Professional beginning to end. I called this locksmith because another locksmith in the area did not show up for their appointment. Howard was able to schedule an appointment for the very next day. He told me in advance the price for his time, the lock charges and the keys. He contacted me the day of the appointment to tell me he might be late, but instead he showed up exactly on time. His work was efficient, and exacting. He also had an idea that I had never heard of ; to key part of my house with a master key and another part with a sub key ( contractors can only get into part of the house.) He was also very pleasant. Bravo ! I'd give him ten stars if that were available.! read more

Very prompt and reliable I was locked out of my car and I called Ravenna locksmith and they came and helped me immediately

Howard is one of nicest and most compassionate professionals that I have ever worked with. He was on time (actually got there earlier than I did) and went above and beyond with his work. Having once been scammed out of hundreds of dollars by another "locksmith," I was very stressed out having locked myself out of my house; finding Howard on Yelp was an absolute Godsend! P.S. Like some of the other reviewers mentioned, there are unlicensed scammers out there trying to impersonate Howard's business. When you call the business, ask specifically for Howard by name; he has not contracted out his services to anyone else. read more

Howard was very responsive and did a great job. He is also a very nice guy, which is a huge bonus when you're going through something stressful like getting locked out of your garage. Definitely have him on speed dial from now on! read more

Howard was awesome. He came by 20 minutes after I called and had my lock changed out 5 minutes later. Good job Howard! Nice and knowledgeable both! read more

Howard is amazing!! He was super understanding when we needed to reschedule, and did such an excellent job with rekeying all the locks and installing a new doorknob. He even identified the issues that were preventing our doors from latching properly, and spent the time to fix them up!!! He walked me through all the issues so I also got to learn a lot from him :) 100% would recommend to anyone and if we ever need a locksmith again we know who to call! :D read more

What a great guy! The owner, Howard, just helped me over the phone, advising me so well that he did not even have to pay me a visit. In this cold weather, my external keypad for my detached garage door opener suddenly stopped working this morning. My usual fix is to simply replace the little battery in the keypad, but this did not work this time. The keypad lit up when I pushed the buttons first time after I changed the battery -- a good sign of life -- but then no more glowing green. So then I dig out the little key to manually open the door. Even though I have done this before, it still is hard to get the key in, and hard to pull the cable out to release to door from the chain drive, and hard to lift the door. I couldn't lift the door. It was kind of a crisis since I could not get to my car in there. So I look on Yelp for help and find these glowing reviews for Howard Nevitt and Ravenna Locksmith, in my neighborhood. I call him up, he answers fast, and proceeds to help me assess the situation -- probably just the cold weather shutting down the keypad. It is over 5 years old and maybe is now becoming vulnerable to moisture and freezing. With renewed information and courage, I take another run at manually opening the door. This time I use a crowbar and big rock for leverage and the door lifts up with not much trouble. Maybe it was frozen to the concrete floor, even though I had tried to kick on it some to free it. So now I have the remote control from the car, and the door opens with that and the inside wall button. It is definitely the keypad failing. Hopefully it will thaw out soon and work again. Might take a hair dryer to it for fun. Thank you one more time to Howard Nevitt of Ravenna Locksmith for your wisdom and expert advise! Very relieved here. :) Eric in Ravenna read more

Just as others have said, Howard came to our house the day after our key was stolen to efficiently and affordably replace our front door lock. I appreciated very much that he was able to come out so quickly. Howard also inspected the locks on the other exterior doors, and told me that none really needed replacement. It's nice to have someone be honest about what really needs to be done. On top of all that, Howard even asked if it was OK to use WD40 around our birds! He's an interesting guy- very pleasant and mellow. Thanks Howard! read more

Here's a man who really lives up to his reputation! I found his phone number through a search on my mobile phone, so I hadn't read these reviews yet--I just knew that his business was fairly close to my home. What a stroke of luck--Howard is just the type of person you need in an emergency! I had a couple of doors that needed the attention of a locksmith, and I was expecting houseguests in less than an hour. I was a completely frazzled mess! Howard was extraordinarily helpful and good-humored in the midst of my chaos, and I suspect that if I'd asked him to take on some other domestic repairs, he might have said yes! Just a nice, nice man. read more

Howard was extremely fast, professional, & kind. We called & he came out the very next day to rekey our house. Very reasonably priced & gave us 4 keys for no charge. Highly recommend read more

I don't often leave reviews but I HAD to in this case! I just moved into a new building and unfortunately the key to my front door got stuck in the lock. After hours of twisting, turning, and pulling, I finally called Howard. Over the phone, he was able to not only help me free the key within minutes, but he also gave me a detailed explanation of why this had happened, as well as recommended next steps to share with my landlord. I thought it was incredibly generous of Howard to help me out even though I didn't have an appointment. Lock issues are pretty stressful and it's great when you can find a local locksmith who recognizes that and goes above and beyond. Thanks Howard! read more

Howard has helped me with locksmithing on two occasions. He does really great work and is very reliable. I called him the other night after hours because my neighbor was locked out and he was even willing to help afterhours. I highly recommend Howard, especially if you're in NE Seattle. read more

Howard is the best! He is so kind and professional and works both quickly & thoroughly. I know I will always call Howard for all my locksmith needs and recommend you do too! read more

My boyfriend, my Dad, and I had gone out for dinner and had a rude discovery that we'd locked ourself out of our apartment when we returned home. Upon calling the on call maintenance guy, he told us he was in Everet and he wasn't going to drive all the way there to let us in. My boyfriend used Yelp to find Howard and he was great! He was in the middle of teaching a class and still left it early to help us out! It only. Took him 20 mins to show up and literally five minutes to unlock our apartment! My dog was so happy to get out to go potty! Howard even made us extra keys on site, free of charge! I saved him in my phone, I'm never using anyone else. He was kind, fast, honest to a T, and exceptionally reasonably priced. (He charged us only 75$ for the whole thing) highly recommended read more

Howard is a true pro who loves his work and knows his craft. Have used him on two separate jobs, once to fix an old 1920's door lock and once to re-key a new home. He shows up on time, is courteous, and does a little more than asked (fixed the door hinge and jamb). He is first on my list when a locksmith is needed! read more

Howard came out again to my place as someone was trying to break my lock. They made it where my door would not close. Not being able to leave for work on a Monday morning was stressful, but Howard is simply so kind and responsive. MAKE SURE YOU CHOSE HOWARD. I'VE BEEN SCAMMED BY A COMPANY CALLED RAVENNA LOCKSMITHS. THIS IS NOT HOWARD. Howard is Ravenna Locksmith with no "s" at the end. Howard is super reliable!!!! The other fake company charged 300 bucks to do a simple lock out. read more

If I could go zero stars I would. I called trying to get a safe open before LAST weekend, and to this day he has not gotten back to me. Irresponsible and completely unprofessional, I ended up calling another locksmith and had him come over within the hour. If you want terrible customer service go to these guys, but don't even count on that much. read more

Howard was amazing! I brought in two locks to have rekeyed and some keys to be duplicated. I was curious about the process and he was more than willing to provide informative narration through all of his work. On top of that, he was a very nice and a fun guy to talk to. Communication ahead of the appointment was good. Prices were competitive and as expected/discussed earlier. Be sure to bring cash. read more

Howard is amazing he's fast and accurate and a master of his craft. It's true what the other reviewers have said, he really does make the lock better than it originally was. He's the best locksmith I've ever come in contact with. Do you need a locksmith? Do yourself a favor and use Ravenna Locksmith. Get the job done right the first time. read more

As a previous reviewer said, Howard not only made a new key for my locks but he went beyond and made the locks in better shape than they originally were! I'd lost my key and required a new key for two different locks. He managed to do it in 30 minutes (and it probably took him longer than he normally works because I had asked him to explain every step to me; I just like to learn these things). He was very gracious, customer & service-oriented (welcomed every question), and extremely courteous. As for the actual service itself, Howard noticed that BOTH my locks were upside down, and righted them free of charge. He even saw that the lock didn't slide in the door quite right and sanded down the hole, making my lock now turn like a charm (before it had been a struggle)--ALSO free of charge. What makes Howard the best though is his honesty. When I asked about pricing estimates over the phone, he gave me one but told me it might change depending on the situation when he actually sees the locks (understandable). However when the job was done he had stuck with the pricing estimate and didn't press any petty charges for extra labor (ex: changing my locks' positions, making me a 2nd spare key, etc.). With every step he took to fix my locks, he explained with personable professionalism and genuine honesty. I'm actually quite sad that when I move back to Oregon I won't be able to call him up anymore for my key troubles. read more

I feel fortunate to have found Howard of Ravenna Locksmith a couple of years ago and have just had to call him again for assistance with original doorknobs that wouldn't work properly in my 1920's home. Howard is the one to call. He is fast, reliable, personable and most importantly really knows what he is doing. He won't try to sell you something you don't need and has frequently been able to fix old parts with salvaged parts saving me money and getting me up and running again in no time. Don't hesitate to call him! read more

Howard was fantastic! He showed up on time and got the work done quickly. He is also enjoyable to chat with, too! A genuine and honest guy. I would highly recommend him to others. read more

I'm a huge fan of supporting local business owners and glad I found Howard. I called him in a panic as I locked myself out of the house early this morning with my 3 yr. old son strapped inside the house in his high chair. Normally my son would unlock the door but since he was strapped in we were both helpless. In my pj's and no dose of morning caffeine, I called him from my neighbor's phone. He came quickly and got to work. He was fast and efficient and charged a reasonable fee. As personable and knowledgeable as he was, I hope to never call again but rather see him in passing. Thank you Howard for saving my son and I! read more

Did an emergency call for us. Quickly came over, walked me through what was causing the problem and fixed our lock and door. Calm, courteous, and nice. Recommended! read more

We've had fantastic experiences with Howard and would confidently recommend him to anyone. He came to replace our locks on short notice (Saturday appointment after reaching out just a few days prior) and was prompt, professional, and reasonably priced. When I proceeded to lock myself out of the house just a week later, Howard came to save the day just 15-20 minutes after calling him for assistance. This meant a lot to me in a stressful situation. Highly recommend working with him. read more

I had inadvertently locked the keys of my gun vault in the gun vault itself. Howard was quickly able to drill out the lock with with a special bit. I'm in a business where I work with many locksmiths and trust me, many of these so called locksmiths are not legit or bonafide. They have no idea how to practice their trade and often do a switch and bait routine with their pricing. I've had the pleasure of working with Howard for at least a decade and he's the consummate professional, as well as being personable and reliable. I highly recommend Howard. read more

Howard offered the lowest bid to rekey 4 doors (6 cylinders), on our recently purchased home. He was punctual, arriving on time, personable and pleasant to talk with, and the work was done perfectly. Our new home feels more secure now. I recommend his services without reservation. read more

I locked myself out of my condo and Howard was there in less than 15 min. His pricing was fair and he charged me the exact amount he quoted on the phone. Howard is not affiliated with the other locksmith that has been known to scam people. read more

Howard is terrific ! I set out to install digital deadbolts in the house. Howard gave me terrific reviews of the available products, warning me off from my initial choice because of a known, published hack, and made a better recommendation. He even advised me to pick them up at Home Depot myself because his distributer marked them up. He accomplished the install quickly and cleanly, and he and his assistant were super friendly and professional. Absolutely recommend read more

I highly recommend Howard! He showed up when he said he would be there and did a great job! He takes pride in his work and cares about the quality of his service. howard did a great job. he was efficient, kind and prompt. Thank you

I don't know why you wouldn't call Howard. He's laid back, friendly and extremely good at what he does. We called after losing our key while out for a run. I had an issue with the lock on our front door jamming and was unable to open our front door! I called Ravenna Locksmith and Howard answered right away. He arranged for same day service. He just left, and I have a working front door lock and feel safe again. Howard was polite and really knows his stuff. 5 Stars for Howard!!! read more

Wow! I just got off the phone with Howard and he is great! I called with a problem related to my mailbox lock - I broke my key off in the thing and it's stuck. No mail for me! Howard said that he could come get the key out for a fee but a better option would be to fix it myself for free. He just spent five minutes describing all the different techniques that I could use to get the key out on my own. He even said that I could call him while I'm trying to get the key out in case I need him to talk me through it. What a great guy! I definitely recommend Howard and will call him immediately if any other lock issues come up. read more

Howard is awesome and we highly recommend him. Not only are his services extremely affordable, but he helped us find the hardware we wanted for our front door for the best price by advising us to buy it online rather than special ordering through him. He showed up on time and installed locks on our front door, kitchen door, French doors and basement door in two hours. Actually, he was here 2.5 hours but only charged us for 2 hours labor! He is honest and very pleasant to be around. We will definitely use him again if needed. read more

Howard was extremely efficient & helpful! I locked my keys in my car & he was on site in a matter of minutes. I had been quoted by several other companies for a much higher rate than he charged, & was also told it would take quite a bit of work to get my car unlocked. Howard had it open in 2 minutes! 5 star service! Highly recommend this owner run business over other locksmiths hands down! Thanks Howard! :) read more
