The boba is always perfectly soft and chewy, never overcooked or hard, which I really appreciate. The shop is consistently clean, the service is fast, and the staff is always welcoming and kind. I also had the chance to work with Gregory, the manager, when I placed a catering order for a party, and he made the entire process seamless. The price for 2 gallons and boba was reasonable. My favorite is the Okinawa fresh milk with boba (brown sugar), while my mom usually gets the Milk Tea with Salted Cheese and boba (hot or cold). Parking can be a challenge right in front since the aisles are tight, maybe try the 2nd row away from the building. Always have prompt service here and never have to wait long for drinks. They do have summer/seasonal special drinks such as dragonfruit, ube, and graham flavors. Haven't tried the waffles although I am intrigued by the flavor options. Happy Lemon is one of the boba shops that I frequent in the Bay Area because I love the Puff Cream Milk Tea. Unfortunately, the drink at this location is a bit lackluster. The puff cream wasn't as flavorful or abundant as I would expect. I'm used to getting chucks of the puff cream while drinking (which I really enjoy), but when drinking the one from this shop, it just tasted like a standard black milk tea. Additionally, I think the drinks are less sweet than other Happy Lemon locations at 100% sweetness. Regarding cost, it's slightly more expensive by ~$0.25 per drink. What I do love though is that you can use the same rewards card across all stores so you can collect points regardless of which location you visit. Some places like Sharetea use Fivestars and you collect rewards per store which I really don't like. I did notice that they have Buy 2 Get 1 Free on Wednesdays! The sign didn't say how long this promotion will last, but that's a great deal. I wish all locations were participating in this. read more

I have finally seen the light...salted cheese on my tea! Wait, don't run away gagging, it's truly one of those flavors that sounds bizarre, yet tastes so good. I had read about this franchise as it is very popular in the Bay area, so when this new location opened in Elk Grove, I was eager to try the drinks. The 1st time I went to Happy Lemon I was incredibly curious about this "salted cheese", and the new employees were kind enough to provide me with a sample taste. In truth is was odd at first- but after a few sips I was surprised at how different yet savory it was. The famous salted cheese is actually similar to a cream cheese-whipped cream. It is sweet and salty at the same time, and acts like a creamy element for your drink. Not ready to take the plunge on a full sized serving, I ordered my favorite Black Milk tea with extra boba. I am hapoy to report that Happy Lemon makes a strong black tea base, and the boba was perfectly chewy. The next time. I ordered my milk tea with the salted cheese. The soft whipped topping floats on the top of your drink, and they recommend you sip at a 45ﾟ angle: This way you get a little tea with the salted cheese. This is definitely not what you would imagine, think of it more like a soft Cheesecake-like topper. While adding the cheese makes your drink more expensive, I can honestly say it is worth the tasting experience. It is absolutely delicious and adds an entirely new taste profile to a milk tea. Note, the salted cheese is very rich, and if you mix it into your tea, it's similar to heavy cream or half and half. This is a decadent treat worth a try. read more

Oreo milk tea has puff cream (whipped cream?) mixed in so it's really creamy and the Oreo is finely ground. Their boba is perfectly soft and chewy too. The mango lemon slushy is sweet and slightly sour and has yummy bits of fruit and jelly. I've tried the strawberry milkshake and lemon black tea, which were both decent, but wouldn't reorder.
