Haven't been to this location in a while since I try not to come around the area too often due to the congestion and traffic. The swings are older now and worn out. Some of the floral pieces from the wall is falling off. They have one ordering kiosk. Staff is extremely nice and helpful. drinks were made to order. I wasn't too fond of the strawberry Chizu due to the sourness in the drink , nor their ordering systems. This was not my first tim here I won't be my last. Highly recommend: Mango Chizu (this is my default Bober drink) Today, I tried the pineapple and the Mung Bean Pandan (add boba). They were all good. Came by on a weekday and it wasn't busy since they had just opened. Didn't notice the self order kiosk since it shares same wall as when you enter through the door. Only noticed it when I turned around to take a better look at the store after ordering from someone. I got the oolong milk tea half sweet with no toppings. Wasn't really a fan of it. No strong taste and really tasted like any regular milk tea to me. I wish they had grass jelly as a topping. Not my go-to boba place. I was in town for a conference and really just needed a pick me up. I read that they have fresh brewed tea so I stopped in to grab a plain jasmine tea. There was no one inside, but it is well decorated and very vibrant. The worker greeted me and since I knew what I wanted. I went straight for the order. He quickly came out with my drink since it was just plain jasmine tea. The jasmine was flavorful and floral. It did taste like it was brewed for slightly too long, but nothing that was bitter. I came here on a weekday afternoon and appreciate the aesthetics of this boba shop, including the flower wall and the swing beside it. However, the Mung Bean Pandan latte that I ordered was slightly underwhelming. The flavors sounded interesting, but the drink was not as flavorful as I hoped for. Even with less sweetness, the drink was a bit too sweet, and the drink felt pre-made rather than freshly crafted. I was in the area back in October 2024 for a work conference. Finally on the last morning before catching our flight back home, I slipped away and walked over here to try out some boba in Sacramento. I called several times before coming because I had a hard time finding it but nobody picked up. I finally found it and upon coming in, the only worker at the time was taking some pictures for some customers so I guess that's why they didn't pick up the phone. It's not cool to tell people your non-dairy drinks don't contain milk when they actually do. Recently I was in with a friend to grab a drink after dinner nearby. We went to order and I asked about substituting oat milk in one of the drinks on the menu to ensure it was dairy free. We were both shocked when the employee let us know that "it's literally impossible to make any of our drinks dairy free" and went on to explain that they mix a non-dairy creamer (that still contains milk ingredients) in with all the drinks - even those that are using a milk substitute like oat milk. Say what?! She even showed me the ingredients list on the "non-dairy" creamer she was referring to and it said it contains milk. The crazy part is that Bober Tea actually lists these drinks to be DF (Dairy Free) on their menu! I'm fortunate that this employee was transparent with me even though the company itself isn't. The service is always great as the employees are always very welcoming and helpful when it comes to drink recommendations. It's mostly a to go spot so there aren't any tables or chairs inside the shop though they do have a very comfortable couch you can sit on and chill. I stopped here on the way to the airport to kill some time. There is no public restroom. If you need one, you'll have to walk to chipotle or another nearby establishment. The shop was empty when we went in. Immediately we were greeted and told that the boba would be a 5-10 minute wait. We returned from a walk to the restroom right when the new boba was being poured. I was a bit sad there were no mochi donuts at this location. I ordered a classic milk tea 75% sweet with boba. It came not very cold and somewhat thick. Ever since experiencing the best milk tea of my life at the Bober location in Folsom, I had been dying to try the midtown location. So, yesterday, I met up here with a friend. Like most boba tea shops, Bober Tea is extremely Instagrammable. So, once we received our orders, the first thing we did was take lots of pictures. The cashier was even nice enough to take some for each of us on our phones. The photos came out great, but the milk tea was just okay. I had ordered the Signature Milk Tea, which was the same drink I loved so much at the Folsom location. Here is the description from the menu: "We generously coat the cup with house-made brown sugar syrup, spoon in our warm stir-fried brown sugar boba, fill with our caffeine-rich black milk tea, top with our house-made cheese cream, then brulee'd brown sugar. **INCLUDES STIR FRIED BOBA!!** **Sweetness Level Can Not Be Adjusted**" First of all, I don't remember seeing him brulee anything. If he did brulee my drink, he did it in the back. At the Folsom location, it was definitely done in front of me. Nuances in temperature are a large part of what makes the Signature Milk Tea so amazing. Cold chizu with warm stir fried boba is kind of like having cold ice cream with warm syrup. If they're both lukewarm, it's not as good. In this case, my whole drink just kind of tasted lukewarm. The boba did not taste freshly stir-fried, the chizu was not very flavorful, and, like I said, I don't think the top was bruleed. My friend and I both agreed that our drinks were on the mediocre side, especially considering the hefty price tag. $8 seems like a lot for a boba tea. The use of the blow torch to brulee the topping helps it feel more justified. Overall, I love how cute this shop is, but am not sure if I will return to this location. Compared to my experience at the Folsom Bober Tea, this drink was disappointing. read more

Both drinks were perfectly blended with a well balanced ratio of flavor and sweetness. We loved their interior decor and drink designs. This was my first time trying Bober Tea since I am just visiting Sacramento for the weekend. They have a good variety of drink options on their menu and prices are relatively normal for a boba place (6-7 per drink). The two drinks I ordered were the Classic Milk Tea with boba and a Chizu Mango Green Tea. The milk tea here has what I would describe as a kind of cereal milk flavor to it, so very sweet even at the 0% sweetness level. This may be due to the way the boba is made, since it is advertised as stir fried. It was good overall, but I personally prefer a less sugary tasting milk tea that has more black tea flavor. The chizu mango green tea was also pretty good. For some reason they added honey boba to this drink too, which didn't really make sense for a green tea based fruit drink. I would be open to trying Bober Tea again but didn't personally have a great experience overall from this visit. I think as long as you don't mind your drinks a little on the sweeter side and don't need to customize things too much most people would probably enjoy it though. We tried the black milk tea and Vietnamese iced coffee -- both were really good! The drinks had a strong tea and coffee flavor and didn't feel watered down. The milk tea was also extra creamy. We also ordered a dozen mochi donuts to bring back to our family as a Thanksgiving tread and everyone devoured them! Some favorites seemed to be the ube and chocolate ones. Also major props to the staff for helping out with a last minute Thanksgiving recipe task! I needed to get some whole milk for a stuffing recipe and they provided a large cup for me for just a couple of bucks. It saved me an extra trip to a crowded grocery store on Thanksgiving Day. Same with the Jasmine Milk Tea. Even after adjusting sweetness and ice levels, the drinks were the worst we've had in recent memory. After trying a few sips - we were debating between: 1) forcing ourselves to drink what we'd purchased, 2) returning our drinks and asking for a refund, 3) throwing them away. I'm ashamed to admit - both drinks landed straight in the trashcan. We tried to force them down; but they were not palatable. Also - there is a Yelp picture marked "interior", showing a large room with tables and chairs. BE WARNED - this is not a picture of the boba shop. This has to be another venue entirely (maybe someones party, catered by Bober?!). Bober does not have any seating or tables inside. There is no place to sit and enjoy your tea. I would advise Yelp or Bober to re-tag this picture. We were searching for a place to sit and enjoy Boba, but it was unclear what the interior looked like based on Yelp.
