The carrot cake latte caught my eye. I placed my order with a friendly barista. She made sure to ask what size drink size (16 oz or 20 oz options for an iced drink) and if regular milk was okay. There were plenty of alternative milk options, but I believe there is an extra fee for adjusting so make sure to ask if that matters. I noticed a nice combo option on one of their signs offering a drink and bagel sandwich for $13, before 2 pm. Specific options only, but I will for sure try that next time. There were seating options inside and outside. It seemed like a decent spot to get some work accomplished in a relatively quiet environment. My drink was prepared quickly and had a good ratio of coffee to cheese foam. The cutest little carrot topping was added too. I actually wished there was a little more ice added to my drink. I went home and added it myself and the iced latte was my ideal temperature.

One thing I especially appreciated is how they treat pets. It's clear they care, every dog that came in got a treat, which was a really nice touch. The coffee is excellent, not over-roasted like in a lot of places. While you're waiting in line, they even offer samples, which is awesome. I had a latte with regular milk and was very happy with it. As for the food, the bacon and onion croissant really stood out, very tasty ( though I imagine it would be even better warm ). The caramel apple cheesecake was also incredible, delicious and not overly sweet, even though the name might make you think otherwise. Overall, if you get a chance to stop by for breakfast, you definitely won't regret it. Thank you!

As typical with Temple Coffee, the quality of the drinks are top notch and really is the gold standard in Sacramento. Prices are on the higher side for these premium selections so be aware of that if you haven't been to a Temple before. This location is a bit smaller and has less unique features than other ones. It's perfectly serviceable for a cafe, but the ambiance isn't on par when you compare them. The service, however, was superb. I found the baristas there to be very friendly and warm. It's hard to go wrong with Temple, and if you/re looking for a great coffee drink and near this one, it's certainly worth the visit!

The interior balances modern minimalism with warm, earthy vibes. A place you could spend an afternoon reading, working, or just people-watching. I ordered a mocha, an Americano, and one of their signature sandwiches. The mocha was solid -- not too sweet and with a pleasant cocoa depth (7/10). The Americano leaned a bit too bitter for my taste and could've used more balance (6/10). The sandwich, however, was the real standout: fresh ingredients, toasted perfectly, and packed with flavor (9/10). Service was friendly. Prices are standard for downtown Would definitely come back for lunch or a slow morning with a book. Not my top pick for espresso purists, but a great spot if you appreciate atmosphere and good food.

I've come here to hang out with friends, do homework, sit by myself and enjoy my own company, or even just grab something to go, and the consistency of enjoying this place has never changed. The customer service is always friendly and welcoming, the atmosphere is relaxing without feeling overwhelmingly busy, and the food always tastes fresh and good quality. I honestly haven't experimented too much with the drink menu yet, but my favorite part of this entire spot is the little backyard vibe. I can't fully explain it, but it genuinely feels like sitting in the backyard of a friend's house enjoying a home cooked meal and a good drink. I've been here during different seasons too, and somehow the outdoor space is always enjoyable whether it's gloomy and sprinkling or hot and sunny. Between the plants, shaded spots, open space, and even the cat I've seen around sometimes, there's just something very calming and settled about it. As a student, I also appreciate the free Wi Fi and that you never feel rushed to leave, but at the same time service is still quick and efficient. Parking can sometimes be a little annoying, but not enough to stop me from coming back. It's also super close to the River Walk, which makes it even better on a nice day.

I was aiming for something savory and filling, but landed on avocado toast (which can be made vegan--just ask them to skip the butter). That said, the coffee? Absolutely dialed. I had an oat milk dirty chai and it was chef's kiss--rich, balanced, and worth the visit on its own. The plot twist is the price tag. With an 18% tip, I walked out $30 lighter for a drink, a slice of avo toast, and a vegan brownie for later. Not outrageous for California, but enough to make you pause mid-sip and reflect on your life choices. Overall: great coffee, limited vegan breakfast options, and a vibe that says "treat yourself"... just maybe not every day.

Their pop-up menu includes a solid selection of the drinks they offer at their storefront, along with some food options like sandwiches, pastries, and even tamales, which is a nice touch. I think I'm going to try the Bumble Bear Latte next time since it seems like it is a fan favorite based on other Yelp reviews! Every table is full and there is a line of 10-15 groups snaking around the restaurant. The vibes are immaculate though, a dusty pink theme throughout with consistent cartoonish drawings on their cups, coffee beans, and signage. So many people, dogs, and babies. I do think this is a millennial and up age group, not many younger folks. They do have quite a bit of staff working hard behind the counter. On a cold gloomy day, this place is extremely cozy with the large bright windows. There is also seating outside! The horchata cold brew really does taste like cereal milk in the best way. The coffee flavor is actually very mild, but that may be a symptom of oat milk flavor taking over. Frequently referred to as the best breakfast sandwich in Sacramento, this place had my standards sky-high. The breakfast sausage and egg was definitely unique - the textures were all fluffy and soft, the brioche bun and folded egg omelette. The cheese was light but flavorful and the sauce balanced everything out nicely. I would say this is a solid breakfast sandwich, more untraditional, and definitely a must try if you're interested. We also ordered a salmon and lox everything bagel sandwich that was also delicious! I would have loved a bit more smoked salmon for balance but the scallion dill cream cheese was super flavorful! I would say both sandwiches were on the milder side flavor-wise but still extremely good!

Corner location, actual side parking (which is rare), and the whole space just looks... intentional. Modern, clean, and aesthetically dialed in without feeling try-hard. And then you walk in. It's beautiful in there. Like -- genuinely one of the cutest coffee shops I've been in. The mural alone deserves its own moment, and even the restroom is thoughtfully designed (yes, I notice these things). Everything feels clean, polished, and almost hotel-lobby level nice. You would never guess they've been open for six years -- it looks brand new. Now let's talk about the experience. Eva at the register was super helpful. I told her straight up -- I didn't want to order my usual mocha because I didn't want to compare it to Starbucks or Dutch Bros and set myself up for disappointment. She helped guide me toward something different, and that was the best decision I could've made. Enter: the Raspberry Nirvana. It's a mocha with raspberry, strawberry, and vanilla -- and I accidentally ordered it iced at first. Took one sip and immediately thought, this is so good... I wish it was hot. Realized that's what I originally wanted, brought it back, and they remade it quickly with zero attitude. Just kindness and efficiency. Shoutout to the manager (who was the one remaking it) -- super nice, no hesitation, just handled it. Now the drink itself? Ridiculous. The hot version? Even better. The flavor is so specific and layered that it doesn't taste like something you could just find anywhere. It's the kind of drink you don't just enjoy in the moment -- it's the kind you think about later. Like, "I need to go back and get that exact drink again." That's rare. It's not just sweet. It's not just coffee. It's balanced in a way that feels intentional -- like someone actually cared about how those flavors hit together. We also got plenty of seating, the vibe stayed calm and welcoming, and the whole place just felt... easy to be in. Between: * The aesthetic * The cleanliness * The genuinely kind staff * And a drink that's now stuck in my brain Yeah -- they're on my good side for real. If you're like me and don't want to order your usual because you don't want to compare it to big chains, do yourself a favor and try something new here. Let them guide you. Because now when I think "raspberry mocha," I'm not thinking about anywhere else -- I'm thinking about The Good Side Coffee. And I'll absolutely be back.
