Very small but welcoming -- very wholesome team and good vibes. Staff members were very kind and friendly! Very clean! Didn't try the food but tried the Iced Ice Cream Milk Tea; very refreshing and delicious! Portion is huge; large size. Lots of different options available from milk teas to fruit teas, I would definitely recommend and would try something new next time!
Stopped by RareTea on my lunch break and grabbed a Mango Dragon Fruit with no lychee. Man, this hit the spot on a hot day like today. The mango and dragon fruit were a really good combo. super refreshing and not too heavy. I'm usually not the biggest boba person, but this drink was actually really good and I'll definitely be getting it again. Katrina helped me out and was really nice. service was quick my drink came out fast. The shop itself was really nice and cute too. They have a seating area where you can sit down and enjoy your drink or one of their snacks. On my next visit, I'm definitely trying the egg puffs. They looked really good, and you can add toppings like chocolate or strawberries. I also noticed they have a lunch special from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. with select drinks at a discounted price, which is always a plus when you're grabbing something on your break. This definitely made my lunch break a lot better. Highly recommend if you're downtown and looking for something cold refreshing.
i visited during a weekday an hour before closing, and it wasn't busy at all! service was super friendly and quick too. i ordered a mango green tea with boba and it was the perfect amount of sweetness, and it was so refreshing during a heat wave! although the shop was on the smaller side, there was plenty of seating inside and outside. it was a great place to walk around too!! awesome business to support!
It's been years since I've been to this RareTea, located in DoCo, but was in the area and stopped by late on a weekend night. It's not a big space. There's a handful of places to sit (three tables and some counter seating). Service was excellent, both helpful and friendly. I'll note the Rose Matcha didn't have much of a rose taste. However, the matcha drinks tastes of good quality and not at all chalky.
Stumbled upon this place while walking around Golden 1 Center. I was hooked by all the appealing pictures of their drinks on the walls, so I decided to order their Mango Coconut + noodle. There was no wait, and I got my drink in no time. From the very first sip, I was sold! And when they say this drink is part of their coconut series, you better believe there's coconut in it! Can't wait to try other drinks on their menu next time.
I have not been to RareTea in a while, and it was my first time at the DOCO location. The location is great, as it's right near the arena with plenty of other food, drink, and shopping options as well. I will say however I was a bit disappointed in my drink. I ordered the Kiwi Fruit Tea w/ Aiyu jelly and felt that it was too tea-forward for my liking even when I mixed it. The sips with the kiwi and jelly together made it better, however, it was difficult to get everything together, so I got the bitter tea taste many sips.
This has become my new favorite spot to get a cold tea drink. I work across the street and my coworkers and I come here at least once a week. We love the flavors they have, and the prices are reasonable. Great service . I've ordered online and at the spot. I've tried a few different teas, matcha, taro, and there's plenty more I want to try! Nice chill ambiance. I definitely recommend stopping in if you're ever in DOCO.
Pretty good tea overall, good classic boba and fantastic strawberry crema tea (that's prob my fav here). 4/5 above average but there's a lot of competition for great boba in Sac these days.

Rare tea appeared right when I was craving bubble tea in a fierce way. They're located in DOCO on the upper level near Macy's. There was no wait when I walked in and placed an order for a 'mango milk tea with boba'. Staff were very friendly and prices are fair. Seating is limited but if you can snag a table I recommend enjoying your tea and egg waffle in the restaurant. Overall the tea was pretty great and I had no complaints.
Order: Handmade Taro milk tea with reg boba. $7 They also had honey boba, but that would be extra $1. Rare Tea shares the same space as Satori Sushi. Two yummy goodies in one place. The person at the register gave me a heads about my order that there was no sugar and described the drink to have chunks of Taro. I appreciate the details. They asked if I wanted to sweeten the drink. Since the boba was slightly sweet, I turned down the option. Initially, I thought the drink was tasty, but as I kept drinking it, I realized how bland it was. They did offer again to sweeten it after my first sip, but I still said no. I don't regret it. Now I know. I would go back again. 5 stars for excellent customer service.
At age 10, my son is at a stage where he is trying to figure out his desired style (appearance), hobbies, and foods. A few months ago, he and I were at an event where they were distributing free samples of bubble tea. Although I found it to be overbearingly sweet, he absolutely loved it (no surprise)! Therefore, after returning an item to the nearby Macy's, I figured that I would treat him to some bubble at RareTea. When we walked in we were immediately greeted by all three employees working behind the counter. Since this was my son's first time ordering bubble and there was a plethora of options on the menu, my son asked one of the employees for a recommendation. The employee pleasantly suggested the Okinawa Milk Tea, which was one of the employee's personal favorites and an overall popular drink choice. After placing the order, the employee immediately began making the drink and my son had his order in hand less than a minute later. My son found the drink + boba balls to be delicious; so delicious that he consumed it over a two day span to ensure that he had it to look forward to the next day. It's funny how a simple item like bubble, brought so much joy to my son (much cheaper than the newest video game or shoes). Although I try to regulate how much sugar our household consumes, a little bubble every now and then won't hurt. Thank you RareTea!

I stopped here on a busy graduation night last week, just before closing. With so many people packed into the area, I was shocked at how empty this place was. Their drinks are at a fair price for the amount you get, so the fact that there were very few people there should have been a clue. My drink was pretty terrible. I got a simple milk tea and it tasted very watery and mostly like synthetic sweeteners. Does the "Rare Tea" mean it's rare if you get any actual tea in your drink? If I'm being honest, the quality was very poor. It did in a pinch, but I would probably not come here again. read more

This has become my new favorite spot to get a cold tea drink. I work across the street and my coworkers and I come here at least once a week. We love the flavors they have, and the prices are reasonable. Great service . I've ordered online and at the spot. It was a hot day. And first tea house I see was rare tea located in downtown Sac. The taste was ok, nothing original, the price is almost the same as other places. And it was in a great location right next to Sac king stadium. Go give it a try next time you are there read more

Very friendly and fast service. Clean and nice interior. Most importantly: yummy and fresh boba with a sweet, smooth flavor. The boba was warm when I got it in my drinks most of the time, which I personally love. My favorite drink was the brown sugar boba shake. I tried the thai tea smoothie with boba and felt like I couldn't taste the Thai tea flavor very much, but the boba was still good. The rose matcha latte was good as well, but I love my sweet drinks; so I reverted back to the brown sugar boba shake on my last day getting boba here. The staff here is friendly (remembered me coming in all week, lol) and good at recommending you a drink or how to customize if you don't know what you want. read more

Been here a handful of times. They allow you to order via the tablet at the register but today there was actual employee taking orders. Cashless store, card required so deducted a star for being prejudice against underprivileged citizens. (Yes this is actually a thing) ordered three teas and an egg puff ($10 with small ice cream scoop and two Oreo cookies crumbled on top & drizzle of condensed milk) Thai tea with an added scoop of ice cream as a topping, strawberry smoothie and mango smoothie was good. read more
After a full day of walking and exploring, I was craving boba and was happy to find this place. I ordered my drink with less ice and less sweet. The lady making the drinks was super friendly and accommodating to everyone. Taro Milk Tea - 4/5 A little disappointing that this wasn't more flavorful but the boba was perfect and the drink definitely hit the spot. read more
I'm was on a hunt for the best Oreo Milkshake in the area and I stumbled across RareTea. Sacramento is really really hot, so this really helped me cool down and enjoy the strip mall I was walking through. LOCATION: Somewhat hard to find, it is located on the second story of the mall so you will have to take an escalator up. Overall, it is in a pretty interesting shopping complex with a bad food to store ratio. This means there is more food than there is browsing / shopping. TASTE: The Oreo Milkshake was really good! It tasted like a less sweet, milk tea blended milkshake that had really subtle hints of tea. I also like my drinks icy so it was the perfect blend for me. Customer Service: Really fast, really smooth. The interior is somewhat small but it took about 5 - 10 minutes to receive this drink. Overall, really good try. Definitely check it out if you're in the strip mall and / or is craving an Oreo flavored drink. read more
In our quest to try every boba spot, Rate Tea has definitely been on our list. It wasn't until today when we finally got to try it and it was definitely worth it. We came in at around 8pm (Macy Parking ftw) and ordered two drinks. I got a jasmine tea with snow cream and boba, while my bf got a high mountain oolong with boba. As we waited for our drinks the atmosphere was warm and friendly, I'm glad there is a family friendly/ non alcoholic spot in the DOCO area this late. It was a little unsettling with the lack of music but luckily the outside noise was enough. We had to wait a tiny bit for the oolong to finish brewing but when we got our drinks they were amazing. My snow cream was very cheesy and not as salty as I expected, but it paired well with the strong, floral jasmine tea. I got it regular sweetness but it wasn't super sweet. My bf's oolong milk tea was also not super sweet and the tea tasted very very strong and fresh. It's clear here the teas used here are very high quality and taste great. We both got boba and it was the perfect texture, soft and chewy. The regular boba is less sweet than other spots but still great. Overall if you're in the area give the place a try! read more

As a frequent visitor at RareTea in Berkeley, I was so excited to see that there was a RareTea in Sac! The drinks were just as good as I remember. My go to drink here is the kiwi fruit tea with aiyu jelly. I would recommend adjusting sweetness to 80% tho! The workers were very nice and friendly. The service was quick and my drink was out within 5 minutes of ordering. It was a bit hard to find this place, but I ended up parking at the DOCO lot and having my parking validated here! It'll give you 90 minutes with purchase. The inside was very cute and clean, and the store is located on the second floor. Will definitely be coming back :) read more

RareTea Sacramento is located in DOCO This was my first time visiting RareTea because I rarely come to downtown (pun intended). An event brought us here to DOCO and extended a generous complimentary drink of our choice in which I chose the Oreo Smoothie w/ brown sugar boba. I mentioned that I wanted just the regular sweetness but as it turned out it was still a bit too sweet for me... not sure if it was the brown sugar boba that elevated the sweetness but I'll need to adjust the sucrose level next time. I purchased three more drinks to go: Mango Passion Fruit Green Tea, Caramelized Brown Sugar Boba Fresh Milk, and Rose Spring Tea to bring home. All drinks got a thumbs up from my adult kids. The staff are friendly and helpful... I got all three of my drinks in no time. They are fast! Parking in downtown can be a challenge and rarely are there "free" parking anymore. Park at the DOCO parking garage for easy access to the shops and restaurants. They are located on the second level by the Golden 1 Center and next to Macy's. What an amazing boba shop at an amazing location! Placed super conveniently in DOCO, it's perfect for a hangout. This time we ordered through doordash and it was super quick. I ordered the mango milk tea with mango and pearls, SOOO good! The boba are so soft and sweet! Not chewy like some spots. I'm very impressed and satisfied with my order. My husband's black milk tea with boba was also on point! read more
There was no line and pretty much empty. It's a little place and no tables up I'm sure because of COVID and the limited space. I assume that you just order and take it to got. Least it seemed the way to go. When i entered one lady was on the phone and called out to another worker. I ordered the passion fruit with green tea and added leech Boba. They wanted to know how sweet and I don't like mine sweet so I said 75% and the lady said that the leech would add sweetness so we went with 50% and it turned out perfect. They use real tea you can taste it so it wasn't like a sugary drink. The leech Boba was perfect. I really liked it a lot and hope to come back again and I don't even like these kinds of drinks. Finally got the chance to stop by RareTea after a long while of their grand opening. I avoided this place for the longest because of their long lines & it being in downtown. I came in on a pretty hot day so it was nice to grab boba and feel refreshed. I got a Taro shake with added Oreo and honey crystal boba. I enjoyed drink but it was thick when served. I had to let it melt a bit before drinking it. Because it was pretty frozen, I couldn't mix my Oreo into my shake. Great location, inside DOCO, upstairs next to Polanco. Great place to stop by if you are doing shopping in the area. read more
My second time visiting here was as great as my first (which was just last week)! I received the email regarding their BOGO Free today since they're celebrating their 3 year anniversary and decided to stop by since I had business nearby today. I initially tried the High Mountain Teapresso and today I went with a simple Coffee Milk Tea (regular sugar) for myself and a Signature Matcha Latte (30% sugar) for my boyfriend. Service was a little quick so I only uttered out that much and completely forgot about the Brown Sugar Boba part of the order because I didn't realize there was a Signature Matcha Latte without it (crying on the inside) so I guess we must come by again for that one! Both drinks were delicious although the Signature Matcha Latte tasted a bit grainy even when shaken to mix it. The Coffee Milk Tea tastes very good, but definitely substitute the dairy if you're deathly lactose intolerant! (It was a tough fight between the Coffee Milk Tea and I but dairy tastes soo good) Proper social distancing and requirement of wearing a mask were enforced, orders were promptly taken once we entered even though they were extremely busy, and my drinks came out perfectly without too much waiting. Once again, it is located in such a nice location and I'm excited to visit again to try their other drinks! read more
Walking around we found this tea spot on the terrace of the outdoor mall. They have lots of tea options and instead of boba, they have crystal pearls which are different, but good. They were quick and efficient. I ordered the strawberry berry 2.0 with crystal pearls. I got it with lite ice and 50% sweetness. The drink was really tasty and refreshing. I also ordered the mango passionfruit green tea with lite ice and 50% sweetness, with no toppings. It was also tasty, but I think 75% sweet would've been better. I would come again to try more of their drinks. They are also comparable in price. read more
