    Chicken satay and beef rendeng

Food was amazing! The beef rengdeng and chicken satay are what we ordered. The amount of food for the price is generous also.

The food is really good and I highly recommend the Pempek and Soto. This place is authentic Indonesian food and the food is amazing!! Customer service is excellent as well and the owners are so friendly!

One of the things I love about SF is its diverse food scene. Who would've thought that you could find authentic Indonesian food out of a food truck--and at an affordable price at that? Rasa Rasa, located inside SPARK Garden, is just the place to check out! The Beef Rendang Platter came with a rich, unctuous beef stew made with coconut milk and spices, served alongside rice, curry jackfruit, sautéed greens, a deep-fried boiled egg, prawn crackers, and spicy Sambal paste on the side. This platter featured a perfect balance of components--the rich, fatty, curried beef was offset by the earthy greens, while the jackfruit provided a textural contrast, and the prawn crackers added a nice crunch. I also got the Gado Gado, a vibrant, colorful salad with a variety of crunchy vegetables (both raw and cooked), including green & red cabbage, carrots, bean sprouts, collard greens, and cucumbers, topped with tofu, tempeh, peanuts, and prawn crackers. But the best part of this salad was definitely the earthy, crunchy, creamy peanut sauce, which brought all the components together! Overall, this food truck presented a fantastic variety of Indonesian flavors, and the service was super friendly too!

This is one of the best permanent vendors at Spark Social! For starters, the fried chicken wings was some of the luckiest I've had and everything was made to order. The beef rendang tasted so flavorful and spiceful, and even came with shrimp chips and cooked jackfruit in a coconut sauce! The portion was also substantial and I saved the rest for lunch the next day. The prices aren't bad at all considering the portion and quality of food! I will be coming here more often when I'm at Spark Social!

I never had Indonesian food before and upon trying the Beef Rendang, I know I will be trying more! I'm familiar with alot of Southeast Asian cuisines so I had an idea of what the flavor profiles would be, but I was pleasantly surprised by the combination of food. The curried jackfruit arguably was as good as the beef, and the egg was cooked perfectly as well! Whenever I'm at the Spark Social area, I try to hit up Rasa Rasa unless they're closed.

Consistently delicious food at this Spark Sf food truck staple! Whenever it's cold outside I love getting their noodle soup to warm me up. The flavors are so rich. The turmeric chicken was really tender, and I loved that there were leafy greens on the side. The sauce is so good over the chicken too! It's usually not busy here, so ordering and receiving my food is so fast. The food is packed up nicely so nothing spills when I'm carrying it from the truck to my table. The puffed shrimp chips on the side are a great crunchy snack too!

Indonesian restaurants are a unicorn in SF. And, soon we're going to need these unicorns to fly us places because these gas prices are no joke! My co-worker's friend was a chef at Borobudur (last Indonesian restaurant in SF). After Borobudur permanently closed, as a side hustle, her friend would cook and deliver Indonesian meals to us at work. Since COVID, my co-worker moved back to Indonesia so no more Indonesian food for us. =( Being one of the most highly rated food trucks at SPARK Social/Parklab Gardens, I had high hopes for Rasa Rasa, an Indonesian/SE Asian food truck. Sadly, we didn't have the same experience as other raving reviews. Rasa Rasa is located in the Parklab Gardens next to Hookt Doughnuts. They're offering takeout, delivery (3rd party apps), and there's plenty of outdoor seating to enjoy your meal at. M E N U Apps, rice platters, and soups/noodle soups. There's also some fusion items like SE Asian taco wraps and burritos. Everything is reasonably priced at less than $14. Very vegan friendly. F O O D * Hot Wings ($10): https://bit.ly/3tCx05d I was hoping for some distinctive SE Asian spices but these tasted like plain fried wings (not spicy) served with sweet chili sauce. * Beef Rendang Rice Platter w/ curry jackfruit, sautéed greens, egg, rice, crackers ($14): https://bit.ly/3KocJaf Starting with the positive, I liked the thoughtful presentation with everything in their own little section and with garnishes. Sadly, half of the components were dried out. I visited before 5 pm, not before closing so not sure what happened. --Beef Rendang: While a dry, non-saucy curry, the beef itself was tough, dry, and stringy. Nice warming spices, though some may find it's toned down for the American palate. --Curry Jackfruit: Tender and meaty, lightly spiced. Best part of the platter and it was vegan! --Sautéed greens: Tender, slightly bitter with a bite. --Egg: Dried out. --Rice: Dried out. --Crackers: Light and crispy, reminds me of shrimp chips. S E R V I C E Friendly and fast. Food was ready in less than 5 minutes. Overall, while it was an underwhelming meal, I probably visited on an off day. I'm down to give Rasa Rasa another try when I'm at SPARK Social/Parklab Gardens again and hope to have a better experience next time.

    Shrimp Laksa Noodle Soup

I LOVE their Shrimp Laksa Noodle Soup! I love southeast Asian food, and this place executes it very well! Their shrimp is so fresh, and they give you a decent amount of it! The broth is so flavorful and tasty. The price is also very reasonable. Whenever I come to Spark Social SF, I feel like I should try new food trucks, but I always come back to this one and order the same thing because it's so good :)) It is food truck food, but restaurant quality Imo the best food truck in mission bay

    Mushroom rendang
    Sydney J.

I came to the ParkLab and Spark Social food trucks with some friends for a Sunday dinner and ordered a mushroom rendang. The greens were rather bitter, the jackfruit was okay (only slightly spicy), and the mushrooms were the best part since they were more juicy and savory. The fried tofu was pretty good too, would've liked a few more pieces of it though. The food also came with a small amount of some kind of chips/crisps. Overall the food was decent but I felt like it was a little on the expensive side relative to how filling it was (I finished it all off though I'm typically someone who eats smaller portions than a standard restaurant meal).

Yum! I love me some laksa. I used to go to Lime Tree for their Laksa and thought it was the bomb, until I went on a trip to Singapore a few years back. Then I realized I knew laksa all wrong. Hadn't found a place that made a good laksa in the Bay since then... Until I came across Rasa Rasa! Whenever I'm at Spark, I got to get a bowl of laksa! The laksa here is much similar to what I've had in SE Asia. Spicy, a little tangy, a little creamy, with bright seafood flavors! Wish the portions were a little bit bigger, as the bowl of laksa despite being really delicious is somewhat small for what you get. I've also had the beef rendang tacos which were really great! Usually I get that as an appetizer to complete my laksa meal so I'm contently full. But the main star is the laksa IMO. With the lack of Indonesian/Malay restaurants in the Bay, Rasa Rasa is a welcome addition to the food scene here. Terima kasih!

Food truck at ParkLab Gardens. Beef rendang (food truck guy told me it was the most popular item on the menu): smells amazing, flavorful, crispy fish chips, but beef was a bit tough and dry. Wished there was brown rice option.

Finally back at Parklab Gardens for my favorite restaurant out in the Spark Social/ParkLab Gardens Community, Rasa Rasa. Finally tried the Pork Shumai today. Just WOW, super delicious. The peanut sauce was awesome. Just wish their was some white rice in the plate to help soak up the Peanut Sauce. The Shumai was HUGE, bigger than traditional Shumai in Dimsum/Chinese restaurants. The wings were decent, nice addition of Sweet Chili Sauce on the side, just wish the wings were a little bit more seasoned or spicer. Rasa Rasa is my favorite trailer/truck out here for a reason. Please do yourself a favor and if you're in the area visit this awesome trailer. Thanks for another great meal Rasa Rasa

Shrimp Laksa Noodle Soup Tofu Tex (VEGAN)
    Anna Z.

Shrimp Laksa Noodle Soup (3/5) - the spice satisfied me enough (i love spicy food), but the flavor was lacking perhaps a little salt, which is interesting because I don't like my food too salty at all. It was creamy and spicy, but I still felt like it was missing a key element. One order of soup contained rice vermicelli noodles, tofu or bean curd (?), and four shrimps. and you better like cilantro, or this dish is not for you. Tofu Tex (4/5) - wow, they give you a generous portion of tofu. Crispy tofu topped with a sweet curry-like peanut sauce and tons of peanuts. healthy and hearty. I split one order of soup and one order of tofu with a friend, and it was the perfect amount of food for us.

He also gave us a dish of shrimp chips to snack on before our meal. ***OUR PICKS*** ROTI PRATHA ~ Flaky, flatbread served with curry dipping sauce. This was yummy! The roti had a crispy and chewy texture all in one. Curry was mild and sweet. 4.5/5 MIE GORENG JAWA ~ Java-style fried noodles with chicken and sweet soy sauce. Flavorful and delicious! Chicken was tender, and noodles were cooked just right. 4.5/5 SAMBAL OKRA AND GREEN BEANS (got a mix of both) ~ Loved this dish! If you want a flavor bomb, this would be it! They make their own sambal too! 5/5 LAKSA ~ rice noodles with shrimp in a coconut-based soup. The broth was soothing and mild. I think if it were spicy and tangy, this dish would shine. However, if you like mild flavors, this one might be for you. Noodles and shrimp were perfectly cooked. 4/5 PEPES SALMON ~ baked salmon fillet, seasoned with mild chili and lemongrass, wrapped in banana leaves. This one came highly recommended by Ming. He wasn't wrong! The salmon was so tender that it melts in your mouth. It was excellent and tasty!! If you like salmon, this is the dish to get! 5/5 GINGER RICE ~ Ming comped us ginger rice to go with our meal. I don't think I've ever had ginger rice this good! SO flavorful, yet not too greasy or salty like some others. I could eat just the rice and be happy!! 5/5 Everything we ordered was well-balanced and prepared wonderfully. We enjoyed our meal at Lime Tree and Ming's warm company throughout our lunch! I'm regretting not coming here sooner! We'll definitely be back!
