The bread that was concerning me.

Started off as a good experience that turned into a nightmare on memorial day-- my wife and I went to grab breakfast before we caught a movie. It was fine. We then came back for lunch.... One of the men, while taking our order, put his crotch in my face while making a scene about trying to order off the lunch special menu. He claimed they don't offer the lunch specials on holidays... okay but this place was empty (i can see why). We let it go and just threw an order of calamari while we were deciding what we wanted to order, or if we should just leave at this point... but we stayed. I'm also a veteran and the treatment here was absolutely disgraceful to the highest degree. We were locked out of the restaurant after they took our order, odd, but we still tried to give the benefit of the doubt. I then asked about the grey marks on the bread after we paid because it resembled mold. The owner (old, overweight man), screamed in my face when i simply asked him about it. My wife told him respectfully to calm down, he spit at me, but it landed on the table near me. (that's assault, by the way). He screamed loudly and told us to never come back. Don't worry, we won't we'll make sure none of our friends and family do either. And we have BIG families. The waitresses seemed clueless or that they were catering to the older men the whole time. It felt so off-putting. Human trafficking vibes. Enjoy bankruptcy, learn how to treat paying customers. -1000/10 DO NOT EAT HERE.

Consider yourself forewarned - they will ask you if you want bread. It costs extra. They will push a salad and even dessert and it will cost extra. Every little thing costs extra. I'm surprised they didn't charge for the cup of water. Portion sizes were rather small. We almost always bring some home. Nothing to bring home here. I was told the special was linguine Aglio E Olio with shrimp and asparagus. On the receipt it lists the Aglio E Olio as $20, the asparagus as $5 and the shrimp as $8. The asparagus was the skinniest I've ever seen - like blades of grass. The shrimp were small and there were only 5. Definitely not worth the price. My husband's pappardelle looked like a side order and the meatballs were smaller than golf balls. The taste was ok, nothing outstanding. And service was lacking. The person who sat us seemed bothered that we even walked in the door. I always try to make friendly conversation but she was having none of it. We had just seen a movie at Harkins and wanted to grab an early dinner and since Pino was right there, we thought we'd give it a try. There are so many options in the plaza. We probably won't go back to Pino.

    Our favorite host.

This is our favorite place to eat in Scottsdale. The food is amazing. Always feel comfortable and welcomed. We only visit once or twice a year but always greeted like family.

A True Italian Gem - Our New Favorite Restaurant! My wife and I tried Pino for the first time tonight, and to say we were blown away is an understatement. We're huge fans of Italian food and culture, and this place absolutely nailed it--authentic, warm, and unforgettable. We started with the rosemary parmesan focaccia bread, which was perfectly crisp on the outside, soft on the inside, and packed with flavor. The Monaco salad was vibrant, fresh, and incredibly well balanced--easily one of the best salads we've had. But the real star of the night was the whole branzino--hands down the best fish either of us has ever eaten. It was unbelievably moist, tender, and bursting with natural flavor. A true masterpiece. For dessert, the gelato is a must. It's dense, creamy, and impossibly smooth. Do yourself a favor and try the Caramello di Napoli--it's divine. We also had the crème brûlée, and yes, it was the best I've ever had--perfectly torched top, velvety custard inside. What truly took the experience to another level was Gino, who we believe to be the owner. He brings such an authentic vibe to your meal--not just with his charming Italian accent, but with his confident, warm, and attentive service. Just talking to him makes you feel like you've stepped into Italy itself. And in Italy, you're family. Before we left, he asked about my wife and our baby on the way--due this fall--which just shows how much he genuinely cares about his guests. He insisted we try the pizza and pasta next time, and that's exactly what we'll be doing. We left with full hearts, full stomachs, and a new favorite restaurant. With such a big menu, we'll be back again and again--and we're sure we'll love every single bite. Grazie mille, Pino!

Food was okay; service horrible. Berated by owner when we asked questions. Will never go back.

Birthday celebration was a bust. Overpriced small portions. Inedible seafood. Rushed out the door.

After looking over the menu, we started off with Francesco's frittura to share. This dish tasted fine, nothing outstanding. For our main entrees we ordered the brown butter seared scallops with sweet corn risotto and the shrimp fradiavolo. Both of these entrees were outstanding in their own respect. The risotto was subtly sweet and not heavy or rich. Additionally, the scallops were nicely seasoned and not overcooked. The shrimp fradiavolo was mildly spicy and the spaghetti was perfectly al dente. Since we always have room for dessert, we ordered the tiramisu to share. It was nice and fluffy, and not too sweet, which we prefer. Overall, service was friendly, patient, and attentive. The ambiance was comfortable and intimate with lots of indoor seating and some outdoor patio seating. I highly recommend making reservations in advance if you plan on coming here. After our great experience, we will definitely be back to try out some of their other dishes!

My two favorite dishes that never miss are the Lasagna and the Chicken Parm. Like clockwork, it has always been impeccable. Sadly my most recent experience will likely be my last experience. I ordered the Chicken Parm and when it came out there was something missing from my plate. Instead of the usual Rigatoni Pasta with Vodka Sauce there were a couple of stale chunks of potatoes and some sorry looking asparagus spears. I asked the bartender where is the pasta. She responded that it no longer comes with pasta and that I could order some at an additional charge. It was at that moment that I knew I would never return again. Never in my entire life have I ever ordered Chicken Parm at an Italian Restaurant and not have it come with pasta. That is like ordering a hamburger and it doesn't come with a bun. Then they tell you that you are more than welcome to order a bun at an additional cost. It was like the ultimate slap in the face. I understand that businesses are under financial pressure in these tough times. I can assure you though that this restaurant does not suffer from this fate. There is simply zero excuse for this type of behavior from ownership. Their meals are already priced near the top of the market here in Scottsdale, and rightfully so as their food is top tier. But to raise prices and then remove a staple item off of the menu is asinine. Again, I really do not like writing negative reviews for businesses because I am a fellow business owner as well. However the consumer in me cannot stand for this type of treachery. I am sick and tired of paying more and getting less. This is not meant to deter others from experiencing this place. It is meant to let management that loyal customers are dissatisfied with their business practices. Finally, I am not a cheapskate either. I always tip at least 30% which is way above the average. I am not tone-deaf, I sympathize with restaurant staff and wage gaps so every little bit helps in the service industry.
