Quick and good sushi. The owner is super nice and friendly! I've been here two times and each time it was really good. It is a small sit down restaurant/carryout. The price is reasonable and not too expensive. I ordered the snowman roll, spicy crunchy tuna and shrimp tempura roll. It was all really good. There wasn't too much rice and all decent size rolls. Another time, I got the 2 roll lunch combo, which I think it is not a bad deal. It comes with two sushi rolls, miso soup and a drink. I also heard the ramen is very good and I want to try it next time. read more

What a great find! The restaurant space is very small so most people order to go but my best friend and I decided to dine in. We were cheerfully greeted by the staff and you pay first before sitting down and waiting for your food. She and I got the sushi platter for two (48 pieces) and we were STUFFED! You have to call and order the platter at least two hours in advance but it is so worth the price. At the restaurant they also have a menu on the wall that showed they have other platter choices. They all looked so good that I'll have to make my way here again soon. read more

When I was hosting friends from out-of-state and wanted to impress them with a delicious array of food, I called Rawr. The sushi platters were a hit (fantastic 4 and out rawr) and so was everything else: gyoza, spicy miso Ramen, chicken teriyaki Don, pork katsu curry, and miso soup. Our friends loved it, and I was so thankful to Rawr for delivering an absolutely outstanding and impressive spread. Rawr is the best! read more

There was good food, quality of fish, value, service, and selection! I would definitely come again :)

The. Best. In. Northern. VA!!!! Absolutely!!! Look no further! I lived in Springfield for about two years but always pick up from Rawr. I moved to Delray and I have yet to find anything even closely comparable to the price and amazing food! I don't know how they do it but I'm so glad that they do. Trust me!! They go the extra mile. read more

My spicy tuna roll and avocado roll get 5/5 stars. But the salmon roll was a little fishy for my liking. Just a note: this restaurant is takeout only! Staff was sweet and even though I didn't like one of my rolls, great to-go option because food was ready in less than 10 minutes. Would recommend for anyone trying to eat some sushi on the move. read more

Very nice people inside. Sushi is ok, Whole Foods would be better. I got sashimi platter and Phoenix roll

This place was okay I like that the bento box was decently priced. I have to say it was all just okay though. The California roll was mediocre. The salmon was cooked well It's satisfactory. If you are starving, come here to eat and then you will be fed but if you want an experience or anything else I would suggest looking elsewhere In the Springfield area read more

This place is awesome. Had RAWR Sushi bookmarked for awhile and finally got a chance to try it out. I love the laid back ambiance of this place. Order your food at the cashier and seat yourself. Employees here were all so welcoming, friendly, and attentive. Our dishes came out in no time and we enjoyed everything. Prices are reasonable and they are generous with the portions. Their Spicy Miso Ramen was one of our favorite dishes, so flavorful and comfort food all the way. So glad we tried this place. If you're in the area and in the mood for some sushi and ramen, this is a wonderful option to have. read more

Best deal on Sushi in NoVA. Limited menu, but quality is great and prices are excellent compared to similar sushi places.

The inside atmosphere and the shocking amount of styrofoam/plasticware used here actually hide how tasty the food actually is. My expectations were quite modest, but the sushi was really reasonable. My mom liked her salmon lunch special as well. The portions were generous. If we're in the area again, we'd consider coming again, but the amount of plastic used is a HUGE deterrent for us. Almost enough that I considered giving 3 stars. read more

Small & simple menu and always fresh. It's been awhile since I've ordered from here since I usually choose to dine-in for sushi. like everyone else the past few weeks, we've been staying in our home and social distancing. This spot is just take out and was perfect for todays lunch cravings. Ordered on GrubHub for pickup today and prices were super friendly on my wallet! I go here all the time and have become a regular. My last visit actually turned into an impromptu play date with the owner's adorable daughter! Anyway, I'm sure you aren't looking up a review to see how cute his daughter is...the location is somewhat rather tricky to navigate. I will get that because the parking right in front of store is always full and it's like playing the lottery and often you're going to be like the Knicks and Zion (oof, too soon?). Anyways, parking is ample on the other side where the main parking is in Springfield Plaza and you can walk through the back. This is also not a place where you take a huge group. Maybe that'll deter you guys if you want a big party there. You might be able to if you call in advance but space isn't big enough for that. It is nice and quaint so if you want some quiet, it's a great spot! I know a lot of people get it to-go and this place delivers so there's many ways to get your food! I prefer the more cafe intimate setting but that might be just me. Okay, now the food. I love it as everything is fresh! I have yet to have a bad piece of sushi and the best part about this place is it's super affordable! I've had sushi from other places that charge more and yet this continues to be my measuring stick because of accessibility. But, they also have other food than just sushi! I know people have gotten their curry dishes but I have yet to try it. I typically stick on the sushi and ramen combo when eating. Again, everything is affordable and honestly I rarely find places that are exorbitantly better for the price. There are a lot of places in the area but I just enjoy Rawr's so much more! read more

This place used to be so good! We ordered the fantastic four platter to go and it was terrible. Not as fresh as usual. The flavor was off and the sushi rolls kept falling apart. Not to mention the avocados the used were all brown. I am so disappointed because they weren't even busy. I'll have to find a new sushi spot. Update: Also, this is the second time I have an awful experience with you guys but I figured one bad day let me give them another chance. I was not that late picking it up. What an exaggeration, but if it makes you feel better. By the reply underneath you can see how unprofessional they are. Truth hurts! Please take your money elsewhere. What a trashy place!!!! Cheap sushi = poor quality. Beware!!!! Leave a bad review the psycho owner will attack you. Wait for it Lol I have not laughed this hard in a while. Had to go see the rest of the negative reviews to see this guy has a disorder. Yikes! read more

The name got me curious, so I had to try it out! "RAWR" has a special place in my heart from middle school days. I like that the food here is fairly priced and comes out quickly even thought they are served on foam plates and bowls. I didn't like this very much but considering the quality, it was decent! I was surprised because the curry katsu and and their bowls are pretty good. I also like their sushi rolls, very simple and delicious. The interior is very cute and authentic looking with their simple design. Although the restaurant is rather small, it's meant to walk in and out. I find it really interesting that the food here is Japanese but it seems that the owner or managers/employees are all of Thai descent. Anyways would love to come back and try more dishes out! :) read more

I came here again with my friend. She ordered some different items this time (edamame + fried dumplings ) this time there wasnt a weird smell when I came in and no hairs in my food. I got the dragon roll again since I really liked that last time and it was really good this time! I also got the bento box with Teriyaki salmon. It came with a miso soup that was pretty good then came with a California roll, salad, rice and a pretty decent size of salmon. Everything was delicious and fresh. This was a better experience of dining then what I experienced last time I can't wait to return the next time I'm in town ! read more

I ordered for pickup. There's no place to sit down in the restaurant. I think they shut seating down since COVID started. I ordered two maki rolls: white tuna and salmon, and the spider roll (spicy soft shell crab). I'm amazed at how much fish they give you in a maki roll, which is the least expensive roll. It was a very hefty portion of fish in each piece. For the spider roll, it was delicious! It's labeled as spicy, but I would describe it as mild. Still, extremely good! They also gave a free drink and cup of miso soup with lunch. read more

I had always been intrigued by the name, RAWR Sushi, eventually I made my way to try it out, and it's been my favorite sushi place since. The owner is friendly, when my family and I had only been there maybe 2-3 times at most, he recognized us each time. This has contributed to us returning for the past 4+ years. (Please forgive me for not reviewing earlier!!! I'm not on here consistently, but have recently decided to start commending all the places I love in the area). The prices are generous for the amount of DELICIOUS food you get. Pre-covid we would either dine in or call for pick up, each time has been consistent = kind costumer service + scrumptious meals. Over time we've tried almost all of the menu if I remember correctly, but absolute faves are the - salmon bento box (and we get an extra filet to share) - spicy tuna (the one that comes with something crunchy inside) - shrimp tempura - eel avocado - all 3 ramens available The platters are also reasonable priced for the amount/variety you get!! I recommend this place anytime I'm asked of a great sushi spot. Just writing this review makes me want to visit, I might have to place an order for pick up this weekend! read more

You can't beat the price for their quality of fish! My family's go-to place if we are craving sushi that won't break our wallets. Their lunch prices and meals are hard to beat! $10 for their bento boxes with a drink. The fish was so fresh. On whim last minute I asked if I could switch one of the rolls and get the spicy tuna and it was the best spicy tuna I've ever had. It was like tender and almost...creamy? It's hard to describe but the texture of their tuna was just so amazing. The fish was so incredibly fresh, the cashier was so friendly, and the price was soooo reasonable! It's not high end sushi but it's high quality fish for an extremely reasonable price. And it's very clean inside the restaurant. read more

There's finally a fast casual Japanese restaurant in Springfield now! Rawr is located behind the Hard Times and next to the Flame Kabob in Springfield Plaza. We've ordered carry out from here once, and we dined in once. In addition to sushi rolls (no matter the type of fish, they're all the same price - $4.50 each roll), they also serve bento boxes (with rice, miso soup, salad, and a California roll), entree bowls, ramen, and appetizers. The takoyaki was pretty impressive and a steal for $4. My boyfriend enjoyed the tonkatsu ramen (only $8) and I inhaled my [crispy!] pork katsu over rice! We also ordered the spicy crunchy salmon roll and the spicy crunchy white tuna roll, which were also above average. The prices of the food here range from $2 to $12, which is fairly cheap for this area. The quality of the food is great (it is fast casual so don't expect any fancy presentation) and the service here is very friendly. We'll definitely be picking up food from here more often in the future. read more

Love this place! You honestly can't beat these sushi prices. I come here once every week or every other week to grab some of their mouth watering sushi. If you get their lunch special then you get a miso soup and can of soda. Gentleman at the front who always picks up when you call and hands you your order is a sweetheart. Their tonkotsu ramen is also great too. I usually get the dragon roll, shrimp tempura, eel, spicy salmon, or spicy tuna rolls. Have yet to have a bad experience or bad food here. Keep up the great service and food Rawr! read more

So you're telling me I can order online now (via trusty yelp ap) and get sushi delivered right to my door? I'm pretty sure this justifies me becoming a hermit during the cold winter months... sorry, not sorry. RAWR Sushi is awesome! They have a medium sized menu with several different types of sushi, ramen, bento boxes and several traditional entrees. I highly recommend the spicy crunch salmon roll, it's like crack! Pricing is good and service is fairly quick. I will dine in eventually, I'm sure, but for now I am totally content having the tastiness dropped off right at my door. Update: They changed the containers for their glorious ramen liquid which=no more spillage when delivered! Woo! AND they now have several new specialty rolls and 3 different types of ramen now. Tried this place out years ago with a friend and wasn't too impressed with it, but I revisited recently and left with a better impression. It's a small, fast food-like experience, where you order at the counter and decide to-go or sit down. There aren't many seats available, which probably means to-go is the popular option here. I ordered the sake don and spicy tuna roll and my brother ordered the unagi don and shrimp tempura roll. The sake don definitely beat my expectations. The salmon was sooo good and almost had a buttery texture. The spicy tuna roll was solid as well. Not the best quality, but I did appreciate that the sushi was actually spicy compared to most places. The unagi don was forgettable. It was too salty. The shrimp tempura roll was average as well. Overall I had a solid experience here. It's a great place for inexpensive, solid quality sushi/dons. Would come back if I'm in a pinch and craving sushi. 3.5 stars. read more

Wow. Right off of the first bite of my dragon roll I knew the rave reviews were accurate. First off, the staff was super friendly and off of my interests were able to suggest what would match my taste buds perfectly. What I got was one non cooked roll (spicy crunchy salmon roll) and one cooked roll (dragon roll). The spicy crunchy salmon roll was $4.50 and the dragon roll was about $12. The mix of shrimp tempura, avocado and cooked eel with eel sauce to make the dragon roll is one of the best rolls i've had in awhile. I am definitely coming back to try the lunch specials and other rolls on the menu! read more

RAWR Sushi never seems to disappoint! Best sushi in the area and a local business everyone should support. My go to's are the; shrimp tempera roll, dragon roll, and the spicy tuna crunch roll. Definitely make sure to also try the Takoyaki. I also enjoy their Tonkotsu and Spicy Miso Ramen, however I could do without the meat. The owner is super friendly and remembers his loyal customers and cares about the people that support their business. Definitely will always be coming back! read more

Cant give half stars or I would have given this place 3.5. I hate giving mediocre reviews but I cant justify more stars when both my hubby and son didnt even want to finish it. We've definitely had better and maybe the portion of rice was more than the other ingredients. The seaweed salad was good and was consistent with other sushi places. The takoyaki (octopus balls) was yummy. I ordered the sashimi app, California rolls, spider, dragon, and snowman. They were just ok. My husband didnt like the dragon which he had before...he said it tasted different. And he didnt like the snowman either. Not many specialty rolls to choose from, so for us, we will probably stick with the places we all agree on. I thought with the great reviews given, we would like it here but it's just not for us. read more

Was heading out to Lake Anna with some friends, and decided to stop here for dinner on the way out of DC. The space is super small, and i was a little worried that the sushi would be sub par, but it was actually delicious! Quick and great quality. We did the sampler platter of 4 rolls split between 3 people, and although it was very tasty, I left a bit hungry, so would recommend getting more in the future. They also use a ton of styrofoam, which I hate for the environment, so I had to dock them 1 star. read more
