    Passion Fruit Green Tea

I was pleasantly surprised by this place. I walked in, and it seemed pretty empty and no music was playing initially. Strange boba environment at first, but it didn't bug me much. I order a regular Passion Fruit Green Tea with lychee. First off, their sizes are HUGE for the price. It's hard to find affordable boba these days, and this place had great servings. Secondly, the drink came out in a timely fashion and was pretty good. Not too sweet and the toppings tasted fresh too. Will be coming back!

We usually go to the Cool Tea near us but since we were in Sacramento we figured why not check it out. It's super clean with tons of seating. The girl working was super nice and helpful. We ordered Kumquat Green Tea, Blueberry Matcha with boba & Mango Smoothie with Lychee Jelly. Everything was super yummy! We'll be back next time we're in town!

I have a soft spot for this boba shop because I used to come here all the time, but I can't help but feel like the quality has went down a little. Maybe they changed their recipes because I remember the roasted milk tea being darker in color and having a stronger roasted tea taste. Customer service was good, as we were greeted right away and our order was made fairly fast. The drinks here are usually on the sweeter side, so I make sure to adjust the sweetness. The inside of the store was redesigned to look more modern. There always seems to be a distinct smell inside that reminds me of cleaning products, but I do not mind. They have a cute photo wall, board games, and a good amount of seating available!

just very mid tbh. i got the dragon fruit black tea and it was just meh. 70% was mildly sweet. flavor wasn't too bad but j tasted a lil artificial fosho. also me and my duo were like the only ones in there but the drinks lowkey took a minute. mid

This place is underrated, it may not be as Instagramable as other newer hip boba spots, but it has never failed me and always consistent. Although they don't have as many unique drinks as other places, the drinks here are legit and very tasty!! One of my go to places given reasonable price for what you get. The sizes are much larger than most other boba places. Drinks I've tried: 1) Oolong milk tea - my go to favorite here! Perfect blend of tea and milk. I typically like to add either boba or aloe 2) Roasted milk tea 3) House milk tea 4) Honey green tea 5) Lichi green tea 6) Taro smoothie - A MUST TRY!! -recommend adding boba, although still delicious without it -love how they use real Taro! -they will ask if you have tried it since it's not going to be the artificial purple power that most places use There are plenty of tables and seats inside to hang out or get work done. Overall: do not sleep on this place! You get more bang for your buck and excellent quality.

Hands down the best boba shop in Sacramento! My drinks are always made perfectly, and the staff consistently goes above and beyond--one of the employees even remembers my preferred sugar level! It's that personal touch that makes this place truly special. I absolutely love it here.

Ordered a large Thai tea, with Boba add on. They now have waffle desert options in store. I bought 2 loose leaf teas oolong and camellia green tea to take home they were on sale for 2 for $10.

The drinks at Cool Tea Bar are priced reasonably and that's what would get us to come back if we're ever in the area again. The drinks are extremely sweet so you should scale back the sugar to 75% or even 50% if you don't have a sweet tooth. I ordered the oolong litchi at 100% and it was extremely sweet and the flavor didn't suit my preferences. It might just because I'm not a huge fan of roasted flavors. I enjoyed the Jasmine Green Milk Tea more, but still only thought it was "ok". As for the passion fruit tea, the drink was also just ok, but it had a syrupy taste and was also way too sweet. I usually order 100% sweet at other boba shops so I was surprised when I tried these drink and thought they were overly sweet. The prices are reasonable though especially if you want a larger drink (32 oz?).

Ask the Community - Cool Tea Bar

What are your hours? Have they changed because of Covid?

    We are open 11am - 9pm

Are there options for dairy free , or substitutes like almond milk, oat milk etc?

There are no substitutions but the milk tea is made with a non-dairy creamer.

Do they sell pearl milk tea and just not put it on the menu?

Employee here! Yes we do. Just say pearl milk tea and we'll know what you mean. It translates to a Tea Bar Milk Tea with Tea Balls at our location.

Mochi donuts are honestly one of my favorite things to pair with a drink, and these definitely didn't disappoint. For drinks, we ordered the chizu pink peregrine tea, which was so good. Light, refreshing, and the creamy cheese foam on top added that perfect little extra flavor that makes it feel more special than a regular tea. Everything came out quickly, the atmosphere was bright and welcoming, and it was just one of those easy, happy stops that my daughter and I enjoy together. It's definitely becoming one of our regular treat spots and don't forget their app for quick runs. Final verdict: absolutely worth it.

The shop itself is nice, clean, and has a decent amount of seating. Ordering through the self-service kiosk was easy, and my drinks were ready in about 10 minutes. I ordered the Banafe (banana cream) and a Saigon Coffee. The first thing I noticed when I picked them up was how much ice was in both drinks. The Banafe had a tasty cream topping, but the drink itself was just okay. I give it about a 6/10. I was most excited for the Saigon Coffee since it's one of their best sellers. I ordered it with light ice and extra sweet, but it still came with a lot of ice and didn't taste sweet at all. It ended up being pretty disappointing compared to what I was expecting. Maybe it was just an off day, but based on this visit, I don't feel like it lived up to the hype. I'd be willing to give it another try in the future, but my first experience was underwhelming. For nearly $15 in drinks, I expected a lot more flavor and a lot less ice. Nice atmosphere and easy ordering process, but the drinks didn't live up to the expectations.

My friend says this franchise has changed owners several times, but overall drinks are pretty reliable. Good if you're a person on a mission just to get your dessert drink fix in a timely fashion, but ambiance-wise, not the most comfortable or peaceful place to relax with a friend. Parking is pretty easy in the shared surface lot, but you may have to walk a bit depending on the time of day. Of their standard Che drinks, the ones with coconut milk base tend to taste pretty similar but with different textures depending on which toppings you get. I'm a sucker for pandan jelly, red bean, and mung bean, so any variation usually hits the spot for me. The Vietnamese coffees do run on the sweet side (even when asking for reduced sweetness). They do have two all-gender bathrooms, but they seem to be only half operational and not the most well-kept.

If you've never had Vietnamese dessert before, this is a great place to start. I ordered my go to, the #10 Bambu Favorite. It's a mix of coconut milk, pandan jelly, and grass jelly, but the star for me is the red tapioca (Chè Thái). If you haven't tried it, they are these delightful little gems made of water chestnut chewy on the outside with a light, satisfying crunch in the middle. They're actually made to look like pomegranate seeds. The only minor downside was the consistency of the coconut milk. It felt a bit thin/watered down, even though there wasn't too much ice. I personally would have preferred a richer, thicker coconut base. However, it still totally satisfied my dessert craving! Definitely give them a try if you want to experience authentic Vietnamese sweets. Service was quick and friendly.

The bingsoo was good, the only thing I didn't like was the mochi was pretty hard. Great serving size and easy to share with another; I definitely wouldn't be able to finish it myself.
