What a gorgeous piece of Italy right here in Scottsdale. Walking in you feel transported by the beautiful surroundings. The smell of woodfired pizza wafts from the open ovens, the furniture is beautiful and substantial. The spacious booths easily accommodated the six of us hungry people. After being seated, the menus were presented and we all were drooling over the variety of dishes. When we ordered our drinks, our server asked if we wanted bread, regular or foccacia, and we ordered both. I also ordered ceviche. The owner, Paco, stopped by our table and asked what we really wanted because if it wasn't on the menu, they'd make it! My DIL asked about a four cheese ravioli she saw online but not on the menu, no problem! She was pleased. I mentioned I was considering the linguini with clams and he said, "Good choice, you stick with that." My son had Fettucini Alfredo with chicken. The grandkids were ecstatic and twin 1 ordered Mac & cheese while twin 2 asked to sub Alfredo sauce which they dad. Jack got a cheese pizza, a full-sized thin crust gooey with cheese. Everyone loved their food. The service here is fast. The kids' meals arrived with the bread and my ceviche which was perfect because they were really hungry AND take forever to eat, lol. Our meals arrived minutes later. I cannot praise the foccacia enough. I poured some olive oil and balsamic on a plate and added parm to make a yummy dip. I also loved it with the bright, fresh ceviche, featuring big juicy chunks of shrimp. My linguini with clams (spicy) came with a delicious savory wine sauce. The clams were plump and perfectly cooked. All the pasta is house made and cooked to a perfect al dente. The desserts looked amazing but we were all too full to try. I'm surprised to see so little stars, but that's also Yelps algorithm. Which should be fixed (hint to Yelp). This place deserves five stars. The service alone feels like you're in a small town in Italy, we had three different people checking on us and making conversation. The food was spectacular, the homemade bread for the sandwiches alone deserves five+ stars. My husband and I went in and shared a simple chicken sandwich with a side salad. We also brought home croissants and beignets for our kids and they loved it. The inside is cozy nothing fancy, and it's easy to park and the location is great. I noticed they have gelato, and as I mentioned, baked goods, and there's outside seating. It was too hot as we came in July, but I would definitely make time to do a brunch and sit outside in their small courtyard, which is full of trees and greenery, it was beautiful. Mickey served us and he was so great that I want to give him a shout out, as he made the experience feel like we were regulars. I'll be going back for their whole Bronzino, which they shared their preparation, which involves showing you the fish and then preparing it in a lemon garlic butter sauce (I think that's what I heard). Started off as a good experience that turned into a nightmare on memorial day-- my wife and I went to grab breakfast before we caught a movie. It was fine. We then came back for lunch.... One of the men, while taking our order, put his crotch in my face while making a scene about trying to order off the lunch special menu. He claimed they don't offer the lunch specials on holidays... okay but this place was empty (i can see why). We let it go and just threw an order of calamari while we were deciding what we wanted to order, or if we should just leave at this point... but we stayed. I'm also a veteran and the treatment here was absolutely disgraceful to the highest degree. We were locked out of the restaurant after they took our order, odd, but we still tried to give the benefit of the doubt. I then asked about the grey marks on the bread after we paid because it resembled mold. The owner (old, overweight man), screamed in my face when i simply asked him about it. My wife told him respectfully to calm down, he spit at me, but it landed on the table near me. (that's assault, by the way). He screamed loudly and told us to never come back. Don't worry, we won't we'll make sure none of our friends and family do either. And we have BIG families. The waitresses seemed clueless or that they were catering to the older men the whole time. My wife and I stopped in after the movies for a bite. I found a piece of sharp plastic in my side Cesar salad that I thought iwas a bone at first until I pulled it out of my mouth and looked at it. I called what I think was a manager over and showed and gave it to him and told him I was lucky I didn't swallow and/or choke on it. He said "I'll show it to him" and walked away. No apology or concern shown. He never returned to the table and When the check came at the end of our meal the salad was on the bill. Rather than get mad we just paid and left. I was told the special was linguine Aglio E Olio with shrimp and asparagus. On the receipt it lists the Aglio E Olio as $20, the asparagus as $5 and the shrimp as $8. The asparagus was the skinniest I've ever seen - like blades of grass. The shrimp were small and there were only 5. Definitely not worth the price. My husband's pappardelle looked like a side order and the meatballs were smaller than golf balls. The taste was ok, nothing outstanding. And service was lacking. The person who sat us seemed bothered that we even walked in the door. I always try to make friendly conversation but she was having none of it. We had just seen a movie at Harkins and wanted to grab an early dinner and since Pino was right there, we thought we'd give it a try. There are so many options in the plaza. I was at the Harkins 101 cineplex and got an excellent recommendation from the Harkins bartender to try this charming place that is about 100 yards from the theater entrance. From the moment I entered, I knew I'd found a winner. My servers were quite attentive and checked with me throughout the meal. Beginning with the amazing bread and one of the best Caesar Salads I've found, the meal was excellent. Pepperoni Pizza was perfectly cooked and arrived fresh out of the oven. The restaurant has a relaxed ambiance with multiple sports on television and comfortable seating. I was dining solo and had half my pizza for lunch the following day. The owner is incredibly rude, short, disrespectful. My family member paid $90 for a togo order for my young nieces and wife. He offered no utensils, no plates. When we went back inside to ask for plates he looked perplexed that we would ask for such a thing, and then shouted NO from across the room to his employee not to serve us with plates and utensils. it was only until after we made scene he agreed to give us plates. A True Italian Gem - Our New Favorite Restaurant! My wife and I tried Pino for the first time tonight, and to say we were blown away is an understatement. We're huge fans of Italian food and culture, and this place absolutely nailed it--authentic, warm, and unforgettable. We started with the rosemary parmesan focaccia bread, which was perfectly crisp on the outside, soft on the inside, and packed with flavor. The Monaco salad was vibrant, fresh, and incredibly well balanced--easily one of the best salads we've had. But the real star of the night was the whole branzino--hands down the best fish either of us has ever eaten. It was unbelievably moist, tender, and bursting with natural flavor. A true masterpiece. For dessert, the gelato is a must. It's dense, creamy, and impossibly smooth. Do yourself a favor and try the Caramello di Napoli--it's divine. We also had the crème brûlée, and yes, it was the best I've ever had--perfectly torched top, velvety custard inside. What truly took the experience to another level was Gino, who we believe to be the owner. He brings such an authentic vibe to your meal--not just with his charming Italian accent, but with his confident, warm, and attentive service. Just talking to him makes you feel like you've stepped into Italy itself. And in Italy, you're family. Before we left, he asked about my wife and our baby on the way--due this fall--which just shows how much he genuinely cares about his guests. Want bread for the family to snack on like it's with the dining experience, (size of a salad plate) $14, family salad (size of a personal anywhere else) $15. 4 tiny 2"x2" ravioli $26, salmon 2 strips size of a finger and 6 small pieces of zucchini $34, lasagna size of a tennis ball $36 come on. Well, the food was ok. Nothing special except for the calamari. They are extremely pushy. The waitress asked if we wanted bread for the table. I didn't see it on the menu. So I asked if it comes with the meal. She said no. I told her I wanted calamari, and she added she'll get us bread. I thought she misunderstood. So I told her I didn't we didn't want it. It wasn't misunderstanding. I think they are all told to push foods because two more servers came to our table and did the same thing. Open 17 years? How have i never come across this place before now. I had a great experience. Very nice place. Great music and i love the open kitchen. I was very glad to see a wood fired pizza oven. I was searching for a new place to try some pizza (I'm running out of places to try) and i wasn't disappointed here. I was greeted by a older gentleman and felt right at home. Service was spot on. I can't remember my server's name but he was so professional and knowledgeable about pizza and wine and food I thought he was the owner at first. I always try a margarita when trying a new place. Crust was flavorful and crispy with a nice chew to it. Not burnt on the bottom which i was glad to see. Sauce was a bit on the sweet side but very good and tasted very fresh and light. Not too heavy on the seasonings. The only downside was the sliced tomatoes, which don't belong on a true Neapolitan style margarita. But it worked. Also i needed a side of fresh basil to add to the pizza. The menu looks amazing and i can't wait to go back and try more. I have already let some of our friends know that they have to give them a try. The decor was relaxing and modern and service was prompt and friendly. Save your time. THIS HAD TO BE THE ABSOLUTE WORST RESTAURANT I've been to. Where do I begin , not being greeted and waiting for service for about 10 minutes after being sat on the patio. Switching between 4 different servers, and the worst part of all the Owner. The owner came out to "take an order" for us Very aggressive very rude. We were not ready to order and he threw back our menus on the table and walked off without a word. We ordered salads Came out with a piece of hair so we didn't eat it and let the person pre bussing know we would not eat it. Entries were good but when the service is overall bad it was hard to enjoy. Bill comes out and our salad was never taken care of , we let one of our multiple servers know and they returned to tell us the owner would not take care of it. He said " we do not do voids here" We were very prompt about not paying for a salad we were not going to eat for lack of cleanliness And he decided to argue with us After 5 minutes of going back and forth he took off the salad. I am very disappointed with the lack of professionalism and respect this owner had. Will never be returning to this establishment and will make sure anyone I know does not have to deal with the same crap we did. To top this off as we sat on the patio we heard another table complain how rude the "owner" was and how unprofessional he had been to them as well. PINO is an amazing restaurant. I never write reviews. However, this was such a special dining experience, I wanted others to know about it when they are searching for a place to eat! From the time I entered the door with our family, they were very welcoming. Cold, filtered lemon water upon sitting down and a very nice staff. The owner came over and asked if we wanted to get our boys orders in while we decide which was very thoughtful! He told us about the specials and recommended a salad as well as modified the entrees for our allergies. We didn't have to wait long for the food and it tasted just like true authentic Italian food. Not heavy or overly seasoned. My favorite is that he came back over when we got our food and told us to eat slow and relax. It was so calm in the restaurant with no one rushing you, the timing of the service was impeccable. The gelato was also delish! We had a great time and will be back! read more

Have to say, the drive from Gilbert to this restaurant was no fun with traffic on a Friday at 5pm, but the food was delicious. We tried a variety of dishes from the foccacia bread to pizza to salad to pastas, scallops ....we practically tried everything! And, everything was delicious. The staff were great, always checking on us making sure we were taken care of (we were a fairly large group). Unfortunately no photos of the food, we just devoured it once it arrived. I'm not sure why this place has such a low rating on Yelp. I discovered Pino on our first visit to Phoenix and every time hubby has to come back for checks at the Mayo Clinic we try to do at least one meal here. When the weather permits, they have an absolutely lovely outside patio that feels like a little escape. We've not had a bad meal here and service is good. If you go for brunch on the weekends, they bring you breakfast pastries. The food is flavorful and we love the Mediterranean preparations and the European feel. read more
