presentation looked. And how much lobster was in the risotto. Absolutely a must try * only served weekends*. The birthday dessert was a tiramisu, which was really good. Overall, I appreciate the hospitality really enjoyed eating here. If you're ever in ot Scottsdale, you should definitely try this spot.

First off, this place is in a beautiful area. I was with 2 of my buddies but this place was the percect date night vibe. The scenary was very soft and "southern". It had that "aesthetic" vibe, great for pictures etc. The restaurant is one of a kind and beautiful inside. The booths are very comfortable. My server was extremely polite and attentive, along with knowledgeable. She didn't have the answer to one question I had, so like any good server, she found out immediately. The bus boy/ runner was also extremely attentive. Actively clearing plates and assisting my friends and I. I started off with the ceaser, which was delicious. We shared the meatballs, amazing. Along with the calamari and grilled octopus. Everything was fresh and was served to us quickly. We ordered a pizza to split, the margarita to be exact, and let me tell you it was life changing especially when you are a little buzzed. That may have enhanced my experience a little more. For my entree I chose the vodka pasta, it was one of the best meals I've had in my entire life. The only downside to this place is how pricy it can be, but like all nice places you have to be prepared to spend a lot. Despite that, I recommend this place to everyone. Come in a group if you can, its a fun time. Miss this place and love it!

Olive & Ivy looked promising, but the actual experience was even better than I imagined. First of all, this is a fantastic place with a great atmosphere. Whether you're visiting with family, friends, or dining by yourself, it's a place where you can feel comfortable and enjoy a great meal. I was seated at the very nice and comfortable bar area, where the bartenders were fantastic, attentive, and ready to accommodate any request. The little bruschettas were a great way to start the meal. I followed them with a salad, they even accommodated a half portion for me. Then I finished with the short rib. Everything was delicious, well-prepared, and served in generous portions. I honestly expected this place to be more expensive, but the prices were extremely reasonable considering the quality of the food, service, and overall experience. You can definitely expect to see me back here the next time I'm in town! Thank you for providing such a great experience. Keep up the excellent work!

We started with the whipped feta and arancini. The whipped feta was a friend's recommendation and was delicious. I could do without the sweet sauce added to it though. The arancini were the best I've ever had with the perfect amount of crispy on the outside and creamy on the inside. We opted for a surf and turf vibe with the New York strip steak and chile shrimp. The steak had great flavor but the shrimp...WOW, so freaking good. I'm still dreaming about the pasta with the shrimp. They were the most perfectly cooked and seasoned noodles ever. Will literally be going back for this alone. For dessert we tried the tiramisu and flourless chocolate torte. The tiramisu was creamy but lacked a stronger coffee taste that I prefer. The torte was my favorite of the two. You would almost not be able to tell it's flourless, just as creamy and delicious as you would want! We also tried a cocktail that was their version of a lemon drop. It tasted like fresh lemon but not as sour as I prefer a lemon drop to be. Still smooth and delicious!

We've eaten at this place many many times over the years. And returned because the food and service were excellent. However this time, our food was far from what we expected, and the waiter seemed like he wished he were anywhere else but there! The appetizer ordered was so haphazardly put on the plate, and was also not tasty. My husband's salmon was thin and dry. I don't think this place has seen any updating since it opened. Currently, it feels dank and dirty with no signs of welcoming any changes. It's always sad to see the neglect of management/investors in not protecting their stock in trade- their reputation and respect for their customers.
