I visited after hearing about their vintage section, which is well-curated but woefully small. The prices weren't unheard of by Boston standards, but I find so many comparable dresses on ebay for less that I wasn't really tempted. (Why spend $75 for a dress I could buy for $35, right?) I wish they would consider devoting more space to vintage: Those are the best pieces in the shop. As another reviewer said, the rest is a bit of a hodge-podge of lowend to mid-range mall brands, most of which were REALLY dated. Overall, I was really disappointed. I found this place the other day - never knew it existed. I had great luck in here and found 2 great vintage dresses for under $20 each. The sales clerk was just so friendly I would have bought something just because she was so nice! I will be going back here to check out what they have all the time! Great selection of second-hand items. Take your time to peruse the racks and you're bound to walk out with at least a few items. The staff is very hands-off which I love. They pretty much say hi as you walk in then that's it until you need to checkout. That's my favorite type of shopping because I hate to be hounded by sales people! So... when I walk into a store the size of my living room, I don't expect a fanfare. I didn't get a Hello, no eye contact, not even a lift of the head. I'll live. Those two people behind the counter must have something very important to discuss, yeah? But when 2 more people walk in and the counter help keeps chatting, never looking at who came in... Went in for the first time just to consign, but ended up buying 3 classic black pieces (100% leather skirt, wool skirt and trousers from Barney's New york) for $61! Very friendly staff, well organized racks (nothing worse than stepping into a store with different sizes hung all over the store) and a good balance of one-of-a-kind items and classic looks (Banana Republic, Ann Taylor, etc. stuff I usually wear for the office). I recently gained +$10 but didn't want to invest in a whole new wardrobe in a bigger size, so I'm glad I found this place! Definitely will go back with friends. Only reason why I'm not giving full 5-stars, is cos I want to wait and see how well they're organized in printing checks for my consigned items. read more

Fun, funky store with a great selection! Be sure to visit often because they are always getting great new stuff in and you want to grab it before it's gone! I got one of my favorite shirts there for $11. Woo-hoo! I loved the Wakefield location and am so happy they have opened up in Cambridge... T accessible in a perfect spot between Harvard and Porter. I wrote this a review a little earlier, and I said that I wasn't sure why it wasn't listed as a consignment store. I was told that they have mostly vintage, but it didn't appear that way. I saw two medium sized racks with some beaded sweaters and a few vintage dresses along the side. I know I am thinking of the right boutique because I'm new to Boston and I took a full saturday to hit up all the best rated vintage stores and decide which ones were worth coming back to. Raspberry Beret was my last stop that day and I remember telling the friend I was with I was disappointed considering all the good reviews it got. It's not that the store is so terrible that it's not worth checking out, it was just not as exciting as I hoped. All clothes while in very good condition, but I just couldn't see myself wearing them. Also, I'm very cheap, but if something is cute enough I will splurge. But nothing jumped at me like that and everything was at least $15 and up. And although I've been told that it is a majority of vintage clothes, when I went in I saw a lot of local designer kind of clothing. Overall, I'm probably not going back. There are definitely thrift stores I would go to over it, but it's worth looking around to see if it suits you. It's a very clean, well organized store in a cute area. read more

I didn't know how much I loved vintage clothes until I set foot in Raspberry Beret for the first time two years ago. As a student in the area, I'm usually entirely broke, but that doesn't stop me from swinging by nearly every week to check out their gorgeous new dresses, jewelry and accessories. And the prices are reasonable enough that I never leave empty handed. I've shown up to formal events in $12 Raspberry Beret dresses and gotten loads of compliments. The staff are great, too. They're very helpful when I turn up with some odd request for a costume party I've got coming up ("Do you have any 20s style dresses? Not, like, flapper 20s, but, like, classy 20s?"). Much nicer than the often surly clerks at certain other area consignment shops. All around, this is one of my favorite stores! read more

So, I went there twice as a consigner, and I was kicked out twice. The first time they coldly told me to come on the 1st or 15th of each month. So I left. The second time was on the 15th, and they said they didn't have cash, so I had to go home carrying my huge bag of clothes. Also, I don't appreciate their tone of voice. I don't know if it was because of my race or because I was not dressed nicely enough (I guess a regular parka is not as nice as Canada Goose???), the cashiers on both occasions were very cold to me and very distant, as if I'm begging kings and queens to sell my worn once or twice anthropologies and madewells. They definitely lost me as a customer and as a consigner. There are much better consignment shops with friendlier folks. read more

Hopefully their stock will improve as they've been open longer. I was really excited to see another consignment store besides Poor Little Rich Girl within walking distance of my apartment. Not that I have anything against PLRG, but I like variety. I've stopped into Raspberry Beret twice since they first opened. Both times I haven't found all that much in my size, especially in terms of jeans, skirts, and dresses...and I don't wear an unusual size (around a 10, give or take). I really hope their stock improves once they've been around a bit longer. I will say that their prices are great. Both sweaters I got last time I was there were in the $12-14 range, and my friend got a beautiful pair of boots for $18. As a side note, this store is really not in Harvard Square. It's on Mass Ave, but much closer to Porter. read more

I love this place. If you go often, the staff will get to know you and help you find pieces that suit your style. I've bought lots of work-appropriate clothes, and some really cute dresses, and saved a lot of money. I have not had anything wear out or fall apart yet. It's way cheaper than most stores in Cambridge and has some unique items! If you are going to consign, read the guidelines on the website first so that you're not disappointed or bring the wrong items. I think it's great that they donate the leftover consignment items to charity - better than cluttering up everyone's closet. read more

The customer service is lacking. The clothes are okay but many of the them feel pretty well worn. This isn't goodwill! The clothes are still costly. I always hope to find something - the clothes range from teenage trendy to frumpy and outdated but still there isn't any really that good. I wish this was a Revolve. read more

I'm writing as a consigner rather than a buyer. This was my first-ever experience as a consigner. After cleaning out my closet and discovering a few nice but never- or little-worn items, I made an appointment, showed up on the right day and time, only to be told that they don't do Saturday appointments. After a few awkward moments of the girl behind the counter looking at me blankly (I could see my name in the appt book right in front of her, mind you), another girl came over and said she could look through my stuff. Very quick and businesslike, they took everything and I was out of there in 5 minutes. OK. When the consignment period ended, I went to get my remaining items (2 items out of 6), only to be told that they had actually "lost" one of my items... the most expensive, tags-still-on dress I had brought in (from Anthropologie). No real explanation or apology given, just a shrug of the shoulders and a "check back with us, maybe it will turn up." Meh. It didn't turn up. Now I'm out both the dress and the money I could have sold it for. I understand that these things sometimes happen, but the lack of any sort of explanation or "we'll make it up you" effort means that my first consignment experience will most likely be my last. I hate to give a small local business such a meh review, but it truly is reflective of the experience. I'll still go in and browse the racks, though. read more

I stop by this place every time I get my eyebrows done down the street (what up, Beauty Spa!), and despite my highest hopes, I never find anything that works for me. I'm not a hardcore thrifter, but I AM a pretty patient shopper... I've just never scored here. Pros: The place smells deeelicous and is really charmingly decorated and organized. Prices are totally agreeable -- I looked at tops in the $5-12 range, a couple of blazers in the $10-20 range, and some jeans in the $12-20 range. Cute but not esp. cheap accessories. Cons: as a twenty-something, I think the merchandise skews a little bit older than I like to dress. While the selection's decently well-edited, there's not too much that leaps out in terms of uniqueness or quality. Not worth venturing out for, but definitely promising enough for me to continue stopping by as part of my post-wax routine. read more

As shopper: 4 stars. As consignor: 1-2 stars (would not consign again. As shopper: Low prices mean you can find interesting pieces at really, you know, low prices. I especially like their jewelry and vintage selections. As consignor: Of my 20-something items, apparently 5-6 of them were stolen or lost. That's 25% of the items consigned there. Honestly, I wouldn't care TOO much (stuff happens) if I felt they were making ANY effort to prevent theft, and if I had gotten a good return from the items that did sell. They sold some of my (clean, some more pricey, but not designer) items for less than a Goodwill would. So what I get from Second Time Around ends up being about 3x-5x more per item, plus STA only "lost" one of my items. I would keep shopping here, but I will not consign here again. read more

Amazing jewelry and clothing. Expensive but understandable because of the upscale pieces being sold. The staff is very kind and helpful. They have a great selection if you take your time through the store. It might seem small at first but make sure to look everywhere and go downstairs as well where they have AMAZING vintage pieces. read more

Since writing the previous review, I was contacted by management who apologized and said the clerk I spoke with is no longer working there. I think it's only fair to update this review to four stars for that reason. I'm still not going back, because the experience left a bad taste in my mouth and the consignment policies are a bit unpredictable (it's not worth it to bring a bunch of stuff in and be told it's off season), but I have had nothing but pleasant experiences with their other employees, who I think try really hard to be friendly and upbeat. They shouldn't be punished for a bad egg who's apparently already gone. read more

Very friendly, helpful staff, great selection of AFFORDABLE, stylish clothes, and organized in terms of consignment. I have consigned twice and had very positive experiences both times--they even took everything I brought in the second time, and give you an itemized receipt with a date to call by to pick up unsold clothes. When I came in to drop off that second load I decided to poke around a bit and see if there was anything I wanted to use my credit towards. I was shocked to find about 15 different things that actually fit (size 10 or 12), and were well-made, high end or mid-range name brand (Anthropologie, Ann Taylor Loft, Gap, Express)... really not my typical consignment store experience. Shirts are around $10 or $12, sweaters $12-$25, and the dress was $14. In the end I got 8 items (sweaters, shirts, a dress, belt) for under $90--I asked the manager if she'd give me a discount for buying so much and she said sure, and took the price of the dress off. This place has such good karma!! I usually find something adorable whether it's a dress, skirt, or a pair of cool gloves. DON'T BE A SIZE QUEEN, if you're getting a skirt for $10.00 you can spend $15.00 on alterations. I just bought a great pair of toasty winter boots a size and a half bigger so I can wear thick socks!! Yeah, I'm a fan. In terms of shopping I find that RB can be hit or miss but a walk-through never hurts the eyes. They definitely carry some things you will not find anywhere else and they are very friendly and helpful. In terms of consigning I think this may be my favorite place to consign. I have done it about 3 or 4 times and every time they are consistent. From the amount of time it takes them to go through my things to the things they take and even down to being understanding the 2 times I was running late for my appointment. Last month I made over 100 dollars consigning there. I feel like they price fairly and aren't trying to rip anyone off. If you are looking for a good local place to consign, hands down I would say go here. read more

So there are a ton of different styles I go for. I'm interested in everything from vintage 50's to androgynous looks to bulky layered styles. When I shop, I look for basic pieces that I can pair with anything- like a black pencil skirt or brown slacks while also keeping my eye out for eclectic accessories and clothing that I won't be able to find just anywhere. I do not know how they do it, but I cannot walk into that store without finding 10 things I want and each fits a different style of mine. I find pretty great deals too; I got a vintage Dior suit in amazing condition for $55 at one of their shopping parties. The salesperson even pointed out that there was a very small imperfection so I would be aware before purchasing. The shopping parties apply a 20% discount, so I will definitely be going to the one on October 29th! I also love that they support local jewelry artists. It always nice to know someone in the area hand-crafted the pieces wear on a daily basis. read more

I was expecting to find some decent stuff but could only find a bracelet and a shirt that I have yet to wear. The owner and her staff are wonderful--so friendly, personable, and helpful. I went in the other day to bring in some items to consign and they remembered my name from previous consignments. Wow! Aside from being a great place to consign, the selection here for shopping is great. They have a great selection of new and second-hand jewelry and accessories. Cool shoes, too. Very cute store- probably the best value for money in consignment/vintage in Cambridge. The sales girls are really nice, and clearly glad to be there. This place does a nice mix of gently used and inexpensive new items. They just seem to have an eye for stuff 20-30somethings like- trendy, cute cuts, all stuff that's up to date. Reminds me a bit of Buffalo Exchange, but Raspberry's less corporate (and therefore cheaper). Worth checking out if you haven't been! read more

Beware - when you make an appointment to consign, make sure you get a clear understanding of what they are looking for which is apparently fun, frilly clothes - NOT banana republic suits, skirts, jackets, new bridesmaids dresses with tags on them, Anthropologie pants, any items with beads that may be falling off, etc. I just spent an hour and 15 minutes driving round trip from Back Bay to Cambridge with 2 bags of clothes and dresses hanging up freshly dry cleaned, fought through Harvard Square and was lucky enough to find a metered parking spot only to have my things rifled through and then rejected in a matter of ten minutes. The salesperson ripped through my dry cleaning bag and tore out a bridesmaid dress I had neatly attached to a cardboard bust only to take it out and point out a water stain on it which I was unaware of - okay I get you won't accept it but really? These are personal items, take some care when you are examining things - especially if you are ultimately going to reject them. They should note what the DON'T accept on their website and over the phone before someone wastes their time getting to that location for nothing. I get that they have a certain look they want, they just need to be clear about it. read more

OMG, this place rocks! :) I was just walking down Mass Ave. on Saturday when I saw some of their clothes hanging outside on a rack, took a quick browse and suddenly couldn't take my eyes off them - they were so cute! I didn't have time to shop but made a mental note to return and go inside, which I did today. Ooooh, so much good stuff! Funky, eclectic and all in excellent shape. I think the best parts of this store are that the clothes are actually in really good shape - no stains, no fuzzies, no fades - unlike other consignment shops - and the decor is cute, the prices are totally reasonable and the woman who was there working today was so helpful and friendly.
