I will say that if you are unable to tell the difference between 'vegan' food and real meat, then…read morethe business must be doing something right. Those of you that know me already know that I am a big time meat eater. But I am always open to soy protein and impossible meat options. This takes me to the Arden neighborhood of Sacramento where I had the opportunity to try out "RAW Superfood Cafe". Located in the Howe Bout Arden shopping center, this place has been opened since early-2024 while replacing the once popular "CREAM" which was a surprise since they did not last long in this busy outdoor strip mall. Prior to coming here, I've already heard of RAW Superfood Cafe as they have 3 locations in the Bay Area; San Jose, Milpitas, and San Jose; and 2 locations in the Sacramento area; Elk Grove and this one that I am reviewing. I ended up coming here during the afternoon on Friday 6/5/2026 at around 5:15pm. The inside area is very bright, cheerful, and lively with a few tables with leather booth-seating, bamboo wood paneling, and fake grass with the business name aligned to it. Additionally, there is a large digital kiosk where you can place your order and pay using a card or smartphone. The specialty here are their blended and layered bowls which offer a huge assortment of customizable creations. This is where you can choose a base (for example, açaí, mango, dragonfruit, etc.) while picking various toppings (nuts, fruits, coconut chips, etc.) and finishing it off with a drizzle of vanilla, chocolate, or anything you might be craving. However, they also offer a vast amount of smoothies, protein shakes, wellness drinks, blended and iced coffee beverages, and even a respectable amount of food. When I say food, this just isn't a couple items; this is more a few dozen food items to choose from. Everything from various sandwiches, burgers, breakfast toasts, bagels, salads, and soups. Since I was craving an actual meal/drink, I went with their "Bánh Mì Sandwich" (priced at $13.95). This sandwich consisted of house Asian sauce, caramelized onions, pickled daikon, carrots, cilantro, mayo, jalapeño, and cucumber. I paired this a refreshingly cold-pressed Calamansi juice (priced at $5.50). I ordered this exclusively on the kiosk and paid for it digitally via-Apple Pay. Within 5-7 minutes, my drink and food was ready for pickup. I am quite picky about my Bánh Mì Sandwiches but for them to substitute this with vegan meat was an absolute win-win for me. The 'meat' was well-seasoned, tender, and packed with flavor while the bread was soft and made to perfection. Even my drink hit the spot on a seasonably warm 94°F day. I thoroughly enjoyed this while dining inside a very clean, sterile, and bright interior while the employees were absolutely friendly and accommodating. With that said and done, I am giving the Arden "RAW Superfood Cafe" a perfect and unanimous five-star rating.

We both ordered the **Bahn Mi Burger**--mine with the black bean patty, his with the Beyond patty--and we both upgraded to the gluten‑free bun for an extra $0.50. The burgers were disappointing. The bun was extremely dry, the patties lacked flavor, and the jalapeños were so intensely spicy that even as someone who eats cayenne on everything, I had to remove almost all of them. The Asian-style sauce didn't help either. It immediately made the bun soggy and didn't add a good flavor. Mayo would've balanced the burger much better, but there wasn't any--just the sauce. Based on this, we wouldn't return for their vegetarian burgers. Customer service also felt lacking. You place your order on a **computer screen**, not with a person, which already removes any sense of interaction or guidance. On top of that, no one was at the front counter when we arrived, and getting the bathroom code took longer than it should have. Once inside, there was no toilet paper, and the water dispenser outside was nearly empty. The café does seem popular for bowls and smoothies--we saw a lot of people ordering those--so maybe that's where they shine. But for vegetarian burgers, I can't recommend this spot.

There was even a gaming system for people who wanted to enjoy their beverages and hang out. They also had a pretty big menu with lots of different drink options, I think they even offered dessert as well. We ordered a Watermelon Juice with Rainbow Jelly and a Honeydew Juice with Pineapple Jelly. Both drinks were good, but my friend said her Honeydew Juice was too sweet - I really enjoyed the Rainbow Jelly as I am a texture kind of girl. Not sure if I would come back to this location, but staff was very sweet and the drinks were only a short wait. FYI - their Yelp page says Quickly, but the actual name on the building is called Tea-riffic. Check them out!

The ordering process is self serve, with two touchscreen kiosks located on the left side, making it easy to browse the menu and customize your order without feeling rushed. I loved the variety they offer. Not just drinks but also hot foods and donuts, so there's something for everyone. I decided on the Panda Milk Tea and adjusted the sweetness to 50%, which was perfect. I was pleasantly surprised that it came with both agar and regular boba, adding great texture to the drink. It was refreshing, flavorful, and definitely something I'd order again. For food, I tried the French fries and the popcorn chicken. The fries were decent but could have used a little more salt, while the popcorn chicken was flavorful and enjoyable. My only complaint was with the sauces. When my hot food was handed to me, no dipping sauces were included, and I had to ask for them. Thankfully they were free, but I was only given one ketchup and one ranch for the entire order, which felt a little skimpy considering the portion size. Sure, I could have asked for more, but it would have been nice if they were offered automatically or included from the start. Aside from that minor issue, the food and drinks were good, the service was friendly, and I'd definitely come back to try more of their menu.
